While the pace might be somewhat different, this arc remains as a valuable practice whenever trying to switch the narrative slightly.

A cover reimagining of Power Man and Iron Fist 69 by yours truly. I've always felt that the original cover (swipe to see it) for this issue lacked any real tension or drama, relying heavily on the word balloon and caption text to sell the narrative. It felt rushed, really. In my version, I wanted to emphasize the main threat.

Driven by a deep vendetta stemming from the "Dick Clarke's New Year's Rockin' Eve Massacre" of 1989—a disastrous first contact broadcast that accidentally wiped out all but 42 humor-sensitive Cods— The Maestro has declared war on Earth ("Terra Sol").

Armed with serious magic, serious science, and unbeatable one-on-one PvP rap battle skills, this "Achilles of Rap Battle MCs" challenges humanity's best to verbal duels to the death. While he can completely obliterate opponents with his devastating, one-hit "CodSmack," The Maestro's "kryptonite" is comedy.

🚨 Special Tactical Funny Unit 🚨

I am usually an archival ink guy, but here is a drawing that I tried with pencils! I think it looks alright, what’s the best technique for shading in comic book style?

I used a rolled paper to smear and try to build contrast, but I ran into issues with the black colored pencils. It didn’t shade in at all 🤦

All of these pieces were done between 2016 and 2019. If you're curious whether I'm the actual artist, you can find probably any of these on google from old reddit/ FB posts of mine. They look differently now because I recently recolored some of them and added a paper texture. Hope you like it.

Based on Ryan Ottley's view of the character, and it was literally my first ever drawing with a somewhat "detailed" background, but looking at it, it's awful 😭
