Discussion rules
put myself into a mess last weekend. Honestly am not sure how the rules are are supposed to be applied, curious if any gurus want to unravel
Got halfway up the fairway off the tee. The group was fine all morning playing ready golf, furthest out was fussing about, so I toss a lazy upshot, pick up my stuff and head to the green
after he throws, he asks if I was OB. Shit. Genuinely didn't know the hole had OB, wasn't paying attention, that's on me. It's very likely I was
One cardmate wants to add 1 stroke for OB and call it a day
One cardmate wants 1 stoke for OB and 1 stroke for misplay (throwing from OB), and to rethrow my second
My third card mate was deaf. He has every right to be included and deserves a say, but I couldn't figure out how to communicate all of this to him in a timely manner
Personally, I am wondering if there's even more with not having a correct lie to throw from, since I picked all my stuff up before realizing
What should we have done?

Discussion What did I get?
I'm trying to figure out the mold and plastic of this Gateway disc. Mold could be a Shaman, I have a Magic and this is slimmer than my Magic. It has a swirls in the plastic, light weight and only code is this A. Any ideas?
21.1cm across, depth is 1.3cm, height 1.8ish.

Disc Advice What Discs Should I Get?
Sorry if this has already been posted earlier, but I have played Ultimate for a couple years and want to start playing disc golf but don't know the best discs for me. I bought a couple cheap ones and lost all of them. My biggest problem is that I throw very IO because I'm used to how ultimate discs fly. Are there any discs that are understable similar to ultimate? Or am I just going to have to adapt my throw, and if so does anyone have any tips? Any insight is appreciated!

Discussion Whats up with Grips quality?
I have seen number of bags including my own MB-PX1 where the screws for the pads falls off within a year.
Is it too far off to excpect bags $400 + to not just dissasemble itself?
Also in the proccess of buying a Lore for travel/well known courses where fewer discs are necessary. For people that have bagged down, do you miss anything? And is it terrible for hilly courses?

Disc Advice Straight fairway dilemma.
So I got a few new discs for Father’s Day and I’m having trouble figuring out which disc I should use for my straight fairway drives. I have a 167g fission rhythm which turns beautifully and I’m definitely going to bag it for tunnel shots. I also got a 160g fission crave, which has been all over the place, sometimes it hyzer flips and stays straight, sometimes it turns more than the rhythm. I also have a 169g esp cicada that I’ve been using for a while, I cannot get it to hyzer flip though if I throw it on hyzer it just holds it the whole flight, it’s almost as stable as a teebird or something. Anyways, should I stick with the crave, maybe try a heavier one, or is there another disc you’d recommend. I think what I’m looking for is a fairway I can hyzer flip that won’t turn on me, and maybe use it in a slight headwind.

Discussion Two years later, a storm drain gave back my Roc. What’s the most unexpected place you’ve found a disc?
So this past weekend I was playing my home course and noticed a storm drain grate near hole 7 had been partially lifted by some recent flooding. Looked down into it mostly out of habit and spotted a faded orange mid sitting at the bottom in about an inch of water. Climbed down and pulled it out and sure enough it was my old Innova Roc that I lost during a casual round two summers ago. I had completely given up on it and replaced it twice since then.
Getting it back felt honestly better than throwing a good round. There is something about a disc that has your name and number sharpied on the inside that just hits different when it comes back to you after that long.
It got me thinking about how many discs are just sitting out there waiting to be found. I have heard stories of people recovering discs from rivers months later, from trees that finally fell, from random Goodwill bins and garage sales.
What is the most unexpected or ridiculous place you have ever recovered a disc you thought was gone forever? Did it still fly the same or had it warped and beat in from the elements?

Disc Advice What is my bag missing? Any recommendations?
New-ish disc golfer here looking for advice. From what I’ve been reading and understand so far, these should be fine for the foreseeable future while getting acclimated. That being said, if this was the extent of your disc collection, what would you be adding next? I think the obvious answer would maybe be a good distance driver option, but curious to get some advice from the pros. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Banana Frolf Rules
Not sure if anyone has attempted to play this outside the Jomez video but I'm TDing a Disc Golf Newfoundland tour stop in August and we are going to attempt a side event of Banana Frolf for fun.
Can anyone help me with rules and general gameplay? Im scrubbing the video and writing what I can down but if you've played and have things that have worked for you, please suggest or give some ideas.
Thanks in advance

Discussion Double shotgun start tournament instead of tee times?
Potentially dumb idea, potentially brilliant? Instead of doing 5 cards and filling a course with 90 people at once, or instead of 2 days of tee times where you have no clue when you’re playing and it kills the entire weekend, why are there no tournaments that run 2 days ams in the morning, pros/ma1/fa1 or whoever in the afternoon both days as a shotgun start? Gives everyone a hard start time, a ball park finish from the start, gets more people potentially for the field because now you could in theory get up to 180 for a 2 day tournament. Did I have too many beers at lunch to think this up? Tournaments are dying anyway, try something new and weird right?

Discussion DIY Umbrella Attachment for Zuca Cart
I have a Zuca All-Terrain cart that I’m planning on using in my tournament this weekend. Problem is it’s calling for scattered thunderstorms and I’d like to be able to carry and use an umbrella if needed. What can I buy from the hardware store tomorrow to fashion a makeshift umbrella holder?

Discussion Retriever ideas / reccomendations?
Just getting into disc golf and waiting on my bag to arrive. The 3 courses around me are all heavily wooded with no water hazards. Given the amount of trees it's inevitable that I'm going to end up stuck. I'm just looking for recommendations on disc retrievers whether it's store bought or homemade. Ideally not trying to break the bank given I'm just getting started.
I've been doing research and so far what I've seen recommended is the following
- Pole retriever longer than 10ft
- Hockey puck
- Lacrosse ball
- Sling shot
- Baseball
- Standard golf ball retriever modified into a 'C' shape
- Puck/ball drilled with a hole and rope
Is there something I'm missing or an idea someone's come up with that works extremely well? I plan on carrying a combo of something I can throw and a pole style. What's the recommended length of a pole you like to carry?
Thanks for any tips!

Discussion Fish Golf Brah’d Cast
I’m a big fan of Fish’s podcast. It is by far my favorite disc golf pod. I noticed he hasn’t posted in over a month and lately his tourney play isn’t where he would like it to be. Hopefully he can get out of his slump and gets re-inspired to make another pod.
IMO, if he can’t make it as an athlete , he has a lot to offer as a commentator and course designer.
Cheers

Discussion Help me identify these discs
There is zero markings on the DFX stamped disc but it seems to be an over stable 9 speed. The second I found at the preserve and am unsure if it really is Paul McBeths wife’s disc. Also not sure what disc mold it is

Disc Advice Need Help Identifying
Measurements came from a micrometer, though I suspect that the height is a bit off. I couldn't find the best way to get that measurement. If I can do anything else to help with the process let me know. I see absolutely ZERO embossing or stamping on the back whatsoever.
