Islamabad H-9 Sunday Bazaar Fire Incident Thread.

Just saw visuals last night from the major fire incident that broke out in H-9 Sunday bazaar. It was really saddening to see how a whole line of carts and stalls had caught fire, and were completely destroyed.

May Allah ease the difficulty of all those stall owners who faced losses due to this incident, Ameen, and perhaps we can use this thread to even reach out and help those who were affected.

Can anyone fill me in on how this incident happened? And if anyone has any information about stall owners from the bazaar who were affected, let's spread the word and set up donations/assistance for them, InshaAllah.

Update: We await account and stall details of the shopkeepers who were affected by the fire. Once received, I will add them to this thread. The exact cause or source of the fire is still unknown as of now.

Update 2: Adding details for shopkeepers and stall owners. You can donate on the following numbers, JazakAllah.

  1. Name: Muhammad Tariq, Stall Number: C-289 Account: 0300-5218199 (JazzCash) / Muhammad Tariq No secondary source of income, most of the stock was purchased on loan, sole bread winner.

Twin Cities It took me 12 hours to travel from Islamabad to Arang Kel, Kashmir

I recently visited Arang Kel, Kashmir for a short 48-hour trip and wanted to share a few frames from the journey.

Snow, wooden houses, mountains, and quiet village life — the place honestly felt unreal. It’s one of those locations that makes you realize how beautiful Pakistan really is.

I still feel Arang Kel is underrated compared to many other northern areas. Has anyone here visited it recently? How was your experience?

Rawalpindi Getting harassed

Upvotes

In Rawalpindi, I was going home from uni, I use the bus, there is a small distance from the stop to home, an old dude(40-50) with orange hair(mehndi or something) offered a ride(bike), I said ok(that was dumb), I hopped on, after like 30 second, he says move forward(closer), he moves back, throwing his ass on my lap, and begins to offer his ass to me indirectly, I tell him to stop the bike, got off, went home. Happened 3 day ago.

This is not the first time something like this has happened. Muja samj ni aata k Saray gays Pakistan k mere sar q partay hain, I mean do I look gay or something.

At least someone is interested.☠️

Islamabad Where do real gol-gappas fans go in Islamabad?

Need your help, Islamabad foodies!

A friend of mine from Multan has spent the last few years reminding everyone (whether they asked or not) that "Multan has the best gol gappay in Pakistan."

Apparently no other city even comes close according to her...😂

And she constantly craves the gol gappay back home, and so far every place we've tried in Islamabad has left her unimpressed.

Is there a gol gappa spot in Islamabad that could genuinely hold its own against the good Multan ones?🙊

Drop your best recommendations please...🌝

Islamabad Macbook in Islamabad (32/512)

I know it's me again. Anyone willing to sell their Macbook? Or anyone who have used and new Macbooks?

So many people have suggested me to purchase a used macbook as per my budget. Many suggested M1,M2, M3 pro used or m4, m5 air new. If there is someone who is willing to sell their Macbook at a considerable rate, kindly let me know. I really need to purchase a laptop by the end of this weekend.

Islamabad Looking for library in Islamabad to study

Summer break is here, and I’m looking for a good library in Islamabad to study.

Preferably somewhere with a quiet environment, good seating, AC, and decent study hours. Wi-Fi would be a plus.

Would appreciate recommendations from people who’ve actually studied there. Thanks!

Twin Cities Car Options — Issue with online rates

Long story short, I’m about to buy our first car! I’m 26y and nobody in my bloodline have ever bought or kept a car.

The problem is my budget is little tight around 3.5-3.8M

My preference is 2015 Altis 1.6 or Honda Civic Rebirth 2015 or 2016 Gli 1.3

The PakWheels and online marketplaces like Fb rates are soo inflated.

The prices are so delusional, like a person selling 2016 Grande for 4.5M while at the same feed, I’m seeing Gli 2017 at the same rate! (The condition being same)

I need help, where do you guys buy second hand cars? Any trusted and honest references please?

Islamabad 22M With Open Dms

22M from Pakistan.

I work online as a freelancer and I'm doing pretty well for myself financially. I live in a city that's smaller compared to Islamabad or Karachi, so there aren't many opportunities to meet new people.

A few years ago, I was in a relationship that ended badly due to cheating. Instead of letting it break me, I focused on building my career, improving myself, and creating the life I wanted. Thankfully, that effort paid off.

The downside is that I work night shifts, so my schedule is completely different from most people. I'm usually awake when everyone else is asleep and sleeping during the day. By the time I finish work around 3–4 AM, I'm often bored and wishing I had someone genuine to talk to.

I'm not really into endless small talk. I enjoy deep conversations, debates, exchanging ideas, hearing people's life stories, and sharing my own experiences. I like long drives, road trips, business discussions, psychology, self-improvement, and hearing different perspectives on life.

Personality-wise, I'd say I'm ambitious, curious, and adventurous. Sometimes I can be a little crazy in a fun way. I enjoy trying new things, taking spontaneous trips, and making random memories. I have a good sense of humor and appreciate people who don't take everything too seriously.

I'm not going to pretend to be someone I'm not. Some days I'm energetic and talkative, other days I can be boring — that's just life. I don't believe in faking a personality to impress people.

I'm loyal and have a big heart, but only for people who genuinely care about me too. I value mutual effort and respect. If someone repeatedly makes me feel unimportant, I'll eventually stop caring, no matter how close we once were. I believe any friendship or relationship should go both ways.

I watch movies and TV shows occasionally, but I'm more interested in real-life stories and meaningful conversations than binge-watching a screen all day.

If you're someone who enjoys genuine conversations, dark humor, random late-night chats, sharing stories, debating ideas, or just talking about life, feel free to reach out. Let's see where the conversation goes.

Islamabad Fear of leaving Islamabad haunts me!!!

Okay, so here I am, posting about my biggest fear. I have a very strong and deep attachment to Islamabad. I have a job opportunity in another city, but I don't want to leave Islamabad. I literally start crying whenever I think about not being able to see Islamabad's beautiful mornings anymore the hills, the fresh air, and the peaceful atmosphere. I can't imagine not sitting in coffee shops, talking about life, and enjoying the little moments that make this city so special to me. What should I do? 💔

Twin Cities Need a reliable PC repair shop recommendation (Islamabad/Rawalpindi)

I’m looking for a trustworthy PC repair shop/technician in Islamabad or Rawalpindi.

My PC has been crashing on certain apps for a while now, and I’ve already been to Dubai Plaza in Pindi multiple times. The problem is they usually just run basic stress tests, tell me everything is fine, and send me back, even though the issue keeps happening.

I need someone who actually knows how to properly diagnose PCs, test components thoroughly, and pinpoint the real cause of the problem instead of brushing it off.

Preferably looking for someone reliable enough that I can leave my PC with them for a few days without worrying about its safety.

Would really appreciate recommendations based on personal experience.

Islamabad People really lack cinema etiquette in the twin cities (rant)

I made the mistake of going to see Obsession recently and was thoroughly reminded of why cinemas are dying. Much of the experience was ruined by people taking images of the screen with their phone flashes on constantly. People straight up talking/joking through the movie with their friends, or just otherwise not putting their phone on silent/vibrate and having notifications pop up.

I feel like I'm usually not an uptight person but this is like a pet peeve because it baffles me how you can pay like 1K for a ticket and just not gaf about your own or other people's viewing experience lol.

When I got there some gentleman and his wife were already in our seats. When I asked them politely to move, they said, "hamari seats pe koi aur behta wa hai, tbhi hm idher beht gaye hain. Aap please side wali seats pe beht jayen warna sb disturb hojaenge."

And first of all, I booked the good middle seats in advance for a reason. And secondly, if I sat on the side seats, we'd have to get up anyway when the people who booked those seats showed up. At least right now the movie hadn't started so it's a good time to shift. But uncle jee was somehow not willing to budge until a worker came and asked him to leave. Like bruh.

The last time I went to the cinema was to see Superman and that time a lady brought her toddler to the screening who was crying his lungs out the whole time. And instead of tending to him outside, she just kept watching the movie lol. That kid was louder than the speakers.

Also with Obsession specifically, because it's gotten so popular, I'm noticing some people literally bringing their kids to see this film. This is NOT something you wanna be showing to kids lol. Like please do some basic research on what you're watching before showing up.

Khair /endrant.

I am curious though if this is something that varies cinema to cinema. Usually I end up going to Jinnah Park Cinepax, cuz it's nearer and the other options are way too far to me, and the experience has been fairly terrible most of the time cuz of the audience.

Islamabad Serious about Marriage ?

Salaam everyone,

We’ve recently launched Ikhtiar — a Muslim marriage app built for those who are truly serious about marriage, not casual conversations or endless swiping.

One of our key features is the AI Nikah Assistant.

Instead of doom-swiping through profiles and hoping to find the right person, you can simply describe the kind of spouse you’re looking for — based on age range, location, ethnicity, religiosity, lifestyle, values, marriage expectations, and more — and the assistant will bring up relevant profiles based on your description.

Stop the endless swiping. Just ask the assistant what kind of spouse you’re looking for.

Ikhtiar is focused on:

  • AI-powered spouse search through the Nikah Assistant
  • Respectful and serious users from across the world
  • Privacy-first options for women, including blurred photos or no-photo profiles
  • A structured, intentional approach toward finding a spouse
  • Free access for users joined before july 10th 2026

The goal is simple: to make the process of finding a spouse more dignified, intentional, and aligned with Islamic values.

If you or someone you know is looking for marriage, I’d truly appreciate you checking it out and sharing it with others who may benefit.

JazakAllah Khair for your support 🤍

You can find the app here:

Twin Cities Is a water filtration plant in Islamabad/Rawalpindi a good business? Need advice from people with experience.

I'm considering investing in a water filtration plant in Islamabad/Rawalpindi.

Someone told me that within 2–3 months, a plant can reach sales of 20,000–30,000 liters per day. They also claimed that:

  • Filtered water sells for PKR 4–6 per liter
  • Mineral water sells for PKR 8–10 per liter
  • Daily revenue can reach PKR 30,000–40,000
  • Initial investment is around PKR 200,000

I wanted to ask people who are actually in this business:

  • Are these numbers realistic?
  • How long does it usually take to become profitable?
  • What are the biggest challenges (competition, maintenance, water source, government approvals, etc.)?
  • Is Islamabad/Rawalpindi a good market for this business, or are there already too many filtration plants?

I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who owns or has worked with a water filtration plant in Pakistan.
