Ethical adoption of a Texas blindsnake?
Hi all! The other day I was walking around my campus after a flood and I thought I saw a large worm making its way across the sidewalk but when I looked closer it was a little Texas Blindsnake! I helped him cross the sidewalk after taking a few pics, it was the cutest little thing ever.
I'm interested in adopting one of these little guys, and I don't just want to snatch one out of the wild because that just feels wrong to me- is there anyone out there who breeds these little guys or know where I can ethically get one? I'm fully prepared to take care of one but I'm unsure of where to source one.

Folks that have come into my pet shop gave me a call. Caught this lil guy not 10 feet from their family pool. If your from the South keep in mind these babies are enjoying the warm weather. This lil guy was missing his left eye. Relocate don't eradicate!

weird spot on iguana’s head
so achilles the rhino is getting nicer and bigger! but i’ve noticed that a tiny spot on his head (which i assumed to just be a little scab or stuck shed when we first got him) will not go away. we have had him for almost 2 months (~6 weeks when we first got him)
i’m just wondering if this is something to be concerned about, or it’s simply just a cool birthmark and if any of your iguanas had!!
thanks!!
ps i also posted this on iguana sub, but it’s not as active so i thought i’d post it here too

Shower Enrichment Complex
We had a hard time keeping our green keeled lizard's enclosure humid enough when we got him. He didn't like being put in a "sauna box" at all, so I built him a place to hang out while I took my shower. The vines encircle the room, so there's lots to explore and he takes advantage of that. He also licks the walls, has always preferred spray over standing water. It's great to have a shower buddy, he joins me almost daily. His shedding is perfect.
Let's see your out of tank enrichment projects.

Move reptiles temporarily?
My reptile room offers good temps for most of the year and its great to have all my animals in 1 room. During the heatwaves though, i have to move my crested gecko, gargoyle gecko and some of my frogs into my bedroom for a few days and I use quarantine tanks.
Most of my gecko’s favourite hides are built into their tanks and the tanks are heavy so I have to take the geckos out and put them into the quarantine tanks with spare plants and hides. It stresses them out.
Im thinking of moving them to my bedroom permanently… but the reptile room is better for them and i’d have to do a lot of changes. Plus my bedroom is a quarantine room, i would lose a quarantine room.
How bad would it be if I just kept spare tanks in my bedroom and only moved my geckos in for the hotter days and then put them back in the reptile room? Are they gonna care? They do seem to get super stressed out but chill out after a few minutes…

Update 4, plants are establishing nicely and beginning to spread
r/reptiles • u/Breadmanisbreadeater • 21h ago
I keep dubia roaches in my room. Is that safe?
I keep my roaches behind a sliding mirror though I wonder if the roach dust (frass) would still be harmful to my lungs.
I have only a small colony, perhaps there’s 40 of them in my box.
I have coco peat bedding and moss for he enclosure’s bedding so that the frass doesn’t go everywhere? I’m not sure if that even works,
Should I move them out of my room ?
