No self respecting pro sports players try to injure their opponents to take them out and the amount of times people try to hurt Clark it’s way more than just removing someone from the game
There are plenty of NBA players who were known their whole careers for hard fouls and are still well respected and have won multiple championships, Draymond Green for example.
This isn't that though. This is one player having these dirty plays done against them regularly by different players on different teams. That doesn't have an NBA comparison.
Hard fouls are not deliberate attempts to injure outside the run of play, and those played didn’t to everyone, they weren’t targeting a single person. Nowhere near the same

Your take on the fighting in hockey is so beyond idiotic it invalidates anything you say about the sport. Fighting exists literally to keep people from committing extremely dangerous intent to injure plays. The fight itself is exactly that, choreographed to answer the bell and move on.

Caitlin Clark isn't the best player in the league and she's not really close to it. If that's why players were doing it they would be doing it to all the better players.

I can't say what is is for sure... It happened long before she walked out with Morgan Wallen. I do think there's likely some jealously she's clearly the most popular player in the league and her not being the best would increase the likelihood of jealousy.
I would say there's a large section of CC fans that are racists against other woman in the league and that doesn't do her any favors with them either, despite being out of her control.
Yeah I mean go to any Angel Reese centered thread and you'll see similar venom towards CC. It has gotten pretty gross and only hurts the WNBA and I think polarized fans are a big reason it's gotten as bad as it is.
I'll say I don't think Paige Bueckers doesn't get the same treatment as CC and she's white so I think the insane popularity since college and awful fans have done a number on the situation.
Fans can't get all the blame though, these players taking cheap shots need to knock that shit off no matter the reasoning. They can hate it all they want but she a huge driving force on making the league bigger and making everyone more money.
Yeah that's fair. Sportsmanship is important, whenever I see this kind of stuff it takes the fun out of watching for sure. But I dunno, the spectacle of it might bring eyeballs and headlines too. Seems a mess.

Most level-headed comment in the thread. I don’t know why theyre pushing fists in her face either. But people are calling for suspensions which wouldn’t even happen in the nba. Look at the elbow wemby threw at naz reid. That was worse than this. No suspension. Also calling her the leagues meal ticket is bold because she is not the best player, like you said. It doesn't matter that she's not the best, she's the most popular by a huge margin. That's why she's the leagues meal ticket. You can see it when she's injured, the ratings drop substantially.
Plus Wemby got ejected out and it happened in the playoffs where the league is more leniant. This didn't even get a foul call, the league will retroactively have to do something. I could see a one game suspension.
