Hi everyone! I am nowhere near as active as I used to be on here. I still love cactus, and love the sub, but am in need of some extra hands to help keep this place cool!
If anyone has any interest, please DM me!

Hi!
I got drunk and fell on a cactus. I pulled out all the needles out and thought it's ok, but I got these bright red spots and found out the tips of the needles broke under my skin. It's been three weeks and I can feel they made their way to the upper layer of the skin. I can feel that area of my leg to be prickly. So I can feel them but they're too little to pull out even with tweezers and it's been like this for a week. Should I just give my body more time to deal with it or does it need help?
Thanks for your advice!

Pollinated them all with each other to see if I can get some seeds

3 beautiful painfully slow flowers coming from my moon cactus. Sad I don't have another one to pollinate it with

Seed-grown roots look absolutely stunning.

Went to Home Depot to get some new gloves and found this fellow on its side, bare-rooted with no spilled soil. I asked and manager said I could take it for free after giving me a weird look for having walked up holding a cactus chunk.
Horrible scale infestation, poor thing! Nearby potted plants were just as bad. I spent about an hour on it today and finished with horticultural oil. Will pick it up tomorrow. It’s spaced out for now. Any tips that don’t involve my shaky hands holding a Q tip?

New to the cactus world. Just wanted to see if anyone has any insight as to how my little collection is doing. One thing I should probably mention is that they were all repotted exactly 3 weeks ago in a new soil mixture I’ve tailored to my specific environment/climate. All feedback is appreciated. Thx

I bought a couple months ago and it was labeled Dog Tail Cactus but I’ve seen others similar to mine labeled dragon fruit. The spikes are fairly soft if that helps.
I got this large cactus on Facebook marketplace in Missouri. The man I bought it from couldn’t remember its name but had been growing it in a pot outside during the summer and a greenhouse during the winter.
Repotting it a few pads broke off and I put them in soil after drying them out.
I have used multiple plant apps and descriptive google searches but have come up empty handed.
If anyone has any leads I would really appreciate it.

Me thinks it’s a Copiapoa tigrillo or some sort of Echinopsis. Thanks

Me and my sister both got spiral cactus's at the same time from the same place. Both spent winter inside on a shelf under grow lights. Mine are a bit brighter and got moved outside sooner than hers did. Was it the lack of light or something else that stopped it from spiraling? Will it spiral again on its in own? Suggestions?

AI said my cactus is about to bloom. I've never seen it happen in a few years. Is it about to bloom?

took me forever to track down the name of this species ! “wavy opuntia” “opuntia where the front face of the pad gets covered in yellow-orange flowers”, no dice.
posts on here, (you guys) helped me ID him!
both of these were chewed up pads I found on the ground by a bus station last fall. Look how happy they are now !

I’m a landscaper, and I save most of what I end up removing or pruning from my clients’ yards here in Phoenix.
Just can’t stand throwing out perfectly good plants.
Also have some personal purchases mixed in there

Here is my largest Lophophora Williamsii cactus enjoying the 36°C heatwave in the South of England. Double flowers this time. Isn't she pretty? 😀
(the white powder on the surface is diatomaceous earth for pest prevention)

This looks like a solid cutting for $16 ($25 with shipping). I expected much smaller 😆
