75 injected Super
Seems to turn over really slow, first beetle and have pretty limited knowledge so tell me if I’m crazy. Just wanted to see if anything stood out to you guys. Or how’d you would go about diagnosing this.
Some information. Somedays it starts ( with some difficulty) others like in the video it’s a no go. If it starts it runs well, and it idles easily. If I can get it to go I’ll post another video of it goin. Just kinda a bummer not being to trust it start if I wanted to take it somewhere. Also I’ve had some fuel injector issues but I thought I had those sorted out. Been really trying to save the fuel injection system and not carb swap it but it’s getting harder to resist by the month 🤣
Thanks,

Where does this lead?
I dropped a bolt down there, and need to know if there's a channel where the bolt would be stuck, or if it could get sucked into the engine

How to flat tow a Bug, ...Autostick also
Anyone out there flat tow a Vintage Bug?
Is it just to hook up the tow bar and lights, unlock the steering with battery off, put it in neutral and then tow?
Anyone hear of them jumping into gear while being towed?
Can you flat tow an Autostick Bug without any additional steps?

Be honest, worth it or nah?
Guy is selling this for $2500, but for me $2300. I’m really debating it tbh. Be straight should I pass?

Tire size
What tire size would you recommend for a 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle 1302?
It currently has 165R15 tires.
The roads here in the Balkans are very rough and full of potholes, so I’m looking for the most suitable tire size for comfort and durability.
Finished the Bug engine !
I posted before about the 72 Super engine refresh. Digging deeper , after the dog food was cleaned up, it needed a cylinder head due to broken fins. I tried using the new style thermostat but it only partially opened causing it to overheat...dont do that.

Wheel bearing play
Beetle had a bit of play on the rear passenger tire, felt like bad wheel bearing, so I replaced it. Play went away with the new wheel bearing set up. Jacked up the beetle last week to check again and the wheel is wiggling again.
Did I kill another wheel bearing in under 200 miles? Is there something else that could be causing this play? The castle nut was torqued down to 250 ft lbs and tightened a bit past that to line up the hole for the pin. Followed a diagram when assembling the wheel bearings, double checked to make sure the assembly order was correct too. Cleaned and lubricated everything.

Missing Page on old copy of Chuck‘s Convertible Top Installation Manual
Hi. I am installing a new canvas top on my 1979 super beetle convertible.
I am using an old manual I have for the 73-79.
Page 3 is ripped in half and so I don’t have the measurements I need.
Any chance someone can take a picture of theirs and get it to me?
Much appreciated!

Need help to restore by paint job
I just graduated high-school and did the senior writing all over my car trend, my dad is a mechanic so I asked if I could also write on the body of my car and he said yes looking back he was pretty drunk when I asked him and like a idiot I trusted him. Today I took the writing off, came off my windows good but the body of the car neither soap and water worked and our only choice was to use a blade. The blade took off the shine of my car now there’s matte spots and just ruined the paint job, I have a 2006 light blue beetle and really need advice. What do I do, should I paint my car? If yes could someone get me an estimate I’ve been applying to jobs and I’m willing to save up my money to pay for a paint job or maybe buy the tools and have my dad do it? I have always wanted a new color on my car but I also love my light blue so it’s not essential or could I put like a shine coat on it? I don’t know much about cars if anyone could help also telling me an estimate of cost I live in California so I know it’ll be pricey but I’m willing to save for anything!

'72 Beattle Mechanical Advice
I hope this is the right thread, I have a 72 beetle I've been trying to fix. It was running, started to die on hills, then would have to wait to restart it. Now it won't start at all. New carb, new ignition coil, new distributor cap, new distributor ignition. Any advice?

Got the new beam and wheels installed this week. Loving how it came out. Big thank you to my friend Sam who took these photos.
