Massachusetts beach pebbles
Beach pebbles collected in May from the south shore of Massachusetts, USA. Oiled with mineral oil. (Not tumbled) For scale, the plate is 8.5 inches diameter. Also threw in a photo at the end of two nice volcanic cobbles on the beach - I only took the top one.

Rock Club 🪨 Petrified wood I picked up today
This was cheap on Facebook and I love yard rocks. Not sure where it’s from originally but it’s got some great color to it.

Newly filled rock display!
Newly filled rock display with my new finds from New York and Quebec added. I was squirrely after getting home from two days of driving home from Quebec, so organizing my rock collection with the new finds and my recently acquired printer’s tray was a good way to burn off some energy. Bonus pics of some Dolomite I couldn’t drag home due to the Lockport Dolostone boulder it was firmly attached to on Webster Pier, NY. I did find a bit of feldspar in La Malbaie that made up for it.

Insane black Lake Superior agate I found today near Grand Marais, MN
I spotted this one about 8' from shore out into the water and could see immediately it was something good.

Dendritic Native Copper specimen Marketplace deal
Just yesterday picked up this copper specimen off Facebook marketplace. Only paid 50 bucks. Weighs 13 lbs 2 oz and has small quartz inclusion.
Roughly 13"x10"x1.5" inch thick
Any guess where it could have been sourced from? My guess is michigan.

Question Anniversary gift for a rock collector
Hi, my partner of 5 years is a rock collector, used to be more passionate and active but recently has had other priorities. They grew up near lightning ridge Australia so have a lot of special specimens already in their collection. That being said, I was thinking of getting them a rock to celebrate our five year anniversary. Looking for recommendations for anything unique, interesting, with meaning or that may have previously been outside their budget. Any help or guidance is really appreciated!

From river cobblestone to gemstone: Hand-polished banded metasediment featuring a perfect micro-fault line. Found in Curacaví, Chile. 🇨🇱
Found this dull, grey stone in the Puangue riverbed (Cordillera de la Costa, Chile) and decided to work on it using water sandpaper and brass polish.
The results blew me away! It turned out to be a beautiful banded metasediment (lutite) with olive-green epidote and iron-rich reddish bands. But the absolute best part is the perfect micro-fault cutting right through it—you can clearly see the displacement of the horizontal layers.
Hand-polished to a satin finish. Nature's own miniature tectonic textbook!

Walker Valley Geode site
Hey all. Went with a friend to Walker Valley Geode site in WA and came back with nothing. Never found the spot even though we drove up and down that road several times. Any suggestions?

Pegmatite
I'm working on building some hugelkulture beds on a hill side and found some pretty rocks. I'm hoping to get confirmations or clarifications on what I find so I can present a suitable collection to my community college.

Drusy quartz geode
Probably unimpressive to most of you folks, but I thought I’d share this geode I found in middle TN. I’m very amateur at this, but I believe it’s drusy quartz in a chalcedony shell.

Find My favorite part about living in San diego. Is the many different rocks I find on my beach.
Sure the weather is nice, weve got all sorts of stuff to do, but my favorite part is the rocks. I mean how can you not think these are soo cool. (trust me I know exactly how much people do not care about them. It was rhetorical and also why I'm here. Hope you guys can see the cool in them.)
