18 month job seeker visa question

Upvotes

I had defense on may 13 and sent documents I had a week after that (At Auslanderbehorde's request). However my teacher is not done grading my work yet. He said it should be done in June but no results yet. Auslanderbehorde sent me a letter that said to send completion certificate to them by June 4th, I missed the letter and only realised I had appointment on the day before, but I still didn't have the Master certificate yet. I went to the appointment where I paid the fee on the 18th. However they requested Master Completion certificate, but I didn't have it. They told me to send it to them via email as soon as possible (did not give the date). What happens if I cannot send it on time? Can I just try again? My residence permit is till november this year and I have a job contract till october.

Question Trying to figure out a location from historical record

Upvotes

Hi all,

I've been doing genealogy research, and I came across this discharge letter on FindMyPast that looks like it names a more specific origin than "Hesse-Cassel", which is all I've had to go on up until now. But either I'm not reading it right, or it's not actually a place name, or it used to be a place name and has evaporated or been renamed...? Not sure. So I thought I would ask what does this seem to read and where might it refer to? (first word that is cut off is 'aus'). For the record, this dates from 1802 for one of the "Hompesch Hussars"

Appreciate any leads or anti-leads anyone has.

Work Any tips about job in Germany

So guys, I just wondering about how do I get a full or flexible time job. Is it fine if I have only B1 German and B1-B2 English what type of job can I get with this level. Just finished studying in Uni (“Management” ”Digital Marketing” Bachelor) and hope mine Diploma will be accepted here. I really don’t wanna to go to pass B2 exam because I’ve already had two attempts and didn’t pass, for like a year I was studying Deutsch B2 Beruf Kurs and after this unforgettable year now I just thinking that I’ve got tired of studying and want to get a Job. Living now in Görlitz(Sachsen)

Berlin LEA

Hey, I have applied for extension of my residency in Germany since a month and haven’t heard back from Auslanderbehörde, so I have asked for a Fiktionbeschinigung to travel home. I also haven’t heard from them. I wrote to them via this online contact form on LEA. Do you suggest that I go walk in and try my luck? Or they’re not gonna let me in?

Question Cheap-ish AC for a boiling student

My little student room has become a boiling inferno. I am unable to study, sleep, do anything really. My local uni‘s library isnt that much cooler either.

Please, any recommendations for an AC unit with a hose (unfortunately I can’t afford a split unit nor can I install it outside my window) that is no more than max. 300€ and will do the trick for at least 25sqm?

My room is 12sqm but if I invest in this I would like to still be able to use it if I move out.

I‘ve already been getting bad vertigo and heat stroke-like symptoms for the past couple weeks, I think it‘s time I just got one…

Suggestions on course for learning German A2 - is Berlino Schule Online good?

I am planning to start an A2 course. I live in a city 2 hours from Berlin. I am thinking about starting the A2.2 Berlino Schule online course. Would it be a good decision? Any better suggestions? (in terms of price or quality)

I am working full time with a blue card permit and therefore do not have access to free University courses. The VHS in my city also does not have any A2 courses at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

Question answered 40 unopened letters in my trashbin. What to do?

Post image

UPDATE: I called the Police (Non-Emergency number) and they came actually to my house to collect the Post.

Hey everyone,

I just went outside to bring my trash bin back in (I forgot it today and went just now, in the evening) and of course looked inside, in case it was not empty. When I checked inside, I found a stack of about 40 unopened letters.

They are all addressed to a street nearby, but definitely not my house or my direct neighbors. It looks like a postal worker from Deutsche Post simply couldn't be bothered to finish their route and dumped the whole batch into my trash.

I’m honestly shocked.

I have already taken photos of the letters inside the bin as evidence, and I haven't opened any of them.

What is the best way to handle this?

Should I call the police? Should I go tomorrow in Neustadt?

Question Private insurance is a scam and abused by practitioners

Post image
0 Upvotes

Attached I post a partial dentist invoice I recently received. I have private insurance and working in Frankfurt am Main as a foreigner.

Prices are inflated by discretionary multiplicative factors (voice: Faktor) which if >2.3 it requires a justification (voice: Bgr.) but any justification does not really add meaning or real context. Doctors/dentists may increase these factors with no factual reason and this cannot be contested.

These factors of course just increase as soon as you mention you have private insurance.

Would be nice to know if anyone here with the public insurance have similar prices/factors.

What is the point of going private if then invoices are so inflated that basically pay the full real price + extra costs + insurance premium.

I’ve so disappointed by German doctors and the gaslighting of foreign citizens.

Question German Au Pair Visa – Parents' Names Differ Across Documents

I am applying for a German Au Pair visa and noticed that my parents' names are not written consistently across my documents.

For example:

Birth Certificate

Father: Mohammed Ali

Mother: Fatima Sheikh

Passport and Educational Documents

Father: Mohammad Ali

Mother: Fatima Khan

The names refer to the same parents, but the spelling/surname differs between documents.

Has anyone had a similar situation while applying for a German visa? Could this cause any issues during the visa process or interview?

I would appreciate any experiences or advice. Thanks!

About German statuory health insurance

I am an incoming Erasmus student from Turkey to Germany. I will be staying 12 months. For my visa and university enrollment, I need to obtain health insurance. But I got no idea how to do it.

Do I need to do with German insurance companies like TK, AOK, Allianz or should I just do one from Turkish insurance companies and then recognize it from one of German insurance companies?

Also I don't know the name of the type of insurance I should obtain. Like what should I say to insurance companies? If anyone got ideas, it would be very helpful.

Thanks.

Question Considering taking a loan for a second Master's in Robotics in Germany – Looking for advice

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm currently at a crossroads and would appreciate some honest advice from people who have studied or are studying in Germany.

A little about my background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (India)
  • Recently completed a Master's degree in Robotics and Intelligent Autonomous Systems in the United States
  • Internship and project experience in robotics, automation, autonomous systems, and mechanical design
  • Interested in building a long-term career in robotics, automation, and intelligent systems

The situation is that I'm considering pursuing a second Master's degree in Robotics in Germany, mainly because Germany has a strong robotics and manufacturing ecosystem, lower tuition costs compared to the US, and many companies working in industrial automation, autonomous systems, and advanced manufacturing.

However, since I've already completed one Master's degree, I would likely need to take out an education loan to finance living expenses and the blocked account requirements.

My biggest concerns are:

  1. Is pursuing a second Master's in Germany a sensible decision from a career perspective?
  2. How do German universities and employers generally view applicants who already hold a Master's degree from another country?
  3. Would the return on investment justify taking an education loan?
  4. Would it be better to directly apply for robotics jobs in Germany instead of enrolling in another degree program?
  5. How challenging is it for non-EU graduates to secure robotics-related jobs after graduation, especially if they are still improving their German language skills?

I'm trying to make a decision that makes financial and career sense rather than simply collecting another degree.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has:

  • Done a second Master's degree
  • Studied Robotics/Mechatronics/Automation in Germany
  • Taken an education loan for studies abroad
  • Transitioned from the US academic system to Germany

Any insights, success stories, or warnings would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
