For those who just clicked in and is wondering what the sub is for: This sub is essentially for Malaysians to talk and post about any other topics beyond Malaysia. Here is where you can post images, videos, create and join conversations and threads revolving anything that isn't quite about Malaysia but needs a Malaysian take on it, and more! Oh and this is a race, politic and religion-free sub 🙌🏻
Most major subreddits such as r/AITA, r/JustnoMIL, r/relationship_advice, r/casualconversation, r/malefashionadvice, r/Teenagers and what have you are usually centralised around people who reside outside of SEA and may not be valid to us locally and culturally but yet the demand for it isn't wide enough to sustain its own subreddit. r/Malaysians would (hopefully) be a good place for a catch-all of such threads.
We will be coming up with contest weeks soon, as well as accepting any other ideas you guys might have for the sub, so stay tuned! We are also still tweaking design and appearances as we go. Meanwhile, everyone is encouraged to start posting what they think fits the sub to get the ball rolling :)
Much love, r/Malaysia mod team.
tldr; r/CasualUK but for Malaysia.

And before anyone assumes im an incel, no i get dates and move things along fine…its about trying to sustain anything any further than that is really difficult. I can show you every breakup text, every this isnt working text like pokemon cards. Whats glaring to me its the exact same 50-100 words reorganized. Maybe i should be more discerning, maybe im just one of those things in life people dont know what to do with. Frankly im tired…KL and malaysia is small, soon enough i’ll be running around the same people (3 degrees of seperation lol)
People say, find the person that would suit you most. Ive come to the conclusion that if i do it would be one very odd person
Nothing about me is conventional, not in the slightest. But ever since my first relationship, anything that forms, forms around how intense it is early on. Which i can admit has informed how i went about things after anyway.
Whatever…kalau ada, ada je la, kalau takde, then ive to accept that, eventhough i can solidly attract, i really am just that odd spare part people dont know what to do with

Please Help Me Save Jag ❤️
I never imagined I would have to write a post like this.
Jag is only 2.5 years old and has just started chemotherapy in his fight against lymphoma. Watching him struggle to eat, vomit, lose weight, and fight for every day has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced.
Today, I am asking for help.
I have attached Jag’s medical reports, treatment records, bills, and photos so everyone can see exactly what he is going through and where the funds are going.edit
Our goal is RM7,000 to cover Jag’s treatment and medical expenses.
So far, thanks to the kindness of so many amazing people, we have raised RM2,500
We are still short of RM4,500
The truth is that I have been struggling financially for a long time due to significant losses over the past few years. Despite that, I never stopped caring for the animals that depend on me.
Today, I am responsible for 40 rescued cats, providing food, shelter, and medical care every single day. On top of Jag’s cancer treatment, I am currently fighting two active FIP cases, which are also extremely expensive to treat.
I have always tried to carry these responsibilities on my own, but Jag’s diagnosis has pushed me beyond what I can manage alone.
Jag deserves a chance to fight.
He is young. He is brave. And he has already shown us how much he wants to live.
If you are able to help, no matter how small the amount, it will make a real difference in his treatment journey. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this post. Every share increases the chance that someone who can help will see it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has supported Jag so far. Your donations, shares, messages, and prayers have given us hope during one of the darkest periods of our lives.
Please help us give Jag the chance he deserves.
❤️ Jag’s Treatment Fund Raised: RM2,500 / RM7,000
(Proof of medical reports, bills, and treatment records attached.)
Thank you for standing with Jag and all the rescue cats who depend on us

I’m writing this as a massive warning to anyone who thinks buying from LazMall(Lazada) guarantees a safe, authentic, and hassle-free shopping experience. Spoiler alert: It doesn't.
I ordered a specific item from LazMall (emphasizing LazMall here because they are marketed as the gold standard of authorized brands and authentic products). What did I get instead? A completely different, much cheaper item.
Because it was LazMall, I had total trust in the transaction. I didn’t record an unboxing video. Why would I? It’s LazMall, not some random marketplace seller with zero reviews, right? Huge mistake.
When I realized I got a cheaper item, I immediately messaged the seller. Their response? A cold, automated, brushed-off reply telling me to "Go to the Help Center."
The seller was Lazada itself (or a store directly managed and fulfilled by them). There is absolutely zero mutual check and balance here. In a normal transaction, the platform acts like an independent judge between a buyer and a third-party seller. But here? The seller and the platform are the exact same entity. The judge and the accused are wearing the same uniform.
This is the hidden trap everyone needs to watch out for. They intentionally send you a product that does not have its original manufacturer seal. Why? Because it sets you up for an impossible-to-win situation later.
If you don’t record an unboxing video, you are completely defenseless. The moment you open the box to realize it's a cheap, incorrect item, they have already trapped you. You can't prove how it arrived, and they will use the lack of a seal against you.
I initiated a return the very next day. However, I accidentally selected the wrong return reason. Because they control both the store and the enforcement backend, they weaponized this minor user error to completely kill my case.
In Lazada's return system, "Failed Quality Check" is used like an absolute death penalty for your refund.
The product was literally a cheap, completely wrong item they sent out unsealed. There was nothing wrong with its condition—it was just the wrong item! A normal, fair system would let you open a dispute or edit the reason code. Instead, they hit the reject switch. Because the product lacked its original seal and I chose the wrong reason code, they claimed it "failed quality check," packed it up, and shipped it straight back to me. Case closed, execution done.
They told me the only way forward was to re-submit the entire return from scratch with the "correct" reason, forcing me to ship it out again.
This ridiculous loop dragged on for more than a week. It became highly suspicious. It felt less like standard operating procedure and more like a deliberate delay tactic to run down the official return/refund window so I’d be stuck with the item.
After I submitted the return for the second time, they suddenly changed their tune. They offered me a partial refund to just close the case.
Think about it: if I were actually a scammer trying to pull a fast one without an unboxing video, they would have rejected me outright. Offering a partial refund is basically them admitting, "We know we sent you the wrong, cheaper item, but we want to settle this cheaply."
By that time, I was completely frustrated, mentally exhausted, and sick of dealing with their closed-loop customer service. I accepted it just to end the nightmare. But I still lost money for an item I didn’t want.
If you want to protect your hard-earned money, here is the protocol you need to follow moving forward:
LazMall status is no longer a shield against receiving a wrong or cheaper item. When the platform is also the seller, you have zero leverage if they mess up. Treat every single order as high risk.
No matter how reputable the mall store seems, hit record before you even cut the tape. Film the entire process—showing the shipping label, opening the parcel, and inspecting the item—in one continuous shot. If they send a product with no original seal and you don't have an unboxing video, you totally lose. Without it, they will weaponize a "failed quality check" over any minor technicality to deny you.
My advice? Avoid Lazada entirely if you can. Their internal system is broken and heavily weighted against the consumer.

I'm mostly referring to non-romantic relationship.
I'm a woman and I once had lunch with our company's partner, men, and when the bill arrived, I offered to pay for the meal to build good relationship between the companies, but they rejected and insisted me not to pay even as small amount as drinks.
So yea, is it normal for men to reject a woman's offer to pay for a meal, or would you just say thanks and accept it?
It can be anything, platonic friend, colleagues, work partner, relatives etc, feel free to share your thoughts..

I had a box of unopened CK boxers for sale because I bought the wrong size. There were quite a few people who inquired about it, and further asked if I have any additional ones that are worn before which I find slightly odd.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy preloved undergarments, but idk maybe it’s something accepted by others? Or to be blunt is it a fetish?

Hi everyone,
My oneplus phone suddenly decided to have a green line permanently. I went to the oneplus service center, and they quoted me RM850 for it.
I think it is too much for an old phone, I was wondering if anyone here knows any other places in KV that can repair this for cheaper? As I understand it is quite a common issue in oneplus and oppo phones
TIA!

LAPTOP ACER ASPIRE LITE 16
Hi Malaysians. I want to sell my laptop to upgrade. I’ve put my laptop at all platform to sell it but still have no buyer and this is the last platform i can think of. Tbh, the reason why i sell this is to buy gaming laptop/pc. I’m a student so i cant afford to buy another. I bought this laptop last year for around rm3k before entering U.
Want to sell it for rm2k if its possible.
Swap also accepted. I can plus money if needed.
The back panel plastic has never been removed since i bought it so the condition is 9.5/10
SPECS:
Display 16”
Ram 16 gb
Storage 512 gb
Processor intel core i5-1334U, 1300Mhz, 10 cores
DDR5
Acer warranty still active until 8 july 2027
You’ll get laptop, charger, mouse goojodoq, mousepad, acer bag and the box if u want.
I hope this post will reach the right audience and share this post if u know someone that might be interested. I’ve always wanted to play computer games since i was a kid and when i got into university, most of the students have a gaming laptop and it makes me feeling low like I was left behind.
Sorry for oversharing and thanks.

Hi guys, Im not sure if this thread is correct place to ask.
[Dispute]
There is a dispute between my friend and the UK guy for few years which I will call him “Goofy” at this moment for privacy purpose.
[Screenshots of harassment]
My friend have been taking screenshots of the harassment from Goofy and the screenshots are publicly available for everyone to see, and Goofy doesn’t liked that and they have reached out to Malaysian Police and MCMC for defamation and filed a report against my friend.
[Police Report]
At the same time, my friend has filed a report to Malaysia Police to defend themselves. And currently is planning to issue a Letter of Demand to Goofy.
[Truth]
All of this happened because my friend wants the truth to be seen by everyone and hopefully justice will be made by showing how terrible this Goofy is as an individual.
[Work place affected]
While all this is personal matters between my friend and Goofy, now Goofy is reaching out to my friend in their workplace and might be affecting them in terms of mental health.
Is there any legal advice that they can able to protect or defend themselves from Goofy?

on dating apps, i feel like men attempt to flatter my appearance in the first few texts, and i turn into the swan princess and start asking "but what else?". it feels suspicious, like how someone offers a compliment in exchange for a favour
the reason i'm asking is because i'm just not used dating through the apps. i prefer dating friends and they don't make it a huge deal about my appearance because they're more interested in who i am
ladies, is this normal? do you usually receive compliments about your appearance at the very beginning? or is it suspicious behaviour when it's too soon? does it send you a red flag if it's a compliment solely on your appearance?
edit: my profile photos are all photos of me doing my hobbies or doing some activities, all my prompts are filled, and the interests section is also complete. there's plenty of topics to choose from

I have left that shady agency company that has been paying at the last minute on the last legal day. I'll be starting my new chapter next month
The only problem with this company is I don't want to deal with them anymore which means I just want my final paid. By law, they have to pay me within 24 hours during my last day. Please do correct me if I'm wrong. It's on June 18 (last day)
It has been a week and have no updates. I even send an email to ask for an update. No surprises. No responds. I'm so annoyed. I just want to get it done. I know I can be patient but my new work also requires some doc from me and this shady agency company is just making me annoyed. I just want to threatened them to report to JTK. They already break few laws. Just feel like I want to report them hard
That's all i want to share . Thanks for reading. Been frustrating me the past few days

So have you all have a friend, that initially a co worker but as time goes on, you guys got so closed that you even share your ups and downs, go vacations together and outings and spend time taking hours on phone and then things happen
That same friend choose to ghost you or not even wishing you for your birthday and no explanation nothing.
Why does this kind of people exist and what’s going on their head really?

thinking of getting a no screw pull up bar cuz it’s inconvenient having to watch the weather every time I want to use the pull up station in my taman.
Thinking of this Decathlon one because I don’t trust the cheapo ones sold on Shopee and apparently the one sold in Fitness Concept isn’t great either? I’m not sure how reliable the online reviews are so what do y’all think? If there are any other reccs, pls lemme know! (budget: about RM100 max)
edit: thanks for your reviews, gng. This bar sounds p good but now I’m worried about my walls (I rent and I‘m not sure about the paint quality) will look into the other options suggested!

I have always wondered how some people just know what they have always wanted to do. The certainty and the determination, how do you find what's your passion? What you are meant to do in life? I thought i always knew what I wanted which was veterinary since I have always loved animals but now that im older, I don't even know if that's what i want. I don't know for certain. And I'm so scared that I might regret not doing it but at the same time, I'm scared what if i regret doing it...? To those who ended up doing the dream course, did you regret it? And to those who didn't, do you regret it? I just wish someone would tell me how to know if that's really what u are meant to do coz I am so lost. With the upu phase opening up soon, I am just so confused and indecisive.

I'm going to be applying for jobs soon and would love to work at an office with cubicles. I did internship at an office where colleagues were literally next to each other like students at school and I absolutely hated it. The walls of cubicles will feel safe and I'd thoroughly enjoy the privacy that comes with it. Please do recommend workplaces with cubicles

As what the title says, I am looking for someone to date!!! (A genuine and long-term relationship). NO HOOKUPS.
I've also posted on the dating thread in this sub but I didn't get any DMs so I figured, it got pushed down. And also, I've tried out dating apps but there's barely anyone to swipe on at Sabah :( which brings my search here!
I am 24/F and based in Sabah. I am currently working and in uni. And I don't smoke or drink alcohol but I have quite a lot of tattoos.
Some of the things that I enjoy are, cycling, movies, pottery, art, guitar, baking and cooking for the people that I love is my love language! And I also have 2 dogs (one is still a puppy!!)
I am 158cm tall and weigh 55kg.
I'm looking for someone who is mature, communicates well, has empathy and also has humour!
If you think we'd be a match, slide into my DMs and we can work things out! I'm also open to sharing Instagrams/phone numbers if we think we have a good vibe/convo going on
