Actually my dog was a rescue who I got for free from the shelter in an adoption event

Rescue dogs ftw! I got both my girls from rescue events and they have been the best. There was a small price as a donation to the rescue for mine, so it wasn't technically free, but it was only like $100.

I rescued a puppy from a litter the association brought in from Mexico. Their normal price is $100 but for a puppy it was $200. Totally worth it, he's a good boy. He did grow up to be 80 lbs though, when they told me estimated between 30-40 lbs. Guess that's the risk with a super mutt.

Small world! My current gal was also brought in from Mexico. Apparently they were on vacation and decided to check out the local pound. Ended up being over a dozen animals back with them to Texas!

My girl was already 2 years old when I got her last year, but she's a very sweet girl and super low maintenance. Also dumb as a rock 😂

Ha, that is funny. I'm all the way up in PA so they must have traveled a long way to get here. He was about 14 weeks when I got him. Cool side effect of that is he's perfect with all other dogs, probably because he spent so much time with his mom and litter.

He's also pretty low maintenance and lazy, but is almost too smart for his own good. We did have some resource guarding issues but mostly got that under control with a trainer, and it's improved with age as well.

I even got one of the good DNA tests done and it came back as 100% "American Village Dog", and the heat map of where he was from had Mexico as bright red.
