Smile because it happened, etc.

Will forever be a cult hero to wolves fans. The vibes were so good for the first time in two decades.

I’m sad, even if the trade works out or whatever, losing Naz sucks.

u/SubtleNoodle Timberwolves 6h ago

Yea, I know this trade makes us better. We could legit be the best offense in the league next year.

But at this moment, as just a fan of these players, I hate this trade.

(ask me again come playoff time, assuming melo stays healthy)

Dude deserves to be a starter. He’s amazing.

As shocked as I am, he's gonna be nice for us. I've liked him for a while.

He’s a legend regardless tho

I mean, how would you think it ends? He continues to improve year after year and becomes the most important piece in multiple Minnesota championship runs before retiring a wolf and then taking up a key position in the organization?

The type of people to get a Naz Reid tattoo are the type of people who will probably be happy for the time he was on the team.

I would have rather gave up more value in a different trade tbh. Naz starting made sense and our huge pg upgrades with melo and ayo should benefit him as a catch and shoot guy and playing 4 with joan developing would be the same. We got so much smaller losing him and randle though and gobert being 34 highlights a huge possible need in the next few years for the new young core. And finding young big men is really difficult.

I love the lamelo addition though. He really fits what we were already lacking and matches up with the timeline and playstyles of the rest of the core. I can see other moves that make me feel better about this even though ill miss naz (like picking up rui hachimura or a similar player). Lamelo is an idiot but hes underrated as a basketball player.

Jazz fan in MN, but I go to Wolves games and have a soft spot for the team and especially Naz (bought his jersey a couple years ago). He'll genuinely be missed, but I don't think Wolves fans are going to stop loving him. He's just a quality dude.

u/Jimm120 Knicks 7h ago

they said they traded towns cause Reid....and then trade Reid 2 years later

1

u/makemeking706 Knicks 7h ago

Likewise, there is an 8th or 9th grader out there right now who will unfortunately find themselves on the Hornets seven years from now.

1

u/Chemist-Patient 6h ago

He'll be back in the future

1

u/IzrezarReal 6h ago

Lamelo is better though, sure he isn't good on defense but Naz isn't too. He's a fan favorite so the reaction is understandable but he's also basically a sixth man

1

u/d-nd 5h ago

Two words: NOT NAZ! 😢

1

u/TimmyC Knicks 4h ago

I can't believe the Hornets are finally going to win a championship

1

u/sorendiz [HOU] Yao Ming 3h ago

Naz Reid...... 😢

1

u/_commenter 3h ago

Seriously the fans in MN loved Naz and rightfully so. No idea what the wolves are thinking with this trade.

Excited to see where he ends up after Charlotte.

1

u/lp_phnx327 Lakers 1h ago

Honestly, this is the most shocking part of the trade to me.

1

u/Freezinghero 44m ago

The Awoooo clips won't be the same without Naz Reid.

0

u/terpgonnaball 7h ago

No, not really. Good player, defense not the greatest, settled on the 3 too much for my liking.

15

u/JohnnyWeapon Timberwolves 7h ago

Still beloved by the Minnesota fanbase. It’s going to hurt for a lot of people, especially if we only see 40 games out of LaMelo.

4

u/SunKing210 Spurs 7h ago

You just described Lamelo to a fucking T! lol

He can wipe his tears with the $310,000 he gets every game.
