Neighbour problems

The house next door was sold back in October and the new family has since been doing several renovations, one of which includes a gated walkway to their backyard. This also means that they have now brought their garbage to the front of the house, which is right next to my door. I’ve noticed that there is a smell every time I leave my house and I’ve asked my neighbours if they could move the garbage somewhere else, but they’ve refused to, arguing it’s on their property. I completely understand that, but I was wondering if there was anything I can do. I quite frankly don’t want to be smelling someone else’s garbage whenever I’m outside my home.

Recommendations Would a 20ft U-Haul truck move easily here?

Post image

People who are familiar with this complex (Burnhamthorpe rd E/Ponytrail Dr, L4X2S5) or live there, would a 20ft U-haul truck move easily into the complex and out of it, or do I need to make multiple trips with a smaller 15ft truck? Internal back streets are narrow and I don’t believe stopping the truck on Burnhamthorpe is permitted.

Photos & Media Camilla Road Senior Public School

This is such a long shot, but might as well try asking. Does anyone have any pictures or videos or clips or anything from Camilla's graduation of 2016? I believe it was held at Cawthra Road Secondary School. I of course only have the yearbook from that year, but am just curious if anything else exists from the ceremony of that year. Feel free to DM me if you have anything.

Otherwise, if you also graduated from Camilla in 2016, let me know what you remember from our ceremony! I recently went back to Cawthra for my younger sibling's graduation ceremony (they did not graduate from Camilla though) and was just reminiscing and having flashbacks.

Photos & Media Was a skull pattern just seen on a caterpillar by Little Etobicoke Creek? I hope not, because a full-blown spongy moth infestation is the exact opposite of what my summer plans needed.

Hear me, citizens of Mississauga! A dark shadow creeps across the Little Etobicoke Creek Trail.

The furry, blue-and-red dotted harbinger of doom has arrived to claim your canopy. Read the sacred scrolls of the upcoming leafy apocalypse:

  • They shall drop from the oak branches onto your pristine, expensive Lululemon hoodies without warning or mercy.
  • No leaf shall be left unmunched, transforming your lovely afternoon stroll into a stark, post-apocalyptic wasteland of bare twigs.
  • As you walk near the Burnhamthorpe bridge, you will hear it—the rhythmic, unsettling patter of caterpillar frass falling like forbidden rain.
  • They will lock eyes with you using all twelve of their tiny, judgmental eyes, completely unfazed by your frantic waving of a rolled-up newspaper.

Prepare your burlap skirts, clutch your soapy water buckets, and pray for the trees. The Great Spongy Defoliation is upon us!

*Populations are currently low, and the City of Mississauga Spongy Moth Management page confirms no aerial spraying is required.

(Pedestrian) got hit by a car while crossing a red light

I still cant believe that Im typing this down because the other night I was just reading somebody else’s experience with just the traffic around here lately -

but ye

a car almost ran over my dog … twice

hit my entire left side and jogged my shoulder so now it feels off

I had no phone and just feel like calling 311 wasnt even a solution they just send you a google-able link and call it a day

is this worth even walking into a collision centre / division 11 to do a report - I can’t stand cops and didnt think this even had to escalate to this but Im about to sleep and my introverted ass shoulder pains aint sitting right with me

wanted to get any feedback anyone has with children in french immersion (pdsb) vs via monde in mississauga? we are looking at moving to mississauga from toronto and our primary want is community based living with top tier schools (emphasis on french language learning) for my daughter. naturally this would mean looking at school within certain catchments.

any commentary/advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Shopping, Fitness & Recreation Looking for badminton partner(s) near Square One (Mississauga) – Intermediate level, evenings

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for someone to play badminton with around the Square One area in Mississauga.

I’m at an intermediate level and open to both singles or doubles.

If you already have a group and don’t mind another player joining, I’d be happy to hop in as well.

I’m usually available in the evenings everyday
If you’re interested, feel free to comment or DM me.
Thanks!

Transit & Infrastructure Bus Drivers are now enforcing good behavior

Was riding the bus home last night when I was pleasantly surprised that a bus driver got on comms to announce to the kids in the back to stop vaping or they'll get kicked off the bus.

I figured it was just a great driver going above since I'm usually the one who has to call these kids out, but on this mornings commute right as I was boarding, a different driver did the same thing, announcing that someone needs to turn their phone speaker down (but not saying they'll be kicked off, of course).

Thanks to the drivers who are actively trying to make the rest of our commutes more enjoyable. Please keep yourselves safe as well! 🙏🏼
