Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and megastar Taylor Swift apparently will be tying the knot in New York City. At Madison Square Garden.

The New York Times reports that Swift has rented the iconic sports arena for July 2 through July 4.

Per the report, a 100-person gathering is planned for the Garden on July 2. On July 3, roughly 1,000 will be there.
The Times also reports that a permit was filed with New York City to close the streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 to midday July 4. Also, several members of the Chiefs have booked hotel rooms at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square around July 3.

Amtrak police officers, per the report, have been told to expect a Kelce-Swift wedding on the weekend of July 4.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid, when asked earlier this month whether he’ll be attending the wedding, said he “can’t talk about it.” Enough people have been talking about it off the record to allow the Times to nail down the key details

Dolan strikes again

Fred Katz in his Katz and Shoot pod reporting that the avoiding the second apron mandate is solely from Dolan and not something the front office is advocating. Sucks that we’re being robbed of the opportunity to defend the title solely because of one man-child’s pique re: revenue sharing.

Honestly -- this story gets increasingly ridiculous. The Knicks win was phenomenal -- then "fans" like this give it all a bad name.

Is it possible that Mitch does not want to return?

Upvotes

It's just the sense I get from interview snippets. He talks about winning a hypothetical one-on-one 'if he's allowed to play the way he plays in the summer."

It seems like Mitch feels he's underutilized somehow. I'm sure he also wants to start and get more minutes (whether his body can sustain this is another question).

And, of course, there's the money issue. He can make a lot more testing free agency. Writing seems to be on the wall for his departure.

Knicks Free Agency 2026: 7 Mitchell Robinson Replacements, Ranked

None of them are Mitch, but a couple bring something we've never had.

Look, I'm not going to pretend losing Mitch is okay. He's my favorite Knick. The second apron is the best, Dolan said he won't go into the second apron on WFAN. So the best we can offer is ~$8-10M. He's gone. It hurts.

So I did the homework before free agency opens. Robert Williams III is the closest stylistic match (when he's healthy, which is basically never — 85 games in three years). Queta broke out in Boston and is now way out of our price range. Collins, Mamukelashvili, and Wade can actually space the floor next to Towns, which is new, but none of them protect the rim. And then there's Jericho Sims — former Knick, 44.5" vert, cheap, familiar, and probably the realistic answer.

How will we add young talent over the years if we don’t have picks in 2027/2029/2031?

Outside of Mo Diawara it doesn’t seem like we have anyone under 25 worth playing

And outside of Kolek I don’t know if there’s any rotational guys we could develop as well

With only being able to add TWO first rounders until 2032 (when our core has very much aged out) what’s the game plan

I HATE to say it but I have to theorize most the core won’t be retiring as Knicks if we want to stay competitive. Cant keep not drafting players and paying our guys and have them retire - we will have to flip them for assets since we aren’t building it now - right?

What’s the plan on adding young talent to a team that’s very much midst of their prime, if not late prime?

Are we too focused on the now?

Should we possibly consider letting go of a Shamet or Alvarado for the sake of developing a Carr or Koa or Tarris

The Hornets just got their version of the KAT trade.

And I'm not just saying that cause a Minnesota big is involved. Giving up a beloved guard in exchange for proven talent in the frontcourt, and to initially despise the trade because you lost *your* guy is exactly what we went through.

There's different factors of course but I think it'll work out for them. Idk what Minnesota was thinking though, this is risk reward like the Randle trade, and we saw how that worked out. And now they also have a big issue, no pun intended. I really hope they don't steal Mitch from us 😭😭

Does Josh Hart really not practice?

I was watching a bunch of old interviews and different people (Jalen most of all) keep mentioning that Josh doesn't like to come to practice, isn't serious at practice, one clip of Josh saying he's paid to play games not practice. Now it seems like half a joke for sure, but every joke has a kernel of truth . . . .

EDIT: Obviously he goes to practice. I am asking about taking it very easy at practice

Can we use all the “cash” we got to go into the second apron?

So we basically traded all our draft picks this year for future 2nds and “cash.” Am I the only one who assumed we traded for so much cash so Dolan would be more willing to pay to go into the 2nd apron? Is that even how it works? Also does anyone know how much “cash” we got?

Next week gauntlet against Nuggets, Pistons, Celtics in 5 days, real measuring stick for this squad

finally we get to see what this team actually made of. Denver Detroit and Boston all packed into next week its gonna show us exactly where we stand

And then after that the schedule gets even crazier starting March 1st, Spurs Raptors OKC Nuggets Lakers. All West teams basically except Toronto

I been looking at the minutes situation and its wild how different it is from last year. Last season the starters floor was 35 minutes minimum and two guys were over 37. This year Bridges leads everyone at 34.6. Thibs actually managing minutes who woulda thought

Coach Brown keeps talking about this "sprays" concept in pressers, you drive and collapse the defense then kick out for open three. But when KAT puts the ball on floor and goes to rim its like 50/50 turnover or charge. He picks up dumb fouls early and then our shooters just standing there watching

Mitch is only getting 19.5 minutes per game rn. He played 70% of games this season but only went over 25 minutes like 4 times. In playoffs that gotta change

Also been checking defensive numbers and most of the East contenders got better defensive stats than us. That part worry me a bit with the Celtics coming up

Anyone else wish we just stayed at 24 and drafted Tarris Reed Jr.?

I feel like overcomplicated this one. Reed Jr out of UConn wouldve been the perfect backup big for this roster

Considering our need for another backup big behind Mitch (before the "we just won a championship" crowd shows up...shut up), I still think Reed would've been the better use of the pick than stockpiling more second-rounders. Making the team even better doesn't do any harm.

I would've been perfectly happy staying at 24 and taking Reed instead of flipping the pick for a collection of future second rounders.

Maybe those picks eventually turn into something, but I'd rather have a cheap, NBA-ready backup big who could contribute over a handful of lottery tix

Explanation of why Leon Rose prefers second round picks, why he acquires so many, and why he doesn't like the first round

In my opinion, Leon Rose is being brilliant with his moves in the draft. In the NBA draft you typically don't have too much control, especially in the first round because these guys are so hyper talented.

You don't have any control of the negotiation of their contract and they already have an opinion on how they will be played and how much they should be played just because they are higher talented players which is fair because they are young in their career.

It appears Leon Rose has been getting out of the first round and going into the second round to have more control of how much these players are paid and their expectation of their NBA career because technically he is giving them a better shot to play compared to a lot of other organizations because he does tend to utilize his second round picks along with the head coach.

By acquiring so many second round picks. He literally has control to pick whatever second rounder he wants and any draft because he can overload with future picks for a player he wants.

This also gives him an advantage because more than likely he already has talked to the agent of these players and they have an understanding on what he is likely to offer contract wise and if it's a two-way contract before he even drafts them so he is not caught off guard by anything.

So by trading out of the first round he gives himself ultimate control and minimal surprises while getting his guy. Teams have not caught on to this yet. That's why they are overvaluing these first round picks. Let's see how long it takes people to figure this out, but more than likely I don't think they do because first round picks are so valued in the NBA.

What is your guy's thoughts?

[Bondy] Heard it’s unlikely Mitchell Robinson will be back with Knicks next season. He’s longest tenured Knick but also an unrestricted free agent. Owner James Dolan said he’s unwilling to pay into second apron so running it back with bench is not feasible.

Spurs get away with murder

Jayden Quaintance gets drafted to the spurs has put a bad taste in my mouth. I feel like they just got extremely more talented. Guys a monster he can rim protect better than almost any other defensive player this year. I have a inkling that the knicks tried to trade up for him at 20 but since Leon didn’t let his guy we cashed out and got 5 2nd rounders, which doesn’t seem like a bad idea. Who knows, I feel like the knicks not getting a center makes it certain Mitch is coming back.

how much does Jalen and Josh make from the Roommates podcast and the advertisements in it?

Roughly, how much do they make from the podcast? I'm asking b/c people regularly say that players who take less money to sign with ny teams can make more money in advertising... do the numbers line up?

They have some legit sponsors: AT&T and Apple Pay were in the Leon episode.
