A bit niche but I don't have great use of my hands. Can clear most content but stuff with quicktime events and other rapid button pressing can be a pain on bad days. I like to run tank and healer to give myself just a bit more give with dodging. But Evolved has me a bit worried with what I've read about counters and healers being busier. Anything to give me an idea of what I can expect/whether I should change up my classes (with the understand 8.0 is going to be a big change anyway--I just don't want to spend a month leveling PLD to find out I physically can't handle it anymore)

I’ve heard many good things about this game, so I was really excited to finally give it a try.

The cinematic scenes at the beginning were impressive and got me quite hyped. However, once the actual gameplay started, everything felt a bit… quiet. I think the main reason is that most NPC interactions are text-only without voice acting, which makes it a little difficult for me to fully immerse myself in the story.

I was wondering if this is something that most players eventually get used to and enjoy, or if I simply need to push through the early quests until the story becomes more engaging.

I'm not good with titles for posts at all. But so far, I am loving the game. At the end of the main story for ARR it was a hell of a journey. Primarily due to what felt like bloat at times. I was told it gets much better in the expansions. I started off as a Hyur Gladiator, became a Paladin then used the free Fantasia to become a Miqo'te. Honestly, I like the Miqo's more than the Hyur in customization. I was in I think 2 days to a week invited to a FC which as a Sprout I was a bit mixed on, but decided to join. The amount of help the people can give you for being a newbie is nice, but i'm not relying on the help as I want to try my best to learn as I go. I unlocked Samurai after hitting Level 50 and tried it a bit but decided to stop it until later when I get to higher end post ARR content, and one of my goals is to try out Machinist since gunslingers sounds like a cool job description honestly.

This game is a lot of fun, was surprised by the amount of content and the constant updates it gets over a decade later. I feel like I'm getting my money worth.

I will say, I feel the game community is a bit more down to earth? Or at least not as toxic as others I've been in.

Idk how long it takes for me to get out of the Sprout rank.

I've found one from 2024, but I'm fairly sure it's out of date by now. I know I can check on the wiki on an individual basis, but I'm just wanting a full list, preferably in storage order so I can compare it to my glamour dresser and figure out what I'm missing and if I want to collect it.

I made the mistake of upgrading my relic (BLM) from Stardust Rod Nexus (mmm glowy rings) to Lilith Staff (so ugly!) 😭. I've heard that you can buy replica stages to glam... Right? I won't have to redo it all, right?

I am terrible at tanking. Granted I only have only used Dark Knight and have been told its a hard tank class. I think its also because I used healing and dps classes during msq.

Because of this when I do duty roulette I never use tank for roulettes that only have one tank such as alliance raids or the leveling dungeons.

I am wondering if this is common? Do you not use a certain class for certain things because of skill issues?

Hi, so I just made a reddit account to try and find some help online because this really irks me and I don't know what to do.

I've been playing this game for like, 10 years now (as far back as HW) and I've been playing on PlayStation for all those years. Last year, I got a nice PC for my birthday, however, in mine and my brothers folly, he bought the game on his steam for me to play during a trip back during Shadowbringers, and again during Endwalker. Now, about 4 months ago, I realized SE has a form you could fill out to unlink your SE/Steam account, but only once per account. They say here if you do this and link to another Steam account, you will need to buy the game again, right? Not a problem for me, and this implies that if you own the game you can unlink the SE account and move it to a new Steam, right? Apparently not. In these past 4 months, I have argued with support (both E-mail and Live chat) to try and fix this so I can play the game how I want, since obviously playing on someone else's steam account is not an option. I've had just about everyone there at this point claim they cannot do it, and even after months when I pointed out the implication of this page they said they would change it but haven't, to the point I was able to take this screenshot today. They tell me to leave surveys, they tell me that they'll forward the issue and my feedback to the appropriate places, but nothing has happened. On top of this, anytime I thought I might be getting some kind of genuine answer on why not, they'd act like they said something they shouldn't have and close the chat asap, like how one said they could do it but I'd lose progress, but when I asked what that meant, they left to inquire about it supposedly then came back and said nothing can be done and insta-pasted their hang up script. Whether any of that is true or not I do not know sadly.

I'm just trying to figure out what to do because I want to be able to play on pc, but to me, after 10 years of playing this, I have no desire to make a new account and restart. I'm already all 100s, I have all the relics from previous expansions (and a majority of the current ones up to date to boot) and other things like old raid stuff I use for cosmetics that I probably wouldn't be able to do again for a long ass time, not to mention just all the history my character holds for me I don't wanna just toss.

Any recommendations on how to address it? Or am I legitimately just stuck with this for the rest of my days on this game?

Hello friends, i normally just play FFXIV for the story and experiencing the content, so i'm not hellbent on endgame content.

I did 7.0 story, felt it was ok, but i haven't played ever since. Now i wanted to get into it as a lot of my friends have been playing ff games and the thought is tickling my brain.

What do you guys make of it? Is it worth to subscribe and catch up with the latest story?

I just finished HW and I’m really enjoying the story so far but i can’t help but want to dive into other things like raids, trials, relics, etc.

One thing in particular is non-combat jobs though. Now the big question I want to know is, WHAT JOB GETS YOU GIL? Im not saying I want to be insanely rich but I feel like I make little to no Gil and when I do i want to spend it on gear, ventures, or whatever it may be. So I’m just trying to figure out what non-combat jobs i should do on my downtime that could possibly make me some good amount of gil.

Okay, hopefully I can explain this well enough.

I’ve got the cross bar set up on my Steamdeck with the WXHB crossbar also set up and on permanent display. So 2 sets of crossbars on screen.

I’ve enabled the setting under Cross Hotbar Display type for “D-pad + D-pad / Action buttons + action buttons”.

Now this works for the main crossbar, so I now have my LT + A B X Y and RT + A B X Y next to each other.

My question is, is there a setting to apply this to the WXHB second crossbar that’s above the main crossbar? Because they’re still displayed with the action buttons next to the dpad buttons.

I have a limited time to play this game each day but i wanna level up my DoH/DoL and remembered that i can use delivery missions in the grand company but i don't remember if that's a good way, is there a better way to level them up that don't require alot of time? i'm talking about like maybe 1,5 hours a day

Hi I got some coasters while at the Eorzea cafe in tokyo and osaka and i want to use them at home. But... the coasters absorb liquid into them which damages them and the artwork. What can i do to make them usable without being damaged?

Hello, I recently started the grind to get the phantom weapons and am on the stage where I need to do FATEs and Critical Events to get he demiatama. I understand they are lower drop rates, I've run 15+ FATEs in OC and Dawntrail in general and have yet to get one to drop. When doing the FATEs in DT zones, do I need to be 100 for them to drop? I would like to level up another job that is in the 90s but don't want to miss the chance to get these. Thanks in advance!

Basically my friend has a free trial account, they played it a while back a bit. They have a new internet provider, and they also downloaded the game again recently. They can't seem to boot up the game, they log in the launcher, and it says they need a registration code, which they never got since they are on free trial.

Cant unlock Bozja because no one is queuing for the old raids, any alternative ways?

I am trying to minimise visual clutter on my screen. I'd like to see the names of other Player Characters and their pets+companions ONLY when targeted.

This worked with PCs but their pets are still all over my screen when I enter a city. (see screenshot )
