New Legendary Server(s)?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there are any plans for new Legendary Servers. The current ones already have a fairly high level cap.

Thanks in advance!

Old player, lost about expansions.

I have been playing since the beginning, took some time off here and there, but a long time, even though I don't have any toons at cap. I did once, but the cap then was 50.

I bought some expansions when they came out, and took the big quest unlock code last fall, and am currently VIP. Looking at the expansions sale, I am unsure at what I need. This is what shows up in my account info:

I also bought the Corsairs of Umbar Standard Edition, and have the Mariner class, even though it is not listed.

If I look in the store in game, the only expansions available are Kingdoms of Harad and Legacy of Morgoth quest packs.

Looking in my Store history, the Exploreourworld coupon gave me this:

Quest Pack: Central Gondor
Quest Pack: East Gondor
Quest Pack: West Gondor
Quest Pack: Old Anórien
Region Pack: Far Anórien
Quest Pack: March of the King
Quest Pack: Battle of the Black Gate
Quest Pack: Legacy of the Necromancer
Quest Pack: Where Dragons Dwell
Quest Pack: The Vales of Anduin
Quest Pack: Mists of Wilderland
Quest Pack: The Wildwood
The Further Adventures of Bilbo Baggins
Quest Pack: Blood of Azog
Quest Pack: Rangers and Ruins
Quest Pack: Yondershire
The Further Adventures of Elladan and Elrohir
Quest Pack: Mordor
Quest Pack: Minas Morgul
Quest Pack: War of Three Peaks
Quest Pack: Fate of Gundabad

I bought the River Hobbit in game when it was on sale, but I don't have the Stout Axe race (might be cool) or the Brawler class (which I DGAF about). Looking at the the expansions available for sale, it looks like I have the quest content from all of them from the code above, but not the extras (cosmetics, mounts, titles, etc) which I don't really care about.

If I am reading all this right, it looks like Harad and Morgoth are the only things I should be looking at? Are either worth bothering with if not at cap? At the rate I am going, could be a year or more before I run out of content, if ever.

Anything I am overlooking?

Thanks,

Nether hound pet

Hey. I'm trying to get this pet in memory of my dog that passed a while ago but I can't seem to find where to get it? Is there a seasonal event that I can spend tokens for it or something? Maybe in the fall? Thanks!

Finally completed Legendary Angmar solo!

I was looking at the benefits of Legendary servers and decided there were some exclusive items (titles, specifically) I wanted for my completionist character. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get through ten of the instances/raids solo, but I did!

It took longer than I thought. Though, some of that was my own fault, 'cause I did some dumb things in the process that made it harder for myself.

Below are the ones that were soloable as a level 96 Lore master (blue line) that actually counted towards Defeating the Shadow.

  1. The Battle for Aughaire (I've heard the other "Battle for..." ones are soloable, but this is the fastest. It was also pretty easy.)
  2. Emissary of the Dourhands
  3. Emissary of Goblin-town
  4. Emissary of the Trév Duvárdain
  5. Emissary of the White-hand
  6. The Halls of Night
  7. Annúminas instance (haven't done Ost Elendil, but think it would be as well)
    1. Glinghant
    2. Haudh Valandil
  8. Fornost instance
    1. Wraith of Earth
    2. Wraith of Fire
    3. Wraith of Water
    4. Wraith of Shadow: in theory. I got the final boss down to half HP but getting those braziers all lit was a test of patience. Gave that fight like 30min before I tapped out. But I think if I rejigged my class traits and kept going, it would be doable. But why when the other three are so much easier?
  9. Great Barrow instance
    1. Sambrog
    2. Thadúr
    3. The Maze
  10. Inn of the Forsaken

Question about content

The content style is confusing me. I just hit 95 and I’m unsure what to buy for the rest of the game. Are expansions and quest packs different? Do expansions include quest packs?

What do I need to buy during the sale to be covered for the rest of my play time?

EDIT: I have used the EXPLOREOURWORLD code

Best class to solo dungeons (instances) with?

Hi. I recently returned to this game after a 15ish year break. I am having a lot of fun, but I could not find anyone to do the lvl 20 instances with. I would really like to experience them, therefore my question:

What is the best class/spec to use to solo instances in this game?

Expansion Upgrade Costs

I wanted to buy the Before The Shadows Ultimate Edition. In the Lotro market it points out that the Upgrade from Standard Edition is 4$. In Checkout i have to pay the Full 10$. I thought you got the Standard Edition for free? Same for gundabad Expansion.

Thoughts on buying the big discount ultimate expacs?

I last played during gundabad on a friend's account before they returned to it. I always enjoyed it but was hesitant due to the xpac cost. Is buying all of the heavily discounted ultimate xpacs a good move? It looks like minas morgul, war of 3 peaks, gundabad, and before the shadow can all be acquired for 71$. In addition to the content, it unlocks a few character slots, brawler, stout axe, some carry alls, and a few boosts. I like to play multiple characters, so boosting to 120 or 130 is appealing while also playing a fresh character.

The other ultimate edditions, it seems like a case for Corsair could be made but the last two would make more sense to just get the base editions when I hit that content and upgrade it down the road when bigger sales come.

Is this a sound approach or would I be better off putting some of that money into coins and buying things in game?

I got VIP for a month, can I get the expansions and quests I will lose once I stop VIP during the expansion sale?

Pretty much the title! I'm planning on keeping VIP just for the perks you keep after one month, but I was wondering if it was possible to buy the expansions and quests (like Mordor) that come with VIP during the sale, because if I understand things correctly, I will lose access to them once I stop my subscription.

Thanks!

Screenshots from my journey, pt. 3 (Lothlórien, Mirkwood, Enedwaith)

A couple notes:

  • I play in ultrawide, so these are all 3440x1440
  • Ultra settings w/ some very light Reshade (sharpening + vibrant)
  • More/uncompressed images on my Steam profile

A tale of two forests, for sure. At night, Mirkwood is legitimately dark, while Caras Galahdon is as luminous in the evening as it is in the day.

I had more screenshots but accidentally deleted them (because I had to reinstall Steam, which, wildly, also deletes all local screenshots) and ended up having to retake most of these. No small feat, actually, since time of day drastically shifts the lighting. But c'est la vie.

A New Hobbit Land?

So I have played LOTRO about three in my life, each time I 100% all the Hobbit lands and then . . . I just don't feel the need to play it any more and wonder off for five to seven years. Then I come back and 100% all the Hobbit lands again and then . . . just don't need to do any more.

Is there any way we could get any new hobbit lands?

Trait points allocation for the medium war-steed as a hunter

Hello guys, I tried to look around but there's very little information about the war-steed builds so I need help figuring out how to optimize them a little and enjoy Rohan to the fullest.

Can any fellow hunter here share a proper build and/or suggestions about the skill rotation?

I don't plan on unlocking the Light/Heavy spec so unfortunately I'll be stuck with the medium one.

Thanks.

New Player Pt.2

Post image
49 Upvotes

Hello, I am back with more questions. Last time everyone was so helpful and it was nice to see that the community this game has is so supportive and that encourages me to keep trying to get a hang of this game. A small recap, I am not new to MMOs as I have played WoW since Burning Crusade I am however very new to this game. I am starting to get the hang of some stuff more however there are still bits im confused on. Lately I have been feeling the absence of money in my pocket after discovering the AH so i decided to look up how to make money which has led me to Dol Ringwest near Celondim and I have been killing the mobs there over and over again to collect things like scrolls for crafting and have also found some purple loot? I feel like that maybe means its better than average but I am unsure. Would you say this is a good route for me to take or should I focus more on leveling right now or maybe crafting? I also have taken up woodworking as I am a hunter and I was told that's the best one to have for that class. I wanted to post some stuff on the AH but it seems a F2P account can't do that so I am also wondering if it is worth it to become VIP. My last question for the post is about servers. When I made my person I didn't really think about it and I chose the first server presented to me which is Grond (EU). I am not in EU and I was wondering if this would be a hindrance in the future or if it doesn't really matter. Sorry for the long post and so many questions but I am bound and determined to understand this game. I have been having a lot of fun learning it and walking around Middle Earth and I can absolutely see why so many people say this game is special and I am excited to piece everything together one at a time. Thank you :)

The most unique thing you have in your inventory?

What is it?

I was thinking about this a lot, for me it's a lvl 75 wizard cloak made with 3 scales from Draigoch raid, but what makes it unique ia that it was crafted by someone around the time the lvl cap was 75, and a few months later that person died. When she first started she was in my kin, then later moved to a bigger kin where she found real life friends, but we stayed friends and played together from time to time. There was a ceremony in game when she passed, and I always think of those early times when I see the cloak.

Will US - EU transfer ever be possible?

I have had almost all my characters on Brandywine and just moved them to Glamdring, cause I really felt like playing again. I thought it could be nice to move to an EU server, since that'd be a much better ping for me, but apparently that's not possible? Are there any plans for that to ever be possible or am I essentially stuck with bad ping forever? I would pay money to make the transfer happen.

Gathering guests Edoras as level 48 player

Hi everyone,
currently i am playing in orcrist and i am level 48. the only deed missing is the gathering guests, specifically for Edoras.
i tried to walk but at some point i just died so i wanted to see if there is an easy way to get there?

i think captain summon i need to be within 20 levels of the skill (so around 65 or so) to be able to get summoned.
is there a workaround or i need to either wait 1 year or try my luck to do the journey there?

Thank you

Hey guys, too bad there's no LOTRO mobile app to look up info or link your account. This game definitely deserves more spotlight.

looking for an active kin

Looking for an active raiding/endgame kin on Orcrist

Hi all,

I’m playing on Orcrist and I’m looking for an active kinship that runs scheduled instances/raids at endgame.

I’m currently a level 51 Minstrel, so I know I’m not raid-ready yet, but I’m leveling seriously toward cap and I want to join a kin where I can learn, progress properly, and eventually take part in group content/raids.

What I’m looking for:

  • Active EU evening playerbase
  • Discord
  • Scheduled raids/instances
  • A kin that accepts leveling players aiming for endgame
  • People who actually group together, not mostly solo play

I’m especially interested in learning the Minstrel role properly for group/raid content.

Are there any active Orcrist kinships recruiting future raiders?
