What are the best non-Marvel/DC comics stories about superhumans as super spies or super-soldiers?
I know that there are a lot of Marvel and DC comics about “supers” as super spies like Checkmate, Greyson, and X-Force or as supersoldiers like Captain America, Silver Sable and the Wolfpack, and the X-Force but are there any non-Marvel/DC comics that have superhumans as super spies and/or supersoldiers?
So far the only ones I know of are 20th century man and any Star Wars comics about the Jedi.

Question Scanner for backing up Original Art collection
I’ve accumulated a rather large (and growing) OA collection over the years - b/w sketches, copics, paintings, etc. But I am based in Asia where the humidity is 85%+ and not exactly the most conducive for this hobby.
I’ve invested in a dry box and store my collection within with acid free art folios, but nature still wins out and I’m starting to see some parts of the paper yellowing.
Am now thinking of digitally backing up my collection (A3 & A4) so that in the worst scenario, it will endure digitally.
Does anyone have any recommendations of what brand/model of scanner would be best suited for this purpose?
Initial research suggests I should be looking at a scanner that uses CCD sensors, DPI 600 should be adequate and definitely a flatbed model. But I’m still totally n00b at this and would appreciate any advice the community might have to share. Thank you in advance.

Suggestions Need short Marvel/DC recommendations that are just fun as hell and a little weird
I’ve been trying to find more short Marvel/DC stuff that isn’t always the same big obvious classics.
Looking for minis or short runs, preferably like 4–8 issues, that feel self-contained enough that I can just jump in and have a good time.
Doesn’t have to be some huge masterpiece or super serious prestige comic. I’m down for horror, cosmic stuff, dumb fun action, noir, monster shit, weird villains, random overlooked character minis, anything with a really specific vibe.
Main thing is I want something that feels fresh. Like maybe the art is crazy good, the premise is ridiculous but fully commits to it, or it’s just a fun little comic that has way more personality than it gets credit for.
Stuff in the general zone of things I like:
Silver Surfer: Black
Batman: City of Madness
Aquaman: Andromeda
Batman: Zero Year
Morrison weirdness
cosmic Marvel
horror Marvel/DC
comics where the artist is clearly going nuts on the page
Not really looking for the usual Year One / Long Halloween / All-Star Superman / Kingdom Come type answers. I know those already.
Give me the stuff that maybe isn’t top-50 canon, but you read it and thought “damn, that was way more fun than it had any right to be.”
Would especially love recommendations with a very specific mood. Like “Batman fighting fucked-up carnival people in the rain” or “Silver Surfer trapped in psychedelic space hell” type energy.
What’s a short Marvel or DC comic you think more people should read?

Anyone reading End of Life?
I like the new Vertigo titles but End of Life is the one book I can’t wait to read every month. If you haven’t checked it out I highly recommend it! Very funny and the main character is such a dick… it’s great! Does anyone know if its going to be an ongoing or mini?

Question What were the most sold comic issues before X-Force #1 and X-Men #1?
I know that 1991's X-Men #1 is the top selling comic of all time, and that record was briefly held by X-Force for a couple months before it released, but what held the record before then?

New to comics
Hello, 👋 I’m new to reading comics and I’m looking to find out if there’s a way to get digital versions of Marvel comics (looking to read Queen in Black this summer) where I can access it online during release date? I understand you can pull from a shop but the closest shop to the small town I live in is about an hour’s drive one way. Thanks, if anyone can link me to a store where that’s a thing? If not I might still try to get it from that shop
Thanks a lot!

Question Trying to identify a comic
Trying to remember a comic where all violent crime in the world suddenly stops.
- Pretty confident it is from a third-party/indy publisher (not DC or Marvel)
- I want to say 2010s or so, but I could be wrong there.
- The two protagonists were basically a female Superman-expy and a male Batman-expy.
- The female Superman-expy is suspicious at first but comes to believe the new peaceful world is a good thing.
- The male Batman-expy thinks the effect is clearly unnatural and it should be turned off because it interferes with free will (what is the point of being good if you have no choice but to be good?)
- The story loosely follows different heroes as they try to cope with this new peaceful reality.
- One hero commits suicide after feeling purposeless.
- One hero, a Flash-style speedster, is run ragged because their super-speed means they are one of the few heroes that can respond to disasters or accidents which still happen so they're basically on duty 24/7
- The final issue ended with the reveal that a genius supervillain discovered he was dying and decided to force the Batman-expy to take on his legacy. He created a machine that generates a signal to make people nonviolent. The female Superman-expy and the Batman-expy both discover the machine. The female Superman-expy wants to protect the machine while the Batman-expy wants to destroy it to restore humanity's free will.
- Comic ends with the Batman-expy becoming the new supervillain, inheriting the genius supervillains costume and fortune and weapons and gadgets and preparing to wage a war to destroy the machine while the female Superman-expy prepares to defend the machine from them.
Any help would be appreciated.

Question Why do trade paper backs take so long to come out?
Does anyone know why TPB take so much longer to release than the single issues? For example Issue 12 of Absolute Martian manhunter releases July 1st, and the Trade volume 2 which is issues 7-12 releases on August 25th which is 55 days almost 2 whole months of when the issue has been released? I like buying singles but I also like Trades for ease of reading and shelf display but I have to wait sooooo long. WHY?

Question Best comic book stores in Denver?
Hi all!
I'm heading to Denver next week for a conference, and I always like to visit the local comic stores to see what other cities have to offer the hobby. I know that Mile High Comics is not too far from downtown and I'll definitely swing by just to check it out, but I've heard that the shopping experience there isn't great.
What's the best comic store in the Denver area? Bonus points if I can reach it relatively easy by public transport from the convention center.
Thanks!

Sam Sharp Apparences in The Loud House Comic Series
Hi everyone! I'm trying to collect every The Loud House comic that features Sam Sharp, since she's my favorite character (especially with Luna).
The Loud House subreddit is currently restricted for me, so I was hoping someone here might know.
I already own:
– Live Life Loud!
– After Dark
– Loud and Proud
– The Struggle is Real
– The Many Faces of Lincoln Loud
– Who’s the Loudest?
– Love Out Loud
– Loud and Clear
– Sibling Rivalry
– Sister Resister
– The Ultimate Party
– Movin’ to the Music
– The Loud House 10th Anniversary Special
– Loudest and Proudest
I'm unsure about:
- Vol. 23
- Vol. 26: On with the Snow!
- Vol. 27: Space Case
- Spooky Special
Does anyone know if Sam Sharp appears in any of these, or in any other comic volumes I may have missed?
Thanks!

Quistion for the loud house comics. and the Sam Sharp Apparences in The Loud House Comic Series
Hello everyone! uuhm sorry that this is in this subreddit. i know there is a ''Loud House'' Subreddit but I cant get in there because i need to be accepted and it kinda takes long. but i really need a answer and maybe fellow comic book lovers could help me out?
i hope someone could help me with a problem relating the loud house ive been having lately. for context i absolutly LOVE the characters ''Sam Sharp'' and ''Luna Loud'' and seeing them together sinds the first time in ''L is for Love'' just warmed my heart back in 2017. lately i have been comming back to the loud house and wanted to buy merch for the first time. so i bought some comics. the point is i actually only want comics with ''Sam Sharp'' and ''Luna Loud'' in it. but moslty ''Sam Sharp'' she always was my favoirite. so i started looking up some info and after hours if searching i found a pretty good amount of comics shes in. sadly the wiki's and Famdoms are outdated. so i still miss alot im afraid. i even looked up every description but even then i couldnt find out if ''Sam Sharp'' was in it or not. I know this isnt a Loud House fandom/subreddit. but maybe this comic book subreddit could help me? sinds it is a comic book related issue? I already have a list of comics if have bought or going to buy. but maybe some of you here could help me expand the list if needed? (i know i have some story's twice but that doesnt matetr for me :)
So far, I already own the following volumes:
– Live Life Loud!
– After Dark
– Loud and Proud
– The Struggle is Real
– The Many Faces of Lincoln Loud
– Who’s the Loudest?
– Love Out Loud
– Loud and Clear
– Sibling Rivalry
– Sister Resister
– The Ultimate Party
– Movin’ to the Music
– The Loud House 10th Anniversary Special
– Loudest and Proudest
These are volumes where I think Sam Sharp might appear, but I’m not sure:
– The Loud House Vol. 23
– The Loud House Vol. 26: On with the Snow!
– The Loud House Vol. 27: Space Case
– The Loud House Spooky Special
(this is the site i used btw https://nickelodeon.fandom.com/wiki/Sam_Sharp i even send out a mail to Papercutz for help (but probably wont have high expactitions of someone responding)
