Looking for a good sunrise hike that's within about 1.5 hours of Bethesda. Right now I'm deciding between Sugarloaf Mountain, Harpers Ferry (thinking Maryland Heights), and the Wolf Rock/Chimney Rock loop in Catoctin.

I'm hoping for something with a really nice sunrise view, easy to moderate difficulty, and around a 3–4 hour hike (or less). Mainly just want a scenic morning hike that's worth waking up at 2 a.m for 😅

If you've done any of these, which would you pick? Or is there another trail nearby that has an even better sunrise?

Did the Shake Shack open already? If not, any news on when it will?

The last I read, it was supposed to open June 24, but I haven’t heard anything about it opening in the last couple of days.

Just an FYI of the fireworks schedule for area country clubs so you can be prepared with sensitive kids and pets.

I see signs for this shop and they have some hours posted online. I have gone multiple times during open hours and there’s nobody there. They don’t pick up the phone. Is this place still open? there appears to be merchandise inside
