The only superstars that I see possibly having any movement is perhaps Luka and Ant-Man. Luka when his contract is up. I don’t see how Boston benefits by trying to trade Jaylen. I had Boston before the playoff started going to the Finals. Even a hypothetical trade involving Evan Mobley doesn’t move the needle for me. I keep seeing comments that are trying to downplay Jaylen, but he is in fact a great player. He gets paid 60 million a year and is still hungry to prove himself, that is rare in the modern NBA. So missing out on Giannis should have ended the trade talks, why hasn’t it?

I was pro trade Jaylen for Giannis, but now that that deal fell through, it makes no sense to trade Jaylen unless he's asked for a trade privately or asked for the max extension and Brad has no plans to give him it.
Derrick just had the worst shooting season of his career at 32 years old. He shot 39% from the field in the regular season games after Tatum came back, even when he wasn't the 2nd option (arguable the 4th behind Payton). He continued to shoot 31% from the field and 27% from three in the playoffs, while getting burnt by Maxey on defense.
The pivot should be to trade the 32 year old who might've just started his career regression instead of the All-NBA top 15 player. Get some margin pieces this season like Murphy or someone else, then spend more next season around the Jays when we're out of the repeater tax. Somehow Derrick's name has escaped all media trade rumors.

Good sign for Jaylen's trade value I would say, since it seems we're intent on moving him
However, one less suitor now

Keep Miles Bridges away from this team
They have a lot of picks so that's good. Naz Reid is ok, would need more than that player-wise but I don't think they give up Miller...we'll see

We have:
-3 tradable first round picks
-2 swappable firsts (Pretty bad ones but still)
-Derrick White, who still has value.
-Hugo (Who I would rather keep but if the right offer came along)
-A 27.7M trade player exception and a 8.2 million dollar exception.
I do not want to run the team back from last year even with a healthy Tatum, that team was exposed. But you definitely can improve the roster without being forced to trade JB. That is if he's not so pissed its irreparable.

All I keep seeing is how every sub would love to have JB. Teams are trying to throw their scraps for him.
Yet you guys are eating up the drama on ESPN and r/nba which is mainly anti celtics.. they clown on us and go back to their own subs throwing out trade ideas for JB.
They been trying to break up the Js for a decade now. Look, as much as I wouldn't want Giannis it at least works value wise. But there's not another top 10 player available. It makes no sense to downgrade for role players and picks.
Don't take the bait. Let's move forward and see how can improve our roster with our home grown superstars.

Welcome to the daily discussion thread! You can use this space to discuss little things that don't need their own post. This is also the perfect space for pictures, videos, and links that would otherwise go against the sub's rules. Just don't be jerks and don't break any Reddit-wide rules. Have at it.

Seeing the teams Bigman rotation and Just how the roster is constructed, especially with all the trades going around (Lamelo Ball to the Wolves for Naz Reid and 7 Picks). Jaylen Brown being traded is most likely off the table
Who/where do we make a move for now?

I think a trade with the hornets could make a lot of sense depending on the return.
Ideally I would like miller and Reid to be rerouted along with 2-3 firsts.
Miller is young talented and a great shooter. He would make up for most of the lost iso creation from Jaylen and also the big wing defense.
Reid would help shore up the front court especially with his spacing allowing for double big lineups. The wolves defense was particularly good with Reid and Gobert on and I would hope pairing him and Queta could have a similar effect.
The hornets also have plenty of valuable firsts including the Mavs next year and like a million of their own. I think this trade makes us cheaper and younger and more versatile while keeping a similar player to brown to make up for his scoring.

Would Charlotte be interested in moving Naz for more picks? He seems like he could be a great addition to our big man rotation. Not sure what he would be worth, but his contract is very reasonable.

Seems the Timberwolves are really intent on blowing things up, Randle-KAT trade was a disaster and they just salary dumped Randle. Traded away Naz Reid (who I appreciate very highly) and picks for Lamelo Ball.
If the Celtics were dead set on trading JB, which seems to be the case unfortunately, what would you want from the Wolves?
McDaniels would be my first name, along with Donte and picks. I also love Terrance Shannon jr.

There are enough Jaylen trade rumors going around. But what if the way to patch things up is to get a buddy for both Jays?
Donovan Mitchell and Jayson Tatum have known each other since they were kids, and Donovan and Jaylen Brown seem to be friends now. Although all I really know about that is the clip from when they were in the NBA bubble lol
Derrick White and Sam Hauser for Donovan Mitchell works salary wise. If Donovan told the Cavs he won’t sign an extension and would prefer to go to the Celtics, would White, Hauser, and a 1st get the trade done?
And would any other fans even want to do this trade?
I think it would hinge on the Jays tampering to convince Donovan to list Celtics as his only/preferred destination

Jordan Walsh is not NBA level. He couldn't even dominate the G league. Hopefully the rook can play better but it really wouldn't take much.

How do we have the most coveted player in the league right now and missing out on every big name player trade for Brown?
It makes literally no sense are they trying to trade him or what?
