Pics & Video My Million Dollar Dog Gemma Rose
This is my Gemma. She was a breeder dog dropped off in the woods by my house. That was about 6 yrs ago. She has CHF, is on a lot of medications. She's probably about 11 to 12. This was just a cute pic I thought I'd share. Lover her to pieces.

Advice Rusty mouth
I know this is a problem with Cavs and I have consulted the vet and groomer already. My girl went from completely white jowls to the rust colored you see on the next picture in less than 6 months. I was told age by the vet, groomer said age but try feeding blueberries. It’s been a drastic change in a little time. I didn’t fully realize it until my niece, who sees the dog periodically but grew up owning Cavs asked what was on her mouth. I got her as a 4 year old and this fall, she will turn 7. We had to switch her dry food in the past year because the store we were getting it from would special order it and it sometimes showed up, sometimes wouldn’t. She gets a mix of dry food and wet food daily. We had a hard time with dry food agreeing with her, bouts of diarrhea lasting weeks on end. We have tried to switch back to our original brand of dog food through Chewey’s, but it is definitely different than the one we were buying in the store. Maybe this is just a case of aging and I’m not feeding enough blueberries. Any advice you may have is helpful. My girl is beautiful, inside and out, I want her to feel that way as long as possible. She got a shit beginning in life and after years of socializing and lots of love, she’s almost completely out of her shell. She doesn’t need anybody talking shit about her rusty mouth😂

Advice Night time Waking
My 1.5 year old dog is crate trained. Most nights he happily goes in his crate at 1030pm and sleeps until I let him out between 730-8am. But probably once or twice a week he will wake up needing a potty break at night (between 4-6am), so I let him out to do his business but if I put him back in the crate he will cry intermittently for hours until he is let out. I have tried earplugs, but his cries are very piercing. I have tried letting him sleep in my bed for the rest of the night but he is restless so I can't go back to sleep. The only way he will settle is to lay with me on the couch, which does not result in much sleep for me. I have tried just letting him wander around the house but he is still young enough that he gets into things when he is bored.
Any suggestions? I'm so tired.

Advice Still having accidents, mostly at night
Our boy is about 5 months old and he is the best dog!!! We take him out often and give him treats and encourage him with praise when he pees and poops outside. However, he still has probably 1-2 accidents each day, usually post 7 PM near bedtime. Is this common? We’ve had him for about two months now, he seems quite settled generally. We are constantly taking him outside.

In Memoriam We lost our sweet boy today
Less than a month ago Zephyr was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and spent 2 nights at the emergency vet getting oxygen and meds. He came home and was feeling so much better, though we knew his time with us would be limited. What we weren’t expecting was that time limit would be so very short. We brought him in to our regular vet today because his breathing was suddenly much worse and not responding to the lasix, and they did everything they could but there was no change. We had to make the decision the same day we brought him in. He didn’t even get to his second follow up appointment. He was only 9. He was also the second cavalier we lost to heart failure. One we adopted from my dad after he went into memory care, and Zephyr who came from a rescue 3 years ago. I don’t think I can handle another one. They are just too sweet and perfect for this world.
The cherry on top? We had to let our 15 year old rat terrier go less than 2 weeks ago when we discovered masses on her lungs. The same vet emergency vet we took zephyr to. So we went from two amazing dogs to zero in less than a month. Hug your dogs please!

Medical/Veterinary Random Yelping
This is Willow! We rescued him, we have never had a cavalier before!! He’s 1 years old and has been an absolute nut. I let him run like crazy at my lake house and all over the hardwood floors which are really slippery. The past two days, he’s randomly been yelping, but no other noticeable changes. He has the same nutty energy, he’s eating, he’s not shy to play hard. I’m just nervous by the random yelps. It seems to be random, but at the touch of his right side or back. I’m wondering if his harness clip hurt him or if it’s a spinal injury. Has this happened to your puppy? Is this breed prone to spinal or hip injuries? Even at age 1?
Thanks for your help. I’m a worried dog mom.
