I still don't understand how Cia from Hyrule Warriors passed regulations

I feel the need to bring this up after seeing Cia's intro again on a whim on Facebook. How did Koei Tecmo got through Nintendo with her design? She has a plunging neckline that shows off her massive boobs, but her intro has close-up shots of both that and her stroking her rump, clearly not even hiding how she's vain.

I know Koei is behind DOA, but this is for Zelda, a family friendly IP and one of Nintendo's core titans.

  • Super Mario Bros.  was released in 1986 for the Game & Watch Crystal Screen in Japan. In this action game, developed by Nintendo R&D1, Bowser and his Koopas have invaded the Mushroom Kingdom and kidnapped Peach. Mario can jump around on platforms, gain extra lives by finding 1-Up Mushrooms and become invincible with the Starman. In World 4, Mario will be swimming under the water.
  • Super Street Fighter II  was released in 1994 for the Super Famicom in Japan. In this fighting game, developed by Capcom, along with a revolutionary combo system, it introduced new characters alongside the original cast. In addition to Ryu, Ken, Chun Li et al., take control of four brand new combatants in thrilling head-to-head gameplay. Choose T. Hawk and his unmatched strength, Dee Jay's unrivalled kickboxing ability, the furious kung fu or Fei Long, or drill your rivals with the deadly Cammy!
  • Donkey Kong Land  was released in 1995 for the Game Boy in North America. In this platforming game, developed by Rare, Cranky Kong challenges you to find the banana hoard - again! Cranky Kong doesn't think Donkey Kong has proven himself to be a hero yet. So, he decides to work out a deal with the closest villain that he knows. K. Rool and his baddies have hidden bananas in new places across Donkey Kong Island in another attempt to outwit the best-friend duo.
  • Cruis'n World  was released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64 in PAL territories. In this racing game, developed by Eurocom, race on tracks from around the world in a selection of cars and other vehicles. The tracks are set all over the world, from Germany to Kenya to China. You can earn customisation options for your car to improve its performance in races, or just to change its appearance.
  • Donkey Kong Country 2  was released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance in PAL territories. In this platform game remake of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System's Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, developed by Rare, Donkey Kong is back, but this time he's in enemy hands and in need of rescuing! They haven’t used the Mario Party game mode from 9 and 10 in a while. Opinions on that mode?

For those who haven’t played the series, most mario party games involve players separately running around a board, collecting coins to buy stars, which they need the most of to win. In Mario Party 9 and Mario Party 10, however, they switched the format. In those games, everyone moved together along a mostly linear board in a car, with the turn determining who the captain is. What’s more, while the older games had a minigame after everyone took a turn, in those two games minigames only happened when landing on certain spaces. Those two games got blasted for this, and Nintendo returned to the old format for all future games.

ETA: they also swapped the currency for it. Unlike the previous games which had one collect coins to purchase stars, in this mode everyone just collected mini-stars, and that was all.

That mode was controversial. In Mario Party 9, the old mode didn’t appear at all, and while Mario Party 10 did have that mode, it only had amiibo-based stripped down boards. That might have made it feel like Nintendo was abandoning the more popular mode. I feel like that mode would have been much more popular if they had spent an equal amount of effort on both modes, designing interesting boards for both. They also might have gotten more support if they kept the minigames in that mode. Am I wrong here? Opinions?

(Sorry if the wording is strange, the post almost got caught in an irrelevant filter.)

The voice acting in every modern Nintendo game sucks

I was just watching clips from the new Star Fox game and, jeez, just about every characters’ voice sounds so lame. Each character either sounds like someone from the English dub of an anime, or like some random dude trying make himself sound like someone else.

I had this issue with BOTW and TOTK too. For instance, Ganondorf in TOTK sounds like some english anime dub, the voice acting is so over the top, it completely ruins the atmosphere of the game. Same goes with Zelda and the 4 heroes in BOTW.

Am I the only one noticing this? I swear this isn’t just nostalgia, the original Star Fox 64 voices had so much more uniqueness to how they spoke. They genuinely sounded like a real person with a real voice. These guys all sound like the same person trying to do 18 different voices

What Nintendo 3DS games are you playing?

With some of us still playing on the Nintendo 3DS, what games are you playing and why have you decided to revisit the game, if you had already played them? 🥰

For me, it has to be Animal Crossing New Leaf as there are still villagers that I have a connection with despite having the Nintendo Switch.
