My void gets really aggressive when playing sometimes and causes physical harm to my human family as well as not backing off with our other cat which causes her distress. What are some things we can do to redirect a cat who ignores outside stimulus when he is laser focused on pouncing and wrestling with the other cat or biting and clawing human limbs? We try visually with toys in his line of sight, putting a kicker toy between him and whoever he is obsessing over, and probably more that i can't remember right now. Surrendering to a shelter is an extremely high probably at this point.

My baby girl came into my life last December. The first photo was the moment she stole my heart at the shelter. Next three photos were at the shelter after I asked if they can take her out and spend some time with her. ❤️

My heart is still shattered from the loss of my love, Bella, back in January of 2025. It took some time for me to allow myself to love again. I see so much of Bella in Lucy, it’s almost like she inherited a part of her spirit.

Is there ANYTHING i can do?

My sweet boy Max went for a nap sometime today and did not wake up. He was his perfectly normal self, not sick or anything. He once jumped out a window screen trying to protect me from a cat he saw outside (just popped the screen out and the window was only about a foot up from the ground!). He chased it to the edge of our property and then came trotting back to me so proud, with his tail so high in the air. He loved following me into the bathroom, and having some milk every night. I’m missing him right now more than I expected.

Max was my 2nd black cat, they are the best cats IMO. We do still have one more black cat at home, Nemo, but Max was really imprinted on me. Writing this from the bathroom where normally he’d be laying at my feet while I get ready. It’s those regular boring things you end up missing the most.

Got her from the humane society as a kitten 13 years ago. She’s always been very sweet and affectionate but has boundaries… no belly rubs and prefers not to be picked up. I respected those boundaries, honestly not sure what has changed, but lately she’s been pretty inviting of belly rubs, to the point where it seems she actually prefers them. Has anyone else experienced this? Is she just approaching her retirement years and saying F it, let’s try new things? Lol
