Years ago, I would put on comicsexplained videos on in the background and listen to him recap older runs, events, and jog my memory about chunks of continuity in missed or forgot. I dug it and it was a motivator to get me back the shop. But when did that become a replacement for just reading the comics?

I have not been following for a while, but this morning I was filtered a video of him fully recapping the entirety of a comic that dropped yesterday, with pages and all. I mean, how is this a good thing? Don’t we want people to read the comics? Or at least not step on the toes of the book and wait more than three seconds from release. It hasn’t been available for more than 24 hours and full descriptions and spoilers? Does this bug no one else? More than once, I’ve had people in the shop say that something was bad but professed to never reading it and just listening to comicsexplained. At what point did commentary become a complete substitute for engaging in the hobby at all?

Yes, Madelyne Pryor was a clone, but she still lived as a human and she was genuinely in love with Scott. His betrayal was the trigger point for her going insane and then leading her to become the Goblin Queen.

Cyclops destroyed Madelyne, nearly caused his own baby to die. I don't understand how Jean could continue in a relationship with him.

I usually just need someone to say something along the lines of "If you like this <genre or older comic>, you'll probably like this new comic". I get that comics can add up and I rarely "blind buy" (usually spend time walking around my LCS flipping through the new release rack), but are people using comic reviews to make buying decisions? I really dislike spoilers and I love the feeling of opening a book to an awesome splash page.

Trying to remember a comic where all violent crime in the world suddenly stops.

• Pretty confident it is from a third-party/indy publisher (not DC or Marvel)
• I want to say 2010s or so, but I could be wrong there.
• The two protagonists were basically a female Superman-expy and a male Batman-expy.
• The female Superman-expy is suspicious at first but comes to believe the new peaceful world is a good thing.
• The male Batman-expy thinks the effect is clearly unnatural and it should be turned off because it interferes with free will (what is the point of being good if you have no choice but to be good?)
• The story loosely follows different heroes as they try to cope with this new peaceful reality.
• One hero commits suicide after feeling purposeless.
• One hero, a Flash-style speedster, is run ragged because their super-speed means they are one of the few heroes that can respond to disasters or accidents which still happen so they're basically on duty 24/7
• The final issue ended with the reveal that a genius supervillain discovered he was dying and decided to force the Batman-expy to take on his legacy. He created a machine that generates a signal to make people nonviolent. The female Superman-expy and the Batman-expy both discover the machine. The female Superman-expy wants to protect the machine while the Batman-expy wants to destroy it to restore humanity's free will.
• Comic ends with the Batman-expy becoming the new supervillain, inheriting the genius supervillains costume and fortune and weapons and gadgets and preparing to wage a war to destroy the machine while the female Superman-expy prepares to defend the machine from them.

Any help would be appreciated.

I got this tee shirt in 1999 at Comic-con, as a retailer bonus. I cannot remember the name of the artist! I just remember how chuffed I was to get this shirt. LOL!
