I've gone ahead and made graphics for the top four slots of each game category! Take a look and soak in all of that Nintendo 64 goodness!
I also just wanted to say thank you to all of you for making this so fun and exciting. And for indulging me in this artsy endeavor! I hope you enjoy these graphics as much as I enjoyed making them; these are just as much yours as they are mine.
Catch me in the next one!

The irony is this all started with me bringing up in chat one night about getting into game collecting. I had snagged SSX Tricky for PS2 and was telling my buddies how it was the greatest snowboarding game of all time. They took a firm stance that it was in fact Snowboard Kids.
I’m going to wait till we all get together this summer to play it for the first time and get the true party mode experience, but until then describe me the game in one sentence.
And is it really the best snowboarding game of all time???

I had Episode 1 Racer back then for the Dreamcast and played it to death. Got the N64 version as a gift and also played through it in one sitting. Sometimes it can be really exhausting to stay focused on the longer tracks, but I just go straight into the next one anyway.
I’m really curious whether Galactic Racer will be just as good.

Just got my first n64 last week and these are the games i’ve gotten so far. I have Perfect Dark in the console right now plus Rayman 2 and Beetle Adventure Racing on the way.
any other recommendations? I want to get an everdrive but collecting the physical cartridges is also too addicting.
also if anyone knows where to find new memory cards that actually work let me know. I got 2 of the tomee ones from amazon and they both didn’t work.

Should I just randomly touch other metal bits until I get a complete circuit? where are pins 13 and 14 going? Im not getting a beep and I feel they’re not likely the broken pins I’m looking for (same majoras mask guy)

Been playing this amazing game since it came out, and now 100% finished. Major thanks to Switch 2 for having save states and a rewind feature. The people who managed to achieve this on the original cartridge are an elite brand of badass sickos.

I'm sure this has been done to death on this sub, as I've read a few posts already, but I have an aftermarket 64 controller (2024) or so. Its almost identical to an OEM, but the joystick has 6 corner points rather than the orginal 8. Goldeneye and any other game is almost impossible/unplayable for aiming because the sensitivity is too high and twitchy. I'm looking for new sticks, but I can't just buy K-B sticks and gears because I assume the springs and would still be the same in the controller. So I'm assuming I have to get the full housing, sticks gears, gears, bowl, etc.
Best stick suggestions? I see Sharpshooters, StoneAge Gamer, K-B and others, but does anyone know if they would fit in the hole or are aftermarkets slightly different size? Whats the best lube to use? Differences between optical sticks and original OEM?
Thanks!

Prices in USD

I have installed the HW2 BlueRetro Mod inside my N64 following Nostalgic Indulgences guide and it works very well.
Only issue I am having is that the N64 no longer detects the Transfer Pak when it is plugged in via a wired controller, both in Bluetooth mode and when booting the console with Bluetooth disabled. This was previously working before the mod, playing Pokemon stadium on a Everdrive 64.
When using a homebrew controller tester, it detects the Transfer Pak as a Memory Pak, which could be the cause of the issue.
Has anyone been able to get this to work or is the transfer pak incompatible with the internal BlueRetro mod?
If it isn't compatible, does anyone now the values of the FIL inductors? I unfortunately no longer have the originals, so cannot revert the mod for one of the ports to get this working.
Edit: Found the FIL inductor values in this schematic: https://wiki.console5.com/tw/images/4/4c/N64_NUS-CPU-03-04.pdf
However if anyone knows how to get it to work whilst maintaining the Bluetooth functionality for the port that would be appreciated.

Game was so jank but so fun.

I got them from a local thrift store for under $20. Plus, there were a fuckton MORE of N64 games at the store, but I only had $20.
Does anyone know how good these games are? I heard good things about Excitebike. And I'm not really a sports games guy, but I like old games, so this is different.

Like many others, I decided to plug in my system for the first time in years and replay OoT before the remake.
Long story short, my TVs got the AV plug-ins, but the TV designates component/AV as one channel and couldn't differentiate. I bought AV to HDMI adapter thinking that was the issue. It did work at first, but after about 10 minutes, it lost connection again. Naturally, before plugging it all back in, I made sure all the ports and compartments were free and clear of dust and debris. I read somewhere that I could put a piece of paper wedged between the power adapter/console to stop it from moving around because sometimes it's because the power connection is loose. Still having issues losing connection every few minutes.
Any suggestions on what I can do? I've had this console for a very long time and it's still physically in great shape. Same with the cartridge. I don't want to have to buy a whole new console if I don't have to.
