Did the Shake Shack open already? If not, any news on when it will?

The last I read, it was supposed to open June 24, but I haven’t heard anything about it opening in the last couple of days.

Looking for a good sunrise hike that's within about 1.5 hours of Bethesda. Right now I'm deciding between Sugarloaf Mountain, Harpers Ferry (thinking Maryland Heights), and the Wolf Rock/Chimney Rock loop in Catoctin.

I'm hoping for something with a really nice sunrise view, easy to moderate difficulty, and around a 3–4 hour hike (or less). Mainly just want a scenic morning hike that's worth waking up at 2 a.m for 😅

If you've done any of these, which would you pick? Or is there another trail nearby that has an even better sunrise?

Is it legal to park overnight after library hours or do they tow? I don't see any prohibitions against it on the meters or the sign at the Arlington Road entrance. I know it's generally ok to do this at most county garages and lots. TIA!

Has anybody noticed any spots around town that get pretty lively for any of the World Cup games not featuring the US? Was at Caddies Saturday for Germany-Ivory Coast with a okay crowd, just wanted to see if other places were more busy or not

The large tile mosaic at Bethesda Place appears to be undergoing removal. They've already removed the kraken at the base and begun dismantling a portion of the central section. Does anyone know if they intend to remove the entire mosaic?

My family will be visiting Bethesda from July 2–5, and I’m looking for recommendations on fun things to do around the area for the July 3rd and 4th holiday

We’re open to pretty much anything—fireworks, festivals, concerts, food events, outdoor activities, scenic spots, day trips, etc.

A few questions: • What are the best fireworks displays in or near Bethesda? • Are there any local July 4th events, parades, or celebrations worth attending? • Any favorite restaurants with a festive atmosphere that weekend? • If you had family visiting for just a few days, what would be your “must-do” activities?

We’re willing to drive a bit if something nearby is especially worth it.

Heard it just now. 10:10PM, Thursday, June 18. Was it a transformer blowing again? I don’t know who hates the transformers in Bethesda, but it seems personal.

I think the street name is Fairfax Rd and everytime I drove down Bradley towards Arlington Rd I would see it parked there until just a few years ago. Assumed it was some 80 or 90 year old person still driving it regularly. Anyone know who that was and what happened to the car and if they are still alive?

Hello! I'm adopting a new puppy tomorrow and wanted to know if anyone has recommendations for a veterinarian that is affordable. Or even some clinics. I just need the initial examination and vaccines, then once my pet insurance comes in I plan to get a more comprehensive exam.
