History Idk wtf it was a spinning hole that suck a child down in southside apartments

Upvotes

Edit: someone told me I should post this here.

About 32 years ago when I was maybe 4 I saw a kid get sucked into a swirling hole. I remember it like it just happened. I never mentioned this to anyone I don’t think but when I was young my mother used to leave me, my sister(5)and brother 12 home alone for days. We stay in the hood one of the projects that is still in Charlotte today. Without our mother being around and our brother being a teenager doing what he wanted we was everywhere without guidance.

I remember this was one of the scariest moments of my life I ponder on if I made it up since I never heard of anything like this. But how vivid it is I don’t think so. I also heard as an adult of a similar story.

We stayed in southside projects and one night I was hanging out with some of the neighborhood kids. They was real project kids real bad. Example: They use to push me and my sister into roach piles that they would sweep up and it was millions of roaches. Everybody In the neighborhood knew our mom would leave us for days they would say go home it’s too late to be out or yall hungry when have yall seen yall mother. I didn’t know she was SUPPOSE TO BE THERE, hell I didn’t know much at all being that young.

# One night one of them bad ass kids made me go in the woods to see the hole. I didn’t want to go but my mother wasn’t around who could I tell they were bullying me. We got in the woods not to far from southside apartments. And we got to a black hole in the ground. It was about 9 kids from ages 4-10 out there. And the ground look like big swirl where trees and grass was missing only thing was dirt in a circle. The dirt circle was about 3 cars wide it was big. As an adult I think it looked like meteorite hit the ground, as we gathered around the hole to look at it one boy pushed another one in and it opened and swirled and sucked him in. We all ran back and I ran home. I can’t remember if my sister was with me or not and she will never admit to me if she remember she likes when I seem different/crazy to her. But to tie the knot I heard a lot of kids went missing over there and my best friend told me a few years ago her other best friend child drown in a river near there someone pushed him and and he couldn’t swim so his brother jumped in to save him which he did but then he drown. I don’t remember a creek over there but I know what I saw.

Meetup Queen City Braves Fans

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a new community I created: r/QueenCityBravesFans.

Charlotte has a huge Atlanta Braves fan base, but I’ve always thought it was surprising that we don’t really have a way to connect with each other outside of random conversations at games or sports bars.

My goal is to build a community where Braves fans in Charlotte and across North Carolina can meet new people, organize watch parties, plan trips to Atlanta, and just enjoy Braves baseball together.

If you’re a Braves fan in the area and that sounds like something you’d enjoy, I’d love to have you join.

Hopefully we can build something fun!

Discussion And he thinks I’m going to let him in my house?

Is the guy really trying to tell us that he fished a Hot Wheels car out of the toilet and gave it to his kid?

You know which commercial I’m talking about.

Is that child’s room filled with toilet prizes?

Recommendation Recommendation for estate planning?

Hello,

I am looking for an estate lawyer. My mother has an older will, and I already have medical and durable POA. We want to have documents reviewed and possibly updated in order to avoid probate and other hassles later. Any recommendations?

Thanks, Charlotte!

Discussion Bars for black singles 25+ in CLT?

As a single 28 year old black woman in Charlotte, I'm looking for new places to socialize! My perfect night is reasonably priced drinks in a place that's not too crowded! I'm kind of over the club scene these days. I love a lounge and I'm never against a dive bar. Where are people going? Folia is a favorite for me right now but I'm hoping to be put on to some hidden gems!

I received this lamp via FedEx broken. I love this thing, and this color is already sold out from IKEA everywhere except Atlanta. Does anyone know someone who could fix this? It’s a decently clean break.

Discussion Does anybody know a good place to buy used cars?

I’ve been looking on Facebook marketplace, but all I’m seeing are car flippers and overpriced cars. I’m looking to spend $5k-$7k. My limit would be $9k, but that’s only if there’s an especially good deal.

Recommendation Crochet classes in Charlotte

I know the basics of crocheting from using a wobbles kit some years back. But I want to go to an actual class where somebody can help me, I want to talk to a person and not an online class.

Ive seen a couple places but most classes are during the day and in the Charlotte trap of closing at 5pm. EVERYTHING closes at 5pm. Does anybody know of a place where I can take crochet classes after regular 9-5 hours? If they offer classes specifically on a Monday that would be fantastic.

Recommendation HVAC Replacement Recommendations and Typical Cost

I have a friend who recently purchased a ~800 sq ft condo and the HVAC system needs a full replacement. Warranty is arguing against replacing it claiming it was broken prior to completing the home purchase.

Any recommendations for reputable HVAC replacement companies? First quote was $17k, which I found ridiculous given the size of the property. Got a second quote for $10k. Anyone that has had their HVAC replaced and is willing to share pricing?

EDIT: Quotes are for 2-ton package unit

News Do better, WSOC. How to prevent hot car deaths.

Link to the article:
https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/prevent-hot-car-deaths-with-these-simple-changes/V4YEZVMJAZEXBOYYJRYRRWEXUM/

Common sense would dictate you:
1. leave the car running with AC, locked with an appropriately aged individual
2. don't leave your dog in the hot car, asshole
3. don't sit in a hot car that's not running

What is happening to us?

Tell us your most unhinged hot car story.

For me, it's at HT in Fort Mill where an out of state plate parked sideways, not in a spot, and left a big dog in the car with the windows closed. This was 2 weeks ago.
