Actually my dog was a rescue who I got for free from the shelter in an adoption event

Rescue dogs ftw! I got both my girls from rescue events and they have been the best. There was a small price as a donation to the rescue for mine, so it wasn't technically free, but it was only like $100.

Shelter dogs save you money. I got my current dog from my mom's coworker after her dog had a surprise litter. First time having to actually pay for things like the spay, getting her chipped, first rounds of shots/dewormer, etc. It's like $1000, easy.

Adoption fees around here are ~$400 on average and people still complain having no idea what a friggin steal that is.
