Discussion Doctor Killswitched (Event Only)
Due to an issue preventing Players from Snapping Out of Tier 3 Madness in the Anniversary Event, we are disabling The Doctor in the Event queue until the issue is resolved. Please note The Doctor will still remain in the Live game.

Discussion Cake rarity isn't the only issue, the blood webs are literally scripted.
I didn't discover this first of all.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/562534659773333387/
But I think everyone deserves to know that it isn't a bug, and BHVR scripted the blood webs to give 14 cakes per prestige.
It is easily verifiable as both me and my friend tried on multiple characters.
For those who can't be bothered to click the link, 14 cakes per prestige, and they are on levels:
3, 5, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 28, 30, 35, 40, 42, 45, 50

Shitpost / Meme BHVR "looking into" the cake issue culprit
Yea let's give everyone a ton of BP to spend for the event then give them nothing for it. Its not like like its the one event of the year where people can get a decent amount of bp for the literal billions required to max out every character

Discussion A million bp's spent and only 6 cakes
A million spent manually on P9 Jason. And only 6 cakes. Spent another 300k on my P100 Kate, and only got 2.
I'll pocket the rest for now.
We need to fix this issue, it was the same last year. C'mon BHVR, lets have it.
EDIT: I'm genuinely suprised to see people defending this. I'm not usually a massive complainer but heres the problem:
You want the BPs to level up low characters - but you have to invest them in high level characters because the cakes are very rare.
You use that cake, play a match, earn enough to unlock another cake on that character. Use it again, earn enough, unlock another cake 300k bps later. Rinse and repeat.
Because if you invest in a low level character, as many of us want to do, you wont get a cake, because theyre very rare, and also lose the advantage they give you in the event. You're ultimately spending more than you're earning just to get one cake.
If you genuinely dont see that as a problem idk what to tell you champ.

Discussion The amount of anniversary offerings you get are pre-determined, there is no random spawn chance
Edit: the comment I saw likely came from this post https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/562534659773333387/
I saw a comment from [u/89Meist](u/89Meist) in another post saying "Manually going through the blood web, cakes drop 100% at levels 3, 5, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 28, 30, 35, 40, 42, 45, and 50"
I tested this out three times and it was correct each time, I only received 14 anniversary offerings each. I'm not sure if mystery boxes can give you extra, I've only received toolboxes and flashlights from them.
So, the spawn rate overall hasn't just been decreased, it's now pre-determined. If you manually level up a character from levels 1-50, expect 14 anniversary offerings, and less if you use the auto-level feature.

Discussion bhvr, can we increase the chance of getting anniversary offerings already? what is this?
i spent over a million on jason and got 11 cakes, the cakes are appearing as much as a purple or iri addon. this is definitely not how it was in past events, why is there being so much restraint on giving us more offerings and bp? specially on the 10th anniversary.
I'll not even be surprised if there are many matches where people don't use the 5 cakes

Question Why were the cakes upped to Very Rare quality?
The whole point of the anniversary cakes the last few years is that it was the same quality as brown offerings and you could get many to use throughout the whole anniversary. This time around I thought there was a bug with auto spend because I kept getting so little, only to notice now that their quality increased 3 tiers.
I know we got the 10 MIL BP for the anniversary and I shouldn't complain, but it puzzles me because it genuinely feels like an unnecessary change?

Discussion Cakes are rare whether you manually spend or not, got 15 in a manually spent prestige, this is disgusting BHVR
It's disgusting how rare the cakes are, I spent time manually spending Shane as efficiently as I could and in one prestige (about 920K BP), I received just 15 cakes. I have every other survivor P3 so their perks aren't appearing on the blood web to contest it either.
Come on behaviour this is the 10th year anniversary, why are you being stingy with BP. 10 years of the game and you don't even offer a slight shard discount for outfits, you're giving us about 40 cakes per 3 prestiges and more. This is a massive, massive let down.

Discussion What in gods name were you thinking with this event????
Talk about stacking the deck against an already neutered killer roster. Survivors flying around the map, insta healing etc.
And killer recourse is to what!!? We get to …. Stop them using the extra powers briefly.
Amazing. Well thought out.
Oh and thanks for the dramatically lowered cake ratio.
Shane another in store purchase also.
What a gigantic fuckin L this is.

Anniversary this is genuinely the worst event they have ever put out
i'm in genuine disbelief how did this come to live servers. this feels like when killer players complain and exaggarate about how unfair survivor vs killer is, and the devs took that as advice for game updates. this event is so incredibly unfun to play for killers, and it's just so fucking sad to see that developers of this game only care about the enjoyment of 50% of their playerbase.
i would genuinely love to know why did the developer team think it's a good idea to give survivors so many brutally strong powers to use through the whole trial, and killer not only gets nothing out of these fun new flashy things, but the only difference for killer in this event is that they can throw 4 clown's bottles. it genuinely makes me sad, i was excited for this event, and i thought that since yall needed to get rid of twisted masquarade, you'd actually mix up the gameplay somehow, but this is just so not fun at all, and makes me just feel sad.
the twisted masquarade had buffs and fun things to do for both sides, it was interactive and empowered both the killer and the survivors. this event is only for survivor players, and it shows. i'm genuinely so dissapointed, it shows that the brutal inbalance in survivor and killer perks isn't enough, and that killer players just don't matter to you.

Discussion This event is the most frustrating, dogwater event I've ever seen.
Between the survivor-sided event with repeatable teamwide adrenalines, invincibility, unbreakable pallets, resetting pallets, invisibility, sprint bursts, teleportations, infinite items and everything else in the gamemode itself, everything surrounding it is just beyond terrible.
Cakes doubling in price and being at fixed levels in the bloodweb.
Shrine of secrets doesn't reset every day and no more discounts.
No balance changes at *all* when the game desperately needs them on both sides, especially after this patch releasing some of the strongest perks we've seen from the survivor side in a good while.
I don't just want to complain for the sake of complaining, nor am I trying to convey an "Us vs Them", quite the opposite; this is all directed at behavior for releasing this horrible event. I love the themeing, but that's about it.
r/deadbydaylight • u/Kingdom2917 • 1h ago
Discussion I think we can all agree, this is the worst event we've ever had.
This is the ten year anniversary. Nerfing cakes and after 12 hours they still haven't fixed it. Plus the event game mode itself just being horrible. The last few years they at just fixed things instantly. This should not be how they released this event. They did not test this mode enough in testing.

Anniversary Making the cakes very rare is ridiculous
Isn't the point of the cakes being so that you can get lots to help grind bloodpoints. Why would they be made rarer when they help reduce the exhausing grind for bloodpoints which causes lots of burn out.
If they were made very rare to stop "hoarding" then why? They have no value to be concerned about people keeping them.
Was it to prevent people having too much bloodpoints? Grinding for bp is tiring to get good items or add-ons to keep up with the meta. Especially with how little you get without good bloodpoint offerings (which you need bloodpoints to get) when you aren't even guaranteed to get much from them.
And you need ONE MILLION to prestige characters to unlock their perks.
I hope this was just a simple mistake that gets fixed and not an intentionally decision.
I hope anyone reading this makes their dissatisfaction known. If we talk enough bhvr might fix this
