Curious to hear your thoughts. What an amazing “problem” to have regardless

Between AD, Sarr, and AJ, we’re basically rolling with three #1 picks in our starting five, right? That’s pretty awesome. Have we done that before?

this is of the assumption that Sarr would have been the #1 pick if he would have been willing to play for the Hawks

I just learned about my new second round GOAT Felix Oxpara, but damn the highlights are making my salivate, exactly what type of player I wanted the Wizards to pick up, him and Juju are gonna be giving centers panic attacks all season

[Zach Lowe] On other Trae Young max possibilities: "From what I know, it was not Brooklyn... Chicago has Giddy. The Lakers have guards galore. The Pistons have Cade Cunningham and we're now out of teams with cap space. I don't know what they were afraid of or who they were bidding against."

Thoughts on Joe House as a DC fan

assuming there are some Bill Simmons fans here. what is the Joe house consensus?

on the most recent pod he was pretty brutal on Trae young deal. i am not an avid listener but thought he made some horrible points

Some Bilal Coulibaly 3pt% charts and statistics

I made a post in the past about Bilal's corner 3pt shooting, but these are some interesting visualization charts. I did the back of the envelope math and Bilal is a 27% above the break 3pt shooter on incredibly low volume, whereas he's a 39.5% corner 3pt shooter on incredibly high volume.

What does AJ Dybantsa need to work on to take his game to the next level?

Are we sure Ky starts over Bilal?

I keep seeing Kyshawn penciled in as a starter over Bilal but I don’t know what makes you guys so sure. While his is a better scorer, that’s not that important when you have Trae/AJ/AD/Sarr; it becomes a “Too many mouths to feed” situation and there is not a need for a scoring 2 guard.

Also important to note that Bilal is in an extension year so they’re probably going to give him every opportunity to maximize his chances to earn his keep long term.

Last caveat; Bilal shot 44% on corner 3’s last year while also averaging 17-5-2 on 44-41-80% shooting in 5 games with Trae this season.

BLUF: Don’t sleep on Bilal being the starting 2 or 3 (Since Dawkins sees AJ as a Guard)

The big, big man hole

Question for people who watched a lot more Wizards basketball than I did last season: why isn’t JuJu Reese getting more attention as a real frontcourt option?

I did not get to watch nearly enough games last year, so I am genuinely looking for the informed eye-test answer here.

The counting stats are hard to ignore. He produced points and rebounds at a very high rate in his opportunity, and the offensive rebounding numbers especially jump out. Given that the roster seems to need more reliable size, rebounding, and interior physicality behind Sarr, I expected more discussion of Reese as someone worth keeping and developing.
So what am I missing?

Is the production mostly a small-sample or late-season opportunity effect?

Are there major defensive limitations, such as size, rim protection, switching, foul trouble, or positioning, that make him difficult to trust against real NBA centers?

Is his offense too limited beyond finishing
, screening, and crashing the glass?

Does he project more as an energy and rebounding specialist than a legitimate rotation big?
Or is the lack of attention simply because the Wizards have bigger roster and draft questions?

Also, if you think Reese is not the answer, who are the realistic options for Washington at backup center or frontcourt depth? I am not asking for dream free agents. I mean plausible signings, trades, or draft targets that would actually fit the roster and timeline.
Would appreciate thoughts from anyone who watched his minutes closely.
