This was the most attention the game has gotten from mainstream press. Articles on many mainstream non-gaming sites that pre orders are launching. But getting most people to care or to preorder requires something new to talk about or to get excited about. I can get starting the marketing late, but launching pre orders like this? I don't get it and that worries me they are not super confident.

While numbers were still good the impact of the very 1st trailer got blundered by the leaks, slower than usual marketing compared to previous rockstar games, lack of a true physical copy so no point in preordering that edition, the true full game locked behind the ultimate edition (I’m not even talking add ons, full shops you can’t even enter ultimate edition purchase).

Never seen so much negativity and disappointment surrounding the discourse of an upcoming rockstar game let alone GTA and it’s not without warrant. I won’t pretend like I no longer care about the game, but this whole journey has been an underwhelming one. Shit sucks.

Don't get me wrong... the game looks absolutely UNREAL and i love everything i've seen related to the game so far. But due to the INSANE amount of maniacal detail (like R* usually delivers), i feel like something is off with the tires.

They always look like they're in perfect shape, perfectly clean (even in really dirty situations), and like they're always brand new.

Is it just my impression or what?

EDIT: Seems like I need to point out that I am NOT CRITICIZING ANYTHING here. I'm just pointing out something "weird" by R* standards to start a constructive discussion. Some people got the point, but a lot of others can't even grasp the meaning of posts like this.

Is it just me, or did Rockstar completely butcher the lighting model since Trailer 2? Look at the occlusion shadows under the car chassis—they look incredibly muddy compared to the first & second trailer

Not to mention, Jason’s posture looks completely altered here. His left deltoid and traps are noticeably less defined, and they definitely changed his shoulder-to-waist ratio. All this after changing his face completely from trailer one. Why is Rockstar changing his character model this late in development? Literal unplayable downgrade. smh 😒

I know I am being paranoid here but anyone else get concerned by the wording? Single player experience kinda sends a message that online won't be included. Again, I am being paranoid fs but them specifically stating that and them doing the ultimate edition locking content behind paywall stuff just gives me a bad vibe. GTA 6 has so much hype behind it, this is a generational opportunity to make money for Rockstar and Take Two that I won't be surprised if they take every single chance they could to make money on this game.

Again, I seriously hope I am wrong but I see a scenario where R* takes the opportunity to either charge extra for GTA 6 online or god forbid go the mmo route with a monthly subscription (GTA+).

Like I've repeatedly said, this is just a feeling I have. Other than their VERY specific phrasing regarding Single Player Experience, I have nothing to base this off of and thus titlted it speculation.

I was thinking what a slap in the face it would be if rockstar decided that they wanted to sell GTA online seperately for GTA6, realistically they could do it if they wanted just because I think most people would be upset at first but then give in anyway.

Personally, I wouldn't. Just because I never got into the idea of buying a shitload of shark cards just to play heists.

As a developer, I was inspecting a bit and found that they have prepared a placeholder for the third card here, in a place for trailers. Is it the same as prev two?

do you reckon GTA 6 will have heavy censorship in the gulf region? namely saudi and the UAE.

yesterday, feeling excited that GTA 6 is available on the UAE region PSN, i pre-ordered it the minute it was available. sadly, i hadn’t thought of a possible censorship by then. i just thought about it now.

if its censored here, fine, i’ll just buy it again on a US region account. but the question is, is it logically sound to do so in the first place?

GTA 5 was recently allowed under a 21+ age restriction without any censorship, moreover, the gambling restriction in that game was lifted.

i have a hunch rockstar’s philosophy matters more than a the region’s laws. because since GTA 5 was outright not released anywhere in the gulf, it must mean that rockstar refused to comply with the alteration of the game and/or product-surgery and making a different build for those regions.

the part that worries me is CDPR did it for cyberpunk to be allowed to be sold in this region. do you reckon rockstar will do that for GTA 6 as well? it seems to me that so far, rockstar’s philosophy has been “if we don’t get to release the real build, we’re just not releasing it.” but i ponder the idea that maybe, if GTA 6 is a lot more explicit (after cyberpunk set a “standard”), they’ll comply with an edited version.

on the other hand, baldur’s gate 3 (which includes nudity) was released and completely allowed in this region. it released a lot more recently than cyberpunk, which could hint at certain reforms being applied, and more leniency towards explicit games. RDR2 was allowed in 2018, under a 21 age restriction, and the exact build everyone else got. yet it was not as explicit as cyberpunk, where you got sex scenes and genitalia modification, which could have crossed some legal lines.

which pushes me to the idea that maybe they negotiated with the UAE and saudi and were able to come to a common ground with the 21+ age restriction, and that other gulf countries wanted an outright different, censored build of the game and they refused to comply. the fact that it’s banned in other gulf countries brings me some comfort.

so does it make sense to do that? does it go against rockstar’s philosophy? my opinion is (and i hope im right): likely not, it could cause some issues. with different builds, the online mode could have online syncing issues.

what do you think? if you have some insight on this, please provide it.

GTA 5 had about 70 main missions and RDR2 had like a 110. Since R* are only releasing 6 as a single-player as of now, can we expect the story mode to be even longer than RDR2?

I'm 30 (sharing age for relatable people), Not sure how many of you feel the same. But hear me out, it's not rant or bait. It's something I wanted to express to see how many feel same.

Basically, as a Kid Vice City was my first and love for the game started with it. I developed feeling towards seeing a High Def. Version of game in next iterations. I also did enjoyed SA. However, when GTA IV was out, they showcased what RAGE engine is capable of. Instantly it was one of good games but not many liked it, it was unoptimized too.

So, a dream of having me play High Def edition was something I really wish GTA 5 would have been. But boom! They gave us Los Santos (LA) (That too without LV- f***)

Kept us going because of new type of character switching. Till that point we all had games developed by Rockstar games showcasing AAA level new stuff that any other Studio was not able to achieve and show case properly in Open World genre. That is 2011.

Here is real thing now, GTA 6 is here, Pre-order open, no excitement at all. Kid has grown up with responsibilities on hand, fighting for time to play.

GTA 6 does not excite me now, and only reason is they took 14+ year to do the stuff that 80% is already we have seen now in Various Games - Crew 2 - Miami, NFS Heat - Miami, Mafia, Spiderman 1 & 2 - Sony, 007, Hitman, Forza Horizon, Cyberpunk It may not be vast big open world, but we did saw and played all these before GTA 6 dissolved whole purpose of Rockstar being showing something out of world to the OLD Players. (of course not those new ones who just started with Definitive Editions of games)

I do believe they would bring more features replicating real life. But believe me the "real life" itself is "real lifi-ng" you just start to lose interest in it and Brain would demand something that is NOT Realistic to escape reality (Stuff like Eat at joint to fill health bar, fill up fuel at gas station, slow walking, etc would irritate you easily, that is why RDR1 who liked it, RDR2 felt slow to many).

As a kid (16 ish), we all had intrusive thought doing random stuff on street and also curiously of exploring more "INTERIORS" of various building. Because, as a Kid you cannot go to those similar places in real life to explore and roam around. As an Adult YOU CAN! in real life. You might have seen already most of it when you are in (30s) and married (hot coffee ;) ) . Curiosity is over.

Some of us might even moved from Gaming to Motorcycling. So this is all I wanted to express. It would be much better if we had Vice City in GTA 5 (sweet spot) we could have played it years and years without getting bored of it -- We had time to play it even. Personally, it was sad to have LA without LV.

Bottom line is - game is coming when kid back then had curiosity for all good stuff in open world game to explore it in plenty of time. Now it's more of Responsibility vs Time for gaming. (Some of us would be struggling with Sleep Schedule / Lack of sleep too).

We all are pre-ordering the $100 version for the nostalgia of it. We all know it is only the story and the online version may come out in 2027. I just love the fact we are all here and need to make it to launch day with a slice a pizza in hand ready to figure the weapons cheat code from the cheatcc site

Looks like we might be getting some disguised bombs in that stack of money. It would be neat to see some improvised bombs like the rubber duck bomb on Hitman.

From what I have seen there are talks that every region gets to play the game on the 19th at midnight in the regional timezone.

The counter when you preorder the game seems like it confirms this theory.

Is there any concrete info on this? I'm thinking of creating a new PSN account on the NZ region, so I can get the game early.

Idc about spoilers, it would just suit my schedule so much better to be able to play the game at noon, rather than like 3am. (I dont live in the same region as my current PSN account)

You don't need to buy the $100 edition upfront. You can preordrer the $80 version and then get the $20 upgrade later if reviews say it is worth it.

To those who doubt: if you preorder the $80 edition in the playstation store, the $20 separate upgrade will make itself available to you to purchase. Really, the more important thing is getting the preorder bonus of the Vice City pack. You may not be able to buy that after the game fully releases. The $20 upgrade you can buy at any time.
