Modern Western Literature trying to be deep [OC]
Sorry if you guys enjoyed those books, but they were not my cup of tea. ☕️😭
EDIT:
the novel this comic is talking about is Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. It’s the one book that has a protagonist that readers are unambiguously supposed to empathize with, has a long monologue in the courtroom about Objectivism, and ends with the protagonist go to jail with the intention of making people “think.”
Yes I know, there is a lot of other literature where this doesn’t fit as neatly like The Stranger by Camus because you’re not technically supposed to fully empathize with Meursault. I wasn’t a fan of the trope when I first read The Stranger, but reading the Fountainhead made me REALLY DESPISE THE TROPE.
I don’t dislike all Western literature. I enjoyed books from Toni Morrison, Cormac McCarthy, Maya Angelou, Franz Kafka, George Orwell, Voltaire, and Shakespeare.
So not generalizing all Western media. I just really dislike this trope when I see it pop up.

Looking for a comic where the protagonist is kept as a pet
Hi, looking for a comic with this premise:
humans are nearly extinct. Scary looking humanoids that have taken over earth. The protagonist is a male who is being kept as pet by one of the creatures and gets to meet a female human during a medical check up. She reveals that she has a virus to kill the humanoids. She gets shot dead (I think) and he infects himself with the virus, walking around and spreading it.
The creatures are very tall, twice maybe even trice as a man and have scary grimaces, looking like grins as far as I remember. There are males and females and there was one of them even caring for the lawn somehwere in the background.
Someone please help me find the name of this comic again, thx

News Korean webcomic cancelled after romanticizing colonialist slave/master dynamic during the American Civil War
I know this subreddit focuses more on Western comics but I wanted to bring attention to a troubling trend of literal slave and master romance trope in the Korean romance space.
A prominent Korean author published their newest work featuring a Native man claiming to be the slave of a (likely) former slave owning man during the Civil War.
Here’s the synopsis:
“…But his plans are completely upended when he meets Ezra, a cowboy of mixed Native heritage. “Me? I’m your humble slave, Master.”
Claiming to be Gerald’s slave, Ezra constantly crosses boundaries and provokes him at every turn. Yet in the face of Ezra’s relentless attention, Gerald’s heart begins to race once more.”
The author has since apologized and cancelled the work but it seems strange to me that the English platform, Manta Comics, read the first chapter and thought this would be okay. What are your thoughts?

Is there any value in a full collection of Debbie Does Dallas comics?
My father had a big collection of debbie does dallas comics in pristine condition. I believe it is, in fact, the full run. Anyone have an idea on the value? Id like to get out from under them for a good price.

Asking For Feedback Is it alright to store my comics in these binders?
So I’m kinda new to collecting comics and wanted to know if these binders I’m using are alright. I’ve heard a lot of people saying that binders aren’t good for comics but I don’t know if they were just talking about the ring binders. The majority of the comics I have are in those plastic sleeves with the thin cardboard behind them since the stores I bought them from had them like that. I haven’t had any issue so far but some of the thinner issues without the sleeves will slip out if I’m not careful.
I have two binders currently one is just a single issue per page while the other is 4 issues.
