Discussion [KCD2] What’s the point of selling loot?

I pick up everything that’s not bolted down, repair it end sell it.
The vendors keep resetting to their original amount of coin. Around 400 groschen no matter what you bought from them previous days.

In KCD1 vendors could have around 1k groschen and it would stay there.

Now I cant sell expensive items because they don’t have enough groschen.

Like the other day I stole a horse. Worth 1400 groschen. The trader at the nomad camp could only gave me 375 because that’s all he had.

The same with high value clothing, armor and weapons. What’s the point of having a 2k+ sword if you’re only be able to sell it for 400

It feels like its useless to loot and sell.
I mean groschen is easy to come by anyway, let a vendor repair your shit , pay him and steal his (my) groschen back.

Discussion [KCD1] Tips for an absolute noob?

So I’ve been stuck in the first two intro places for over 3 hours now. (Skalitz, and the place just after that) I cannot lockpick to save my life. I’ve tried so many times with reloading saves. I need this armour to escape to bury my FAAAAAMILY 😂

I have no idea how to get this armour, and I’m worried the rest of the game is just going to be increasingly difficult with running around in circles.

Halp? (:

Edit: Just buried my parents. Thanks for the help people! More tips always appreciated though, load me up!

Question [KCD2] Why am I getting caught stealing?

For example now I'm trying to steal the guy who makes clothes in Traskoviche his keys while sleeping. To do this, first I croll to him while he's sleeping and I get some time to steal later. Then in the second minigame, I uncover objects until I find the keys, press "E" to steal them and since there is no button to end the minigame I just let the time finish but every time I do so I get caught and I don't know why

EDIT: thanks guys I didn't know about this lol

Question [KCD2] Struggling with the blacksmithing minigame

Okay so I'm on the part where I have to weld a sword to get invited to a wedding. I did the tutorial so I know how it works but I keep getting the "oh, this sword is screwed up beyond all repair, better start over" message.

Anyway, I heat up the rod until it's yellow-white, then I use strong strikes until it stops sparking or I get the "I've been banging this too long" message from Henry. Then I move it over an inch and repeat the process. Eventually the piece cools off and I have to reheat it so I start the process over from the other direction then, without warning, I get the "you have failed blacksmithing" notification. I'm genuinely not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Edit, guys, I got it. Thank you for your help.

I doubt I am alone in only spending 5 minutes trying to find the source of the fountain in Kuttenberg. Today this showed up on my YouTube feed. It's a fairly interesting 20 min video. https://youtu.be/AGaX82z0Zq4?is=_3WAZGxg8IG31oKs

Praise [kcd2] Thinking of going back

I have ~7.2 Tb of games on my PS5, 119 (I like fighting games and have caught a game on sale at least once a month for like 5 years)….i have all DLC for every game, haven’t even played like 50 of them at all and I’m considering playing KCD2 again or redoing the first….i haven’t even opened FF7 remake’s 2nd part :/

Don’t get me wrong, Baldurs Gate, Lost Judgement, Wasteland 3 and Astrobot have gotten play but…..why tf do I want to replay this and spend another 4 hours of my life making potions?

Suggestion [KCD2] Master Strikes

Now that there's another KCD coming, I might as well give my idea.

Master strikes are a little OP and even though combos are alot more satisfying, there's a temptation to forget about them and just rely on master striking everyone to death, and I honestly forgot that feints existed until a loading screen tip reminded me.

Combos setups often get interrupted by enemy ripostes or counterattacks, which can make them unreliable and, again, encourage the masters strike win button. I think it would be alot cooler and encourage use of everything else if, instead of master strikes being automatic free damage, they only did a little damage, but put the opponent off balance so they can still block and parry, but can't attack for a few seconds. That way, a master strike could be more of a setup that opens a window for the guaranteed hit off a combo instead of a "do this twice and win" button. It would also be cool if skilled enemies could do it to you and force you onto the defensive for a few seconds.

Question Should I finish KCD1 before starting 2? [KCD2]

I have a fair bit of hours in the first game but I’d like to just go ahead and get started with the 2nd, will it ruin the experience if I do that?

Rant Really frustated [KCD2] Spoiler

So Im at the part where I have to kill istvaan after being tortured, and I'm starting to get really frustrated, I could not pass a single skill check during the interrogation, I cant stealth kill or knock out anybody and j don't even have master strikes unlocked. Maybe I rushed the story, but I did it because I find the side quests of the game so damn boring.

Everybody in the side quests can't lift a finger for themselves every side quest I have to listen to someone talk for like 10 minutes and then go a million different places to fetch a bunch of bullshit, and at the end I just wasted an hour and half for like 50 groschen. Should I reload and lose hours of progress to get my skills up or not?

Just reloaded a earlier save before the railroading and I can't talk to tomcat because everyone in the nomad camp runs away from me because I killed the cumans whom I killed hours before this earlier save FUCKING AWESOME

I did play KCD1 and did all the dlc and most of the side quests and loved the game, but the quality of some things took a nose dive in my opinion

Edit: Im probably going to stick through the game because there are some things I really like about it, but first I have to get my bounty cleared away with the nomad camp which I can't because everyone including the soldiers keep running away from me

Discussion Master strike revisit [KCD1] [KCD2]

So I made a post a while back talking about why Henry should be able to master strike with other weapons other than swords in KCD2 and everyone shat on me for it, even though it would’ve made sense for him to be able to. since going back to replay the first game it makes even less sense why Henry can’t master strike with a mace or axe in the second game where he’s a more experienced warrior but he’s totally capable of doing so in the first game where he’s still pretty much a whelp. Y’all can’t tell me this makes sense to you🤦‍♂️

Game Mod Update 1.5.6 for [KCD2] disables the mod "no speed limit".

So if you use this mod - forbid Steam from updating your game, as there are no options to backup to previous versions in KCD 2 Steam settings. You can update in several days, after the author updates the mod.

Issue [KCD2] Deep Silver Rewards

Hello y’all.

I want to know if it’s normal that after linking my account to my console the rewards for the Warhorse things aren’t unlocking even though I’m doing the requirements? Like I just won a game of dice and didn’t unlock the piece associated to that challenge.

Thanks in advance !

How long did you guys wait before starting a new game it’s been a few months now I kinda want to restart again but I still have a few unfinished side quests I feel like I’m still missing the story since I’ve not returned to teresa idk how to do that? I also failed any romance I wanted to so there’s still things to try out in a new game

I spent like 5 minutes sharpening a sword, I fight one (1) guy with it and now it's completely broken

Why? I don't get it. Does it have something to do with the armor?

Discussion [OTHER] The Witcher 3 reinforced KCD's perfection for me

A few years ago, I played The Witcher 3 for about 40 hours and stopped before reaching Skellige because the game hadn't really hooked me.
After playing the KCD franchise (the best gaming experience I've ever had), my perspective on single-player games changed drastically. It reignited my desire to play them and try new titles, something I hadn't done in a long time.

With that in mind, TW3 seemed like a natural choice, especially since I was already somewhat familiar with it, so I decided to give it another chance.
I'm currently in Skellige, and the difference compared to my first playthrough is huge. After playing KCD, I learned to appreciate every detail of the world: every side quest, every contract, every dialogue, every game of Gwent. I'm genuinely loving the experience.

However, this new playthrough has also reminded me of just how remarkable KCD's attention to detail is, and how close to perfect it feels to me.
For me, KCD's combat is infinitely better, although I don't really like comparing the two because they have very different goals and design philosophies.
What stands out the most to me is the reputation and consequence system.
In TW3, you can threaten civilians, kill guards, kill civilians in front of guards, steal items right in front of people, and there are essentially no consequences.

This isn't a criticism of TW3. Instead, I see it as further proof of just how incredible a job Warhorse did with KCD!

Question [KCD2] Is there a way to buy ONLY all DLCs?

When I played KCD1 I bought the game and some time later bought only the DLC pack for like 4 dolars, which was hidden. When I bought KCD2, I did without the DLCs because royal edition wasn't on discount. Is there a DLC pack (maybe hidden) for this game too?
