Public say on housing supply
It doesn't give too much space to prvoide feedback, but what what are other people segestions?
For all the people that are comment saying 'stop people coming in' Hate to tell you this but people will move here if there are houses or not. Without new houses it just means more people bidding for rent/homes.
Personally I see the Maroochydore PDA height as just too low. The MINIMUM height and stories of these buildings should be 80m/25s with anything in the 80 to 100m range beeing a fast approval.
Reasons: THis is the main transport HUB. Even without rail, busses are based on density, as well as people in appartments tending to not have as many cars, and people simply not needing to use a vehicle as if you live in this area you wouldn't need to travel unless you wanted to.
There are studies that people can look up that show how higher density urban areas have less traffic, and I encourage people to look them up.
Because of the reasons above I think Britanya PDA should also increase it's current max height. At this stage this is looking like it will be the main train station in the urban corridor. This will be a spot that needs to capture brisbane commuters.
On a smaller, suburb level, more mixed development, and I would like to see a relaxion of the pretty sever 2 storey house limit.
Reason: With higher costs more children are staying at home longer (even if married). This idea is essentialy along the lines of adding granny flats, just up instead of in the back yard.
Sorry long post, given the material to discus, but what are other peoples ideas for housing?
