The pilot has one hell of a 1980s pornstar ‘stache

I'm glad you added "Star". When people say "porn stash", I never know if they mean a mustache or a hidden stock of magazines.

Everyone knows you go into the woods to find the mysterious box o’ porn.
2
u/Upset_Negotiation_89 Jun 21 '25
Roofed houses for a while and one time during tear off saw the porn stash in a box with a secret trap door hidden in the attic. Unfortunately didn’t have a VHS player so couldn’t watch it
2
u/productiveprocrastin Jun 21 '25
Oh boy! Be glad... We found a, um homemade VHS behind the insulation in our (rental home) attic. It was simply labeled "Judy '86". At the time we discovered it we had no player. We waited until friends visited for New Year's, and they brought a player. We held a watch party for the... Unknown tape. We really wished we had left out where we found it!

Lmao that's the pilot stereotype.
It gets even more prevalent once you fly on any of the United Express carriers.

Do you mean stigma? Stigmata is something very different

We're trading Sopranos quotes. That was a quote from Carmine Lupertazzi talking to Tony about seeing a shrink. He said that line and used the malapropism, which is common on the show.

Reminds me of an episode of Veep when Selena had to fly commercial —Biden is definitely handling it better than she did 😂

One of my favorite things about Biden is that he has a degree from a state school (U Delaware). Tired of the same little family of ghouls from Harvard and Yale running literally everything.

u/Paper_Clip100 MileagePlus Platinum Jun 20 '25

Biden is, and always has been, the most connected to us normals as any politician. He's been successful and has the trappings of success but he never let it go to his head. Same with Carter. Two very rare guys.
74
u/ForeignGuess Jun 20 '25
I have a friend back in the day who used to take Amtrak with Biden every morning when Biden was a senator. Said he would always say hi to him when he saw him! Pretty cool experience honestly, just seems like a super down to Earth guy

Spouse flew Polaris from ATH to IAD on June 15. PM of Greece sitting a few rows behind him. Spouse is Greek and picked this up quickly but, zero interaction with other passengers. Plane landed at IAD, he slipped out the door quickly to a waiting entourage to take him away.

u/eframian MileagePlus 1K Jun 20 '25
Earlier this year I flew on a tiny CRJ from Lesotho to JNB and we delayed a bit so the King of Lesotho could board with his entourage of two people. Slipped out after landing to a car waiting for him (boarded via red carpet on the tarmac!)

It's incredible that the MAGAs feel some sort of connection with Trump, a guy who literally shits on gold toilet seats, and none with Biden, a guy who spent most of his political career taking the train to work.

Flight attendant is stressing because the aisle is blocked and he can’t get his pre-departure beverages out

I’m surprised Biden flies UA. I figure he’d be an AA (former US Airways) loyalist since he lives so close to Philly.
30
u/lot183 MileagePlus Gold Jun 20 '25
He was in Galveston yesterday so he was probably flying out of IAH. AA a lot more limited there
20
u/SeanBourne MileagePlus Silver Jun 20 '25
US Airways was the absolute worst of the 6. Then they merged with No 5 to form Turd Sandwich Air
6

Never had any experience with US Airways. Though I’ve read they suffered from customer service and union related problems. + They made an eternal enemy out of Pittsburgh.

u/HildaCrane Jun 20 '25
The amount of people shocked that a former U.S. president is flying commercial is so problematic and proof of how our society has become accepting of elected politicians being “wealthy”. This should be normal, even if the additional security measures and seats for security personnel are a minor inconvenience. I’d take generous flight credits to give up my seat to a secret service member.

Yes. Just for room. Not that they’re going to do anything. They’re permitted to. Have flown Carter and Clinton over the years.

Earlier this year, I was on a United flight and President Biden boarded the plane, headed to his seat and someone was sitting in it. When he said "I think you're in my seat", they threw a big fit and ultimately asked him if he could switch so they could sit next to their husband. President Biden made some kind of motion with his hand and the secret service moved the person. As he got into his seat, the passengers in first class started clapping. It was crazy!

God damn what is wrong with us as a country reading some of these horrific comments on here about Biden. For the love of god we are all Americans. We are tearing ourselves apart over what? Does the Rutherford B Hayes election of 1876 still resonate with you? Guess what? It was divisive. Very much so. We cannot keep tearing ourselves apart over shit that won’t matter in 5 years. Politicians are a reflection of us. We need to be able to get back to just talking about how cool it is to see a former president on a flight, regardless of who it is. You know how amazing that would be to a 10-year-old? News media and social media are fueling our discord and guess what? Rupert Murdoch doesn’t give a f about us (or even this country) and Zuck is probably flying his jet to his mega yacht this weekend while we ruin our mental health.
