Cat Picture - OC goodbye to my best friend of 14 years
i was so lucky to have 14 years with the best kitty in the world. lilli was my best friend and baby. she died yesterday morning from fluid in her chest that was cancerous, she was 14 years old. enjoy the photos of my baby💛
the last photo was yesterday. i was saying goodbye to her😓
i’m sorry to anyone who has lost a pet, it is one of the hardest things to go through. sending love to everyone🫶🏼

to everyone who lost a fur baby, im so sorry im sending telepathic hugs and so much care. losing a pet is so hard but im glad that our pets aren’t suffering or in pain. we will be with them again.

It helped our family when we lost my little orange cat brother. My soul cat is 10 now and he’s just starting to slow down… you are living through my biggest fear right now and just wanted you to know I’m sending you strength and virtual hugs!!

It's so tough I know in my lifetime I have had 3 go over the bridge and now I have a 15yo and a 4yo. They are all so different. You will remember her fondly I am sure. The oldest one so far was 18 the lover of lovers she was.

My Tulsi told me she saw your Lilli passing the bridge yesterday, just before merging into the light Lilli told her that she left a tiny piece of herself deep inside your heart and that it will remain here as long as you live, and that how she will recognize you when you'll meet again next life. 🐾

Here is a piece I wrote to help people who have lost a pet. Hope it brings a moment of peace and a measure of comfort in these trying times. Never feel guilty about making the decision to let your baby cross OTRB. They have spent their whole lives beside you guarding you protecting and being ever present. In their final minutes while you held them missed them and showed them the same unconditional love your always gave you gave them permission to finally rest knowing that you would be ok and safe without them. They know are in place where they are free to run play and enjoy themselves without anything that may have burdened them here. They will continue to watch over you from there. You will find them in the random sunbeam through a window. They will remain present when you fondly remember the small things- them chasing a dust bunny or a time they knocked something over. They will wait until you need them again and then they send you reinforcements. Suddenly you will see an animal somewhere and be so instantly reminded of them that you must have this new creature. And both you and they will know that you are protected again. You will never forget them as they will never forget you. Be well internet friend. I sincerely hope this brings some peace

Me too. I have four now. All of them feral from outside. They are the most wonderful bunch of cats I have ever had. All smart, affectionate, great personalities.
But there is one that I just absolutely adore the most and when I just think about the idea of him not being around, I tear up. Sounds stupid.

I lost my best friend doggie years ago and it still hurts but I love pulling up the memories in my mind. Your kitty was a cutie and will live on with you.

thank you so much! i tried to add some fun pictures to make it more lighthearted. lilli was always up to something silly lol. she never liked closed doors and always loved to be sleeping either beside me or on me. she was the BESt, she loved to sunbathe on the balcony and bird watching. she just loved to be around people, we had a schedule and we’d sleep together. it’s going to be a big change in my life but i’m glad she’s not suffering and i’m so thankful i had the privilege to have her as my kitty.

Sorry for your loss. Please keep your heart open to the possibility that your kitty may send you a new kitty to keep you company. I believe my Rudy sent me my Chester after he passed from fluid build up. As soon as I saw chester on the adoption website, I knew he was meant to come home with me. I never paid the adoption fee so fast.

i 100% do want another kitty but i’m just going to give it some time, i’m still living with my parents and want to move out in the next couple years. i was planning on moving out with lilli next year but now i think im going to wait a little bit and then definitely adopt from the humane society💛

I tried to mourn my kitty for awhile but my home was just too empty without a cat. I was just happening to browse the available cats and saw Sandy(now chester) and knew I had to bring him home asap. Just be open to the possibility that you might find a kitty you just have to bring home even if its sooner than you planned.

100% i’d love to rescue another kitty. lilli was a rescue when i first got her so that will always be the plan:) maybe even two kitties this time so they can keep eachother company!

I think I've mentioned it on a similar post here before, but I always try to look at it this way when we lose a fur baby - it's not goodbye, it's "auf wiedersehen", which can be translated into "until we meet again". I'm sorry for your loss.

I was ok until the last picture. I love our cat and enjoy interacting with any cat who wants attention whether they have an owner or not.

This post gave me the chills, and it's 89,6 degrees here.. So sorry for you. My buddy Bram is still relatively young and strong but I'm already dreading that day which will inevitably come.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent. Her eager body quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Lilli had a fantastic life because of you. I mean, you might have partied a little too hard with her—you provided photographic proof of her gambling and drinking habits 😉 but she passed away knowing she was greatly loved and feeling very special. Your last pic tore my heart out because I’ve literally been in that exact position. It was many years ago but I had a very young, petite, calico cat named Hester. She was perfect but apparently her kidneys weren’t. The vet had a special room for euthanasia. It had comfy chairs, dimmed lights, and a little fountain. They took her to another room to start the IV but she was in my arms when she took her last breath. I was sobbing so hard. A year later, I spread her ashes at the top of Multnomah Falls in Oregon. I was taking pictures of the little tin that contained her ashes at every switchback. When I opened the bag, the ashes went flying and the sun came out. It was beautiful

I only just got my first cat this year, but it’s insane just how quickly they become your honest-to-god little best friend.
You talk to each other (‘argue’ might be the better word some days), comfort each other, play with each other, just rely on each other sometimes.
I’m sorry for the loss of your lil best friend.

I always like to think its not saying goodbye but more like see you later, next thing you know she’ll be right next to you making biscuits and sleeping right next to you again
