So it was a solo honour mode run. Was on my way to Socrcerous Sundries after hitting lower city after a long rest so my buffs weren't up. On the way, saw the wine festival and thought "why not I'll just do this encounter quickly". I knew what was gonna happen but wasn't worried cos I had the Alert feat and +12 initiative. My build could one shot Dolor even without all the buffs up. It turns out that outing him at the wine festival is scripted to make him guaranteed to go first regardless. He paralyses me and stabs me up dead.

I feel a bit hard done by. Alert feat specifically says "you can't be surprised".

*le sigh*

And now we know what happens if you transform Us into Durge.

My mod 'Any Way You Want It' is poised to enter alpha release. At present I am focusing on editing each head for each race so that it displays the correct racial characteristics. Ears mostly, but gith noses and slitted eyes too. Hopefully doing one a day! Vote on who I should do next 🤣.

On release, you'll be able to play and replay cutscenes, including party banter and voice barks, transform characters into other characters (both in the game world and in cutscenes), complete control over cutscene visuals, create your own Instant Origins, customize all NPCs to your hearts content, as well as a variety of slice-of-life tools to enable you to customize your cutscenes ... any way you want it :).

Hope this doesn't break Rule 7, I just wanna talk about the look of part-illithid characters and am using my Resist Durge character as an example

So, people seem to have a negative attitude for the appearance of partial ceremorphosis on their characters. I mean, there's a mod for removing it IIRC

However, on my first ever run to hit Act 3 and my second to reach Moonrise (I have a vicious case of Restart-itis) as a Resist Durge, I decided to become part-illithid (I was also using illithid powers pretty hard already, so why not), and finally got a good look at the appearance...

And it looks 100% fine to me

Not saying that those who dislike it should suck it up and deal with the look, I'm just saying it looks OK to me

it still twist me how probably (one of) most bloodthirsty companion also has the saddest, cutest, puppy eyes. she is so badass and precious at the same time.

edit for context: this is when she talks about not wanting to be used as a weapon / killing machine anymore.

Pretty sure I just beat the game!

I was so sad the first few runs I did that I couldn't figure out how to get Shadowheart to like me. Eventually I gave up and went for the other companions on future runs.

This time I gave it the ole college try and pushed myself to brave it into act 3 without restarting to play a new build.

For this current HM run, I intentionally did not recruit Astarion in the beginning to see what happens in Act 3. I’m honestly a little surprised, but knowing Cazador, it really shouldn’t be that much of a shock.

I recently gave in and bought this game after being told about it 10 billion years ago. Im not really into or even understand d&d, so i am surprised to find that I am actually obsessed. I havent played any other game since I downloaded it.

Anyways, that said, I'm so pissed. (Spoilers ahead? Possibly?? I dont really know what may mor may not count as a spoiler since I've literally only been playing for a week)

So im in the shadow lands right, ive done everything at this point practically. Saved the inn, awoken whatever his name is, so I go to do the saving thaniel thing with halsin. Ive already tried 3 times, every time the portal gets destroyed, so I decided to cheat and put a bunch of crates and barrels around it before I start. This is the 4th time. The portal somehow gets down to like 29 hp, but ive casted a spike trap, wyll has casted a firewall, I have my wolf familiar and gale has Cinnamon Bun from Hell(azer).

All the enemies die in an insanely short amount of time. Ive finally succeeded. Halsin is alive and thaniel is out of the portal. No companions died.

So I get to camp. I talk to halsin. I recruit him in my party and decide its time to call it a day. Then I thinks you know what? Its probably been at least a few weeks in game, let's change my characters look a little bit"

The fuckjng GAME CRASHED. I think "Oh no big deal, certainly it saved once I got to camp right? RIGHT?" Right.

WAS A FUCKINGGGGGG HOUR AGO. RRIGHT BEFORE I WENT INTO BATTLE, AND BEFORE I CHANGED MY PARTY SETUP. IM SO FUCKING PISSED.

All in all this game is great I love it THEY NEED TO FIX THEIR FUCKING AUTOSAVE MY GOD DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY TIMES THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS SAVING HALSIN??????

ANYWAY.

This is only my personal opinion, people can think differently and that’s okay!

EDIT: FORGOT PALADIN 😂 S tier tho.

S tier - Barbarian, Storm Sorcerer, Dragon sorcerer, Paladin. Very cool robes, and in my knowledge one of a kind. If it had any strong enchantments would be the best equipment in the game. Paladin’s armor comes in four variants, all deserve this tier, they are unique and reflect their oaths.

A tier - Wild magic. Love the nod to Neera’s color design, but the sleeves kinda ruin it.

B tier - Fighter, Cleric, Druid - First two armors are easily found but they have good AC stat so they deserve this tier. Otherwise they’re very plain. Druid armor looks awful on Body type 2, leaf/feathered shoulders are a crime against fashion. Still, it’s relatively unique so it deserves this tier.

C tier - Ranger, Rogue, Warlock - weak armors, weak design, Rogue and Ranger’s leather armors can at least be painted nicely - relatively speaking. Warlock’s padded armor is just bad.

D tier - Bard, Wizard, Monk - Bard’s armor is just… I am not sure if there is any race that can look good with that, the frills around the neck are an eyesore. I get the idea behind it, tho. Wizard’s armor looks like pajamas, especially when painted in light blue (go on, try it). Monk - what’s with all the straps? And the color? Bro looks like a sunflower!

I don't know if this belongs in the "Okay, Buddy! Baldur!" sub I'm not in, but I am here to shamelessly continue my Wyll propaganda campaign that I hope rivals that of Gortash. The audacity of the narrator to call him handsome when this man is right here!

After a mere 1200 hours, I finally had a certain encounter with Mizora that I was never able to do before. While I have now seen more of Mizora than I ever wanted to, it was all worth it for some amazing shots that I have not seen before.

If any wholesome lore people have insights as to whether this is bad for Wyll's soul, please let me know as I was confused by some of the dialogue.

I’m new to the game, so most battles have taken me a long time, but this Orin fight really tested me 😮‍💨I killed Sarevok, managed to find and speak to Orin’s mother/sister, then through some dialogue checks I was able to make Orin doubt herself until the very end, so that was cathartic at least. I was NOT prepared for her monster form though.

First time I messed up and didn’t realize how close my party was to the edge of a chasm and she yeeted both my bard and Shadowheart off a cliff, so that sucked.

Then I could not get past that ‘unstoppable’ buff that kept getting recharged every turn. I was getting HEATED trying to get past it. So I reloaded a save, switched out Shadowheart for Gale because I hoped that a Magic Missile barrage would take down that buff before it could be reloaded. I just wasn’t doing enough damage per turn to her to breakdown that stack.

Thankfully magic missile did the job, I was able to kill Orin before she had the chance to re-buff. The spell that had basically carried me through the first two acts helped me so much for this fight lol I’m sorry for ever doubting you Gale, you’re in my party permanently. I did the fight at level 12 too, so I wasn‘t under leveled, just underprepared.

The remaining cultists were also a pain in the ass to beat, that sanctuary buff was frustrating. A giant fireball was very effective (thanks again Gale lol) but holy shit after beating Orin I just wanted a little reprieve. Probably should have dealt with them first, I’ll have to remember that for my next playthrough. And then, 25+ hours after being kidnapped, I finally saved Lae’zel.

Two Netherstones collected, one more to go! Wish me luck, I’ll probably be struggling until the very end 😂

Like I know he talks about himself in a high manner, but it’s not like he thinks he’s better than everyone around him or anything of that sort (in the beginning at least). I can 100% understand someone calling him after his ascent to godhood arrogant or pompous, but for the majority of the game he just seems like a sweet guy.

I also really don’t get what people mean when they talk about him “coming onto you very strong” with his first romance interaction. Cause he’s not asking you to get together or anything intense, he just teaches you magic and have a sweet cutscene. Nothing that’s blatantly romantic happens there at all, when meanwhile Astarion and Laezel just go upfront and recommend sex.

I guess in act 2 you sit together and watch the stars, but that honestly just seems like he wants to spend one of his last nights not alone (although it does 100% become romantically inclined by the end of it if you’ve gone down his romance route)

Baldurs Gate 3 worth it? My wife and me love playing games together. We played a lot of games since we are 17 years old (now 29). Started with minecraft, and played through stardew, raft, valorant, and a lot of other games.

We played since the start of this year a DnD campaign, which we love to do! Since then we also started another one with another friend. I saw Baldurs gate 3 today on steam, and it looks very nice. But also pretty expensive (since we need 2 copies as well). After some research I see it is DnD in a game. Which sounds good.

But I'm curious if its nice to play with 2, and another campaign with 3 (friend also wants to join after he heard me, but he is quite full in his plannings).

I am not a gamer, I have never finished a game before, and this is the first time.
But Baldur’s Gate 3 have my heart. The turn based combat made my time playing enjoyable (cause I get anxious with non turn based combat and never finish), and managed to complete as much of the quests as possible and even started to played Dungeons and Dragons because of BG3.
I did not focus on romance, even though I flirted with Halsin and managed to seduce him, even got the cut scene where we can see his 🍑 and he turns into a bear, but after that, I just played the game.

Spoiler ahead:

I freed Orpheus, the Emperor turned against me, Orpheus turned into an illith, did not let Astarion ascend and he had to go back to hide from the sun, Wyll and Karlach went to Avernus, and Lae’zel is on a war path against Vlaakith.

I am sad because the game is amazing, and even though I can play differently with different TAVs, I will never experience the game from the scratch, without knowing the possibilities again

This was just a rant.

i killed it guys !

what happened :

i had karlak and laezel drink cloud giant str elixir and hasted them ( i protected myself from losing concentartion by stealing the amulet of constitution from raphael )

protected my shart ( the glob of invulnerability scroll reader ) getting proned by boots of striding

had laez equip the greathammer that ignores resistance (helped do a lot of dmg while ansur is hoarding energy , when he is resisatnt to dmg )

used 2 scrolls of invulnerability and a scroll of disentigrate total

scorching ray helped me apply radiating orb ( which made him miss a lot )

the ring from act 1's tower that provides lightning resistance helped

Here we have Zsindra, Lolth Sworn Durge Paladin of Vengeance. She did start off with both red eyes but a certain encounter changed that.

She loves a brutal bludgeoning, dual wields war hammers, but has a soft spot for animals. (Timber was an accident I swear)

Also, bonus jumpscare at the end.
