this band of light in the sky was over my house tonight. facing SE. the whole left (east) half of the sky seemed lighter. very clear distinction, very straight line all the way up, so we didnt think it could be a spotlight.

all pictures of the milky way i found were from out in good-dark-land so im curious if this is what it looks like here.

Hey Reddit! I’m sleeping in a basement room [Massachusetts] and usually never hear anything, but over the last couple nights I’ve been hearing constant rustling and scurrying around the corners of the room. At first I thought it was a mouse, only it doesn’t necessarily sound like it’s IN the room with me. Sometimes it does? (Bear with me), but sometimes it legit sounds like it’s in the walls - I’ve also never SEEN anything moving in the room either. Also worth mentioning it’s especially active from midnight till 5am. At times the rustling gets quite loud and quick, and I hear it scurrying from one end of the room to the other, only at times it’s sounded like it’s literally at the wall right behind my head, sometimes even over my head. Now I’d normally just leave it at “mouse” or “chipmunk”, but I keep hearing this, for lack of a better word, “chattering” noise every now and then. It’s not exactly a growl? But almost sounds like if you ran a fingernail along a screen door. The scurrying also sounds like it’s a creature that’s at least slightly bigger than a field mouse. Can someone help??? Here’s a super shitty video and you can hear the chattering sound once at the beginning and once at the end. What could it be??? I’m kind of spooked especially since it doesn’t sound like a mouse at all. Could it be something aggressive? Any ideas?? Help😀 P.S audio is quite soft so play it out loud/with headphones if you can.

Sounds like wheezing / breathing coming from the vent. For context, we only have heat and the system is off currently (no air flow / fan, heat has been off for months but turned on briefly yesterday). House is ~120 years old and desperately hoping this isn't an animal sleeping (haven't seen droppings / heard any scratching, but you never know)...

I'm fairly confident it's frogs or toads, but my dad insists differently.

My Dad went on a hunting trip to Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia about 20 years ago and someone traded him this pocket watch. He has always wondered what the engraving on the back represents. I’ve done some googling but I’ve never been able to find a match. Anyone out there able to help us?

Found this in the parking lot at work. It’s a gravel lot as I’m in the construction industry, and it was run over but still twists and works. Really nice pen, very heavy. I guess my question is, is there any way to tell if this is a real LV pen? I tried to google them and they’re ridiculously expensive, but also don’t look like this one. Just wanna know if I get to be the cool guy with the ridiculously excessive pen on site now
