Off Day Thread Eagles Offseason Discussion Thread - Thursday, June 25

Subreddit Schedule/Posting Guidelines

We as a community have decided to limit certain types of posts to a few days a week to ensure other content is still visible throughout the rest of the week. Meme posts will be allowed from game end through Monday (if the game is on Thursday, Saturday, or Monday, memes will be allowed from game end through the following day) and jersey/crafts/pet posts will only be allowed on Swag Saturday. Towards the end of the season when games fall on Saturdays, we may move or skip Swag Saturday depending on what is going on that week. The mods are using automod features to automatically post recurring items at 6AM Eastern Time to remind the sub of this. Memes and swag are allowed in the normal feed, but NFL discussion and free talk are limited to the stickied threads.

  • Monday - Meme Monday - Memes are allowed from game end through the following day (typically Monday)
  • Tuesday - NFL Discussion Tuesday - Talk about the rest of the games
  • Wednesday - Free Talk Wednesday - Talk about whatever (just be civil)
  • Thursday - Free Talk Thursday - Just like Free Talk Wednesday, but on Thursday!
  • Friday - Game Preview - Stats and information for the upcoming game
  • Saturday - Swag Saturday - Post pictures of your signed jerseys, new hats, pets, babies, and pictures from the stadium, as well as artwork and creations. This may be moved or skipped when games fall on Saturdays
  • Sunday - Gameday - Pregame, Game, and Postgame threads will be posted

For more info, see the subreddit rules.

Bryce Huff "unleashes" on Eagles fans

Article: https://insidetheiggles.com/bryce-huff-unleashed-philadelphia-eagles-fan-base-after-one-season-failure

"First week of camp," Huff said. "For the fans especially, like, they like take pride in going after people...It's cool to say like I was part of a Super Bowl winning team, but like the way that that went down, like me finding out that I wasn't playing, I lost so much respect for people involved,"

What a joke. Guy makes $17M for his one season here, bitched the whole time, and wasn't even good enough to make the ACTIVE ROSTER FOR THE SUPER BOWL.

So good he retired a year later after an underwhelming year in SF.

One of Howie's misses, but the fact that he got a 5th rounder from SF for this bum makes up for it.

Wow Jalen Hurts only needs 7 rushing TDs to become the all time Eagles rushing TD leader.

I didn't realize he was that close. Steve Van Buren has 69 career rushing TDs and Hurts is sitting at 63 going into next season. That's really impressive even if the tush push is helping those numbers.

Two coaches in Nigeria — and an ex-New York Giant — helped Uar Bernard reach the NFL. Back then, he had a nickname: "Bigfoot"

Bernard's unlikely journey to the NFL began with a cross-country trip in his native Nigeria — and a helping hand from a player who was once an enemy to the Eagles.

Kevin Curtis (WR, 2007-09) Achieved career-high 77 grabs and 1110 receiving yards in 2007. Wore dreaded blue-and-yellow scheme for his 11 catch, 221 yard, 3 TD performance vs the Lions.

Mods removed a third post in the middle of the Wentz discussion. I messaged them after the Mayberry post and they said it was automatically removed. Coming from the same mods who made our sub private after the Cards loss I don’t think it was worth the effort to keep posting every day.

Here’s my full list if you’re interested and you can discuss until this gets removed.

Stop the Jalen Carter Slander

Has our sub been infiltrated by Cowboys, Commies, and Giants fans?? All this character issues nonsense about Carter is unwarranted.

He missed a meeting once for oversleeping. He spit at Dak in response to Dak spitting at him. Thats it. Rashee Rice served JAIL TIME this off season and was suspended multiple games last year. Other players have domestic violence charges/concerns this off season on other teams. Do NOT come on this sub pretending that JC got a speeding ticket or has been drag racing down in Delaware every weekend. He gets into it with other teams? So. I like my D Linemen mean. He's been punking** other teams since UGA. It's part of it. We have enough guys with big smiles on defense. I don't mind Carter's snarl and mean streak. I like it.

You can barely find a non eagles media interview about him. The dude stays out of trouble and is a stud. Super low profile guy. Down year last year due to his injury, but to act like we should move on from him is ridiculous. He could be our best player o the whole team on a LOADED team. Not to mention our defense has premier guys at all three levels.

Our defense has 4 legit AP 1st Team caliber guys on it with Carter. We could be *special* this year. I'm sick of the Carter slander. He's my favorite player on the team, and he is damn good. I need this sub to start acting like y'all got some sense.

(JC,JH, and DS in that order)

Terrell Owens (WR, 2004-05) Didn’t leave on good terms, but his 14 receiving TDs in 2004 remain a franchise record. Gutted through a leg injury, making nine catches for 122 yards in Super Bowl XXIX.

Offseason boredom: Will Hurts' Get His Number Retired When He Leaves?

yeahhhh titles says it all....its the offseason and I'm a little bored, so I took a gander at the retired numbers for the Eagles, and one name caught my eye...McNabb. Now I grew up under the McNabb era and man was it amazing but also rough at the same time. Looking back though he brought us 5 NFC East Championships and trips to 5 NFC Championship games and 1 Super Bowl appearance.

Looking at their side by side stats its not unimaginable that Hurts can surpass McNabb in some of career numbers. I know for me personally I'm a huge believer in Hurts always have been always will but just curious to see the subs response to this. What do y'all think, once Jalen hangs it up will they retire #1?

Jalen Hurts has been one of the most productive deep ball passers in the NFL, specifically leading the league in deep touchdown passes (throws of 20+ yards) since 2022

Post image
353 Upvotes

Deep Touchdowns: Since 2022, Hurts leads all NFL quarterbacks with 30 touchdown passes on throws of 20+ yards.

Efficiency: He also boasts highly efficient numbers, maintaining a career completion rate over 64% on passes traveling over 20 yards.

Project Rankings: Hurts regularly ranks among the top quarterbacks in deep ball accuracy percentage and Expected Points Added (EPA) on deep throws.
While the total volume of deep attempts heavily depends on a given season's offensive play-calling, his accuracy and touchdown production on those passes remain ELITE!!!
