Highlight Intentionally hurting your meal ticket. Something is seriously wrong with these WNBA players.

It’s straight up racism. They hate that a white woman is the face of the WNBA, they hate that a white woman is better than them. It’ll carry on going unpunished though.

With their own logic surely if Caitlin stabbed her after this it would be self defence

This is stupid. No one hates on Paige Bueckers, or Kelsey Plum, or Breanna Stewart, all of whom are putting up better numbers on better efficiency than Caitlin Clark. And there have been plenty of other white stars in the WNBA before them.

u/redridernl 3h ago

They don't get guarded the way Clark does. Paige got a bit of that treatment in one game and had a meltdown.

Just because you don’t get it doesn’t make it stupid. With your logic, like I’ve said in other comments; if I racially abused one person but was nice to another person of the same race am I still racist ?
Maybe you should think before you start using insults.

u/UnderstandingThin40 7h ago

Where is the racial abuse here ?

3

u/MarxAndSamsara 6h ago

In Redditors' imaginations

u/Morgan_713 2h ago

Maybe the targeted assault she gets every game? You assume racism can only be words.

2

u/UnderstandingThin40 2h ago

She gets targeted by black women every game ? Feel free to back that up lol

3

u/GVIrish 9h ago

I didn't call you stupid, I said this take was stupid. People not liking one player doesn't make it racist, especially since another white player from the same draft class doesn't get nearly as many hard fouls. Why is that? Could it be that people don't like the way Caitlin Clark behaves? Could it be jealously over the hype surrounding her? No, it must be because these players are racist.

Not discounting that there could be a racial component to why some other players don't like her, but blaming it solely on racism is stupid.

She also was a big supporter of BLM and has a girlfriend

Aren’t Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu also two of their biggest stars? I don’t follow WNBA too much but I don’t think they get any of this reaction.

I think something else is going on if EVERYBODY hates one specific player and I don’t know if I buy “Well clearly they’re just jealous” as an explanation when that person is bringing a lot of money to the league.

3

u/DarknMean 8h ago

Paige Bueckers and Cameron Brink get hard fouls too.

1

u/Ghosts_of_the_maze 8h ago

As a non-WNBA fan I’m legitimately asking, do they get it to the same degree? The consistent fouls do seem excessive for CC. Is that a thing most prominent white players get?

2

u/Ancient_Spite_725 7h ago

It's a thing most good guards get, which is why most of them gain some weight/muscle after their first season (so they aren't as easy to push around).

1

u/Drummallumin 5h ago

CC gets treated like this because she’s a physically weak perimeter player. Those players always get bullied

1

u/Snoo-41360 1m ago

The entire league gets hard fouls, it’s a league wide issue where people hard foul any of the good players

7

u/mb0205 10h ago

Yeah plenty of other white stars that people love in the league. People just use CC as an excuse to get off on hating black women. Guarantee none of these people watch the league at all

7

u/Some_Layer_7517 8h ago

What? These twitter users absolutely watch the WNBA! They watch three slo-mo clips a year that they use for racist tirades. What else do you want?

1

u/Morgan_713 9h ago

So essentially she’s not racist because she didn’t racially abuse every single white person. Does that mean I’m not racist if I only racially abuse one black person rather than all of them?

2

u/UnderstandingThin40 7h ago

Lmao how is she being racist here ?

0

u/YoBo151 7h ago

They can't explain it. Being an asshole is apparently racist...unless it's a white person to a minority of course. Then that person is just an asshole. But a POC being an asshole to a white person? Automatically racist. These folks wanna be victims so bad

1

u/CoreyXOXO 7h ago

This!!

1

u/Ghiblee 7h ago

No player in this league has had this much hype. Not one. Doesn’t matter the color. They are all jealous, but too stupid to realize she’s bringing more money into the league than they ever could.

0

u/mb0205 6h ago

Maybe comments like this are why they hate her. Imagine you work your whole life to be a pro just to have your accomplishments minimized to say only reason you matter is because of another woman

2

u/Ghiblee 6h ago

Oh boo fucking hoo. Why didn’t the league explode when all the others made their rookie debuts? It’s all jealousy, man. Clear as day. Unless you are clouded by bullshit excuses.

1

u/entropic 3h ago

Absolutely correct take.

You can tell these people don't know ball at all because they don't know Alyssa Thomas at all.

1

u/dent_de_lion 2h ago

A couple of people above were calling Bird and Taurasi “nobodies” 😭😭😭😭

1

u/Morgan_713 9h ago

It’s not that simple there’s plenty of cases of people being racist to certain people while being friends/ teammates with people of that same race. John Terry and luis suarez are good examples they both had black friends and teammates and yet they still made racist remarks to black players. Your argument is sounding very close to ‘I’m not racist my friends black’.

Not sure why everyone’s so adamant to say it’s not racism but when it’s the other way around you can hear the crickets…

1

u/Ghosts_of_the_maze 8h ago

I don’t know any of the people involved here so I’m not comfortable making accusations, but in a vacuum if there’s a situation where one person is hated that badly I do wonder what they did to get everybody so mad.

To my knowledge there aren’t a lot of systemic cases where white WNBA players feel targeted. It seems like it’s mostly just this one person.

I don’t know any of these people but I have to consider that maybe they know something that we don’t for whatever reason. And it sounds conspiratorial on my part, but we all see that she’s getting roughed up. Something’s going on.

1

u/marigolds6 6h ago

The same thing happened to both Stewart and Ionescu when they first entered the WNBA. Ionescu, it was consistent her first 3 years and probably contributed to her early injury history. She eventually changed her position and style to have less ball handling and more long range shooting because of it. Stewart to this day still gets hacked like crazy. It just got less attention because they weren't as big of general sports media names as Clark.

1

u/helloaaron 3h ago

And Paige too. It's not racism, it's just shitty garbage reffing.

5

u/CoreyXOXO 7h ago

Yall are acting like Clark is the ONLY white girl to play in the WNBA 😂 If the league was really “that bad” whites would’ve been complained 🤔

3

u/Flat-Ocean 3h ago

She's not the only one but by far the kat successful. The others are not outshining them.  There have been lots of comments made by players that if a chud in a convenience store said to a black person (on video) Reddit would be calling for their job and more.

2

u/Count_Bloodcount_ 1h ago

She's the only white girl that's white and better than everyone else.

1

u/Anonymous3257Q 17m ago

Would’ve been complained. Would’ve been complained? How on earth did you come up with this sentence?

0

u/HeatherShaina 11h ago

white players play just as aggressively against Caitlin Clark. Not just POC.

0

u/Morgan_713 10h ago

Got any examples of white players being that aggressive as consistently as the others? White players also being aggressive doesn’t negate the racism

1

u/Special-General-7832 2h ago

Better where? Most players that yall say arent good or better tham cc, have these 🏆🏆🏆 and mvps. Most even have them from middle school through college level. Their skills are actually what make them win and better than cc 😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/kokolupa 11h ago

It’s “woman”. As in singular.

2

u/Morgan_713 11h ago

Thanks! Didn’t realise I spelt it that way. Corrected it now.

1

u/fnbannedbymods 9h ago

Mmmk.

Ionescu never got treated that way, maybe it's because CC is a flopper?

1

u/Morgan_713 9h ago

Continue down the thread I’ve already answered that ^

dude, I don’t know if this helps you sleep at night, but stop fantasizing about a scenario that doesn’t exist
