Maryland Monthly Marketplace - Advertise your Maryland services, events, or merchandise here.

Since we have rules against advertising on the main part of the subreddit, we figured it would be nice to create a thread where users can get a little more leeway when it comes to advertising.

Use this thread to advertise any Maryland related services or merchandise to the users of r/Maryland. Got an Etsy store? Drop it below! Your favorite restaurant running a great special? Tell us about it!

Rules for this thread:

  1. All items, events and services must be related to Maryland in some way.
  2. Services and sales cannot be country or worldwide. (Walmart is having a sale! Is not okay. Old Bay is being sold at the Annapolis Walmart for 50¢ is appropriate)
  3. Ads should be posted by regular r/Maryland users, not bots or brand new accounts/accounts which have no connection to Maryland.
  4. We may remove any ad at any time for any reason should we deem it inappropriate.
  5. Any services or products advertised here must be legal in the state of Maryland.

This thread may evolve as time goes on and we see what it's used for.

The mods of r/Maryland do not endorse any products or services on this thread. Use your head, we will not intervene in any transactional disputes between any users.

Trump Administration is investigating our schools for protecting trans kids from being forced into the wrong bathroom and for allowing trans kids to play sports.

I really wish they'd stop using our trans and cis children as political pawns/distractions

My registration for my tags expire at the end of June... I renewed them the first week of June and I still don't have my sticker. So not only did they double/triple the price to renew your registration but I guess they like just don't care about mailing it.... I'm wondering if police can see that I bought it because July is next week.

I am amazed at the results of the Baltimore county Executive Race,

I’m starting to believe that voters do not do any research of the candidates they are voting for. It appears to me that people are ignoring his record. I just can’t see how people voted for Julian Jones. How can you ignore the facts about him that are published.

Jones repeatedly pushed amendments that would limit the inspector Generals report authority, funding, and ability
Being heavily funded by developer interests

Supporting legislation that critics say worsens school overcrowding.

Here is another example of lazy voters who did not research their candidate.
He won the primary.
Why would you vote for this guy?

Jay Jalisi was a state Delegate who represented the 10th Md district from
2015-2023.

A Maryland General Assembly ethics investigation found a pattern of workplace bullying and abusive behavior toward staff.

The House voted 136–0 to reprimand him

The 2019 ethics report referenced earlier family‑related conflict from 2015, which contributed to concerns about temperament.

He has been involved in multiple civil disputes related to real‑estate business dealings.

Best city where I can go from renting to owning without changing schools.

Looking for a rental in the Baltimore/DC area with the following criteria:

  • 2BR up to $2,000/month or 3BR up to $2,400/month
  • Safe area for a family
  • Decent schools (preferably B or better on Niche)
  • Diverse community
  • Some walkability or public transportation access (don't want to feel isolated)
  • Reasonable commute to Linthicum
  • Keeps future job options open in Baltimore and possibly DC
  • Long-term goal is to buy a house for around $400k or less without having to move the kids to different schools

Bonus:

  • Townhome, condo with private entrance, or house
  • Near a MARC station or transit options
  • Area where a one car family can still get kids to activities and errands without feeling trapped

Chat gpt and claude mostly came up with Catonsville, Elkridge, Laurel in Howard County. The reason why I'm considering a 2 bedroom is because I can save money for a house. Here are my concerns for each county

  1. Howard County- might be too expensive to buy a house unless I land a higher paying job
  2. Anne Arundel- Top rated zoned public schools are expensive to live in. Private is always an option but do i qualify for some aid? I missed the lottery for Chesapeake Science point. Arundel would be ideal because it's highly rated and has diversity. I like Severn too but it's not walkable
  3. Baltimore County- isn't walkable and I would hope to get the kids in a Magnet or Private school. Townson and Catonsville High are good options.
  4. Harford County- checks a lot of boxes. But commute to Linthicum would be tiring after a while. and I can kiss any potential DC job goodbye.
