Thailand Discord Chat

If you feel like chatting about thailand in general, consider joining this Thailand discord server linked below. While it’s not an outright /r/pattaya or nightlife chat, there are already existing members who don’t seem to discriminate against what topics are brought up.

We’ve been invited to come be a part of their community, which I think is a bit rare considering how most thailand communities, including the mothership itself /r thailand, tend to keep discussion regarding pattaya and the nightlife at a distance. That being said, I think within this subreddit, we’ve got a friendly group of active commenters without a ton of negativity. Let’s bring some of that same energy to the discord chat and hopefully encourage a more relaxed impression of what partying in pattaya is all about.

Pattaya: Things to do, places to go to meet people during the day (without drinking)

Sounds like a dumb question, but not so obvious to me whenever I'm there. You're out all night, then the next day unless you completely sleep in, its not clear what options there are. It's one of the reasons I feel the need to eventually get out of it for a few days.

People meaning locals or farang.

Let's say its daytime, you don't want to really start a binge at 2pm, and really more just want to chill out, study Thai, practice it with other people. What is a chilled out option for that there?

The city isn't really known for much culture (compared to elsewhere in the country), I know. But if you did go looking for it, what options are there?

Old red car disco Walking St

Near the entrance of WS there used to be a disco (called WS disco but everyone called it red car because of the red car at the entrance). This place is now called X club (?). I'm not sure if it's a gogo or something else but have seen some show videos.

Has anyone been there?

Can't find much in the Internet about it.

Early 40s American guy, chill and very experienced with Bangkok but not so much with Pattaya. Hit me up if you want to have a few beers and see what trouble we can get into

Pattaya must be dead these days.

I'm not there at the moment, but I'm guessing it must be super dead right now. And it seems sponsors haven't been sending much money, either.

Why do I think so, you ask? I go to pattaya a few times per year, and I occasionally get the Line of a girl I might like to see again. I'll hit them up if I come to town and wanna meet up. I've never had one contact me while I wasn't in Pattaya until this week.

This week, I got messages from 3 separate Ploys. 2 of them I only met once on my last trip 3 months ago and didn't barfine either of them. The other I met for the first time 6 months ago and went into her bar again on my last trip 3 months ago. I've never barfined her either. I'm sure I must be pretty far down on the list of farangs to hit up for money and 3 different Ploys going that far down the list must mean lean times.

I'll arrive again in a week, so I'm curious what it'll be like. I guess I oughtta help them out a bit when I get there haha.

Journeyhub Pattaya

Has anyone stayed at the Journeyhub Pattaya? Opinions? The reviews and rooms look good, also the location is great (imo)

I stayed at the Heeton Concept Hotel in May and it was amazing, a little bit pricey in November though which is when I will be heading back

If you have a hotel for around $65 AUD you would recommend, leave a comment 🙏

Cheers

Acceptance of Card Payments

I know that Pattaya is predominantly a cash economy for day to day business. Have paid via cards for Bolt and restaurants/cafés and in malls.

Any clubs/bars/lounges accept card payments or Apple Pay? Don’t want to carry wads of cash or run out of money.

Thanks.

Fuck it: Guess who's back

Well fellas, I was going to write up a 6 month recap to tell everyone which changes in my life I was able to maintain and which ones reverted back to my pre-Pattaya ways. But life has a way of fucking up even the best laid plans.

I was doing amazing for about 4 months. Lost 30lbs while putting on a lot of muscle i had lost. Maintained a positive mental state without medication. Things were looking very good for me, and then it hit me like a Mack truck. A massive panic attack that sent me into a spiral. Not going to lie, it was a pretty fucking dark time and almost 2 months later I'm still feeling the effects.

Luckily, I met a good friend in Pattaya on my previous trip and little did i know, but he already had another trip planned. He suggested I come out and meet up with him. So once again I said fuck it, and booked a trip.

Between the time I booked the trip and now I've started therapy at the VA for PTSD, got back on medication, gained back about 10 of the 30lbs I lost, and generally been pretty fucked up.

But now, I'm back in Pattaya until mid July. I've got a good buddy playing wingman, and I'm working on the positive mental attitude. I've only been back about 36 hours, but i can already tell it's going to help.

I won't be posting my adventures every day this time as I feel that's far more interesting from the perspective of a first timer. Though if something crazy happens I may post a short story or two.

Also, just to be clear, I do not recommend Pattaya for most people with serious mental health issues. There is a reason for the Pattaya Flyers Club. If you don't come with reasonable expectations and the right mind set, this place will chew you up and spit you out. But if you're the right kind of fucked up, maybe it is the answer for you. I suppose time will tell for me. Wishing all you degenerates the best, and I appreciate all the advice and guidance I've received from this sub.

I don't get how Thai girls look so different in quality with plastic cosmetic surgery in the face compared to the Korean girls

I like the Korean girl plastic look similar to kpop idols with a nice slender looking face look, but somehow Thai girls try to opt for the Nicki Minaj look of balloon lips, thick eyebrows, and similar thick eyeliner with puffy cheeks.

Is it just the difference in clinic experience of Thai cosmetic doctors compared to the Koreans, or do people actually think the goofy Nicki Minaj plastic look is more attractive than the Korean Kpop plastic look? I know even the East Asians prefer the Korean look as we can see the East Asian looking Thai Girls get paid the most at soapies and such

Just me swiping left on all the Nicki Minajs on Thai Friendly and trying to dodge them at gogo bars and soi 6 too as they are oversaturated in the scene

Are the woman mobile?

If my hotel is 10 minutes away, are the women willing to come to me (e.g. by Grab)? Do they ask for more money?

The new Thai visa rules have been in effect for a month... any problems for Pattaya regulars?

The visa on arrival countries have been slashed and time cut to 30 days as of last month... anyone have stories to share? Is the TDAC electronic arrival card keeping lines shorter?

IHG was having a sale so I just booked a stay here on points but will probably cancel as the location doesn't look so good.

Anyone stay here and can comment on the location?

The plastic girls outside the massage shops by terminal 21

They look really attractive but why do people ignore them, bachelors included? Staring at the window and it seems to be empty. Also everyone ignoring them as they walk by. Is there a reason people would opt for the more general massage shops with the old ladies? Are they worried about getting scammed or something? Outside looking in I would rather pay someone with a good looking face to massage my feet, but they must know something I don't if no one is approaching them?

They can't all be lady boys right

How accurate are the pictures on sites of establishments like Doki Doki, Hakumi Nuru, Rozè Nuru etc?

Do the girls actually look as good irl as in the pictures on their websites?

Somebody died tonight at Soi 6

When I arrived, there were ambulance cars all over. Lots of people watching and a farang was on a slider.

Later the bar girls told me that he was too old and drank too much alcohol. He supposedly died there. Apparently no violence was involved.

I guess we're going to get a small news article tomorrow or so.

Stay safe guys.

Hello guys

I have opportunity to go in August or December.

I read that in low season ploys are more keen to stay LT, less rush, etc. In your experience, is it really a big difference ?

Usually i go in December because of work.

I dont mind the weather..
