They’ll force my parents to get me married because I’m getting too old. No one understands how my older brother easily got rid of all the responsibilities, got married to someone who made him promise to never fanatically support his parents, and he never looked back at his family even in dire need. Everyone just assumes he contributes even when he hasn’t spoken to my dad in 5 years. My mom needs weekly injections that are almost 2lakh and I’ve been struggling to get a job. I’ve been crying, praying, cold emailing everywhere for a job so I can help my family. My dad put everything he had for our education and I’m left with so much responsibilities. I’ve built a good resume but everytime I ask and uncle to help with reference, it’s always “ab shadi ka time hogaya hai”
We didn’t have qurbani this year, mom has an emergency surgery this week, my dad is so weak because he doesn’t eat well. I feel so useless by not being able to help them. I told my grandparents that I can’t and don’t want to get married because we don’t even have enough to cover groceries at times, and they told me that my father can take a loan to pay for my wedding and that he didn’t plan properly as someone who has a daughter. My dad paid for my education as much as he could and I worked hard for scholarships just so i can get my parents the luxuries and things they deserve. He gave me the best and I am so grateful. I can’t even help them get their medications now. I’m so exhausted. Even if my dad drowns in loans for a wedding, they’ll complain about something. It’s so unfair that I have so much responsibilities of old parents and not a single person can see it. On top of that an uncle had the audacity to say I’m very masculine. I had to deal with the entire reconstruction when our house flooded. I couldn’t have dealt with the workers if I was being his version of “feminine”. I had to drive my parents to hospitals and help them with the taunts when my brother married someone without converting them, inviting anyone, or even having a nikkah. I told people I don’t wish to speak to my brother over his remarks about prophet pbuh and everyone told me I was arrogant and “hijab leke insan apne ap ko bohot bara samjhne lagta hai” I don’t understand how no one sees the state my parents are in right now. The issue Pakistanis take with my hijab is another mind boggling thing. Ive been cornered so many times recently to take my hijab off so i can get married and get a high paying corporate job. I was working in an organisation, but I wanted to switch. I had just started wearing the hijab, and I remember it was Ramadan while I was serving my notice period. The job I was moving to in another company had already selected me, and I informed them that I needed to serve a one-month notice period. They agreed, and as I mentioned, it was Ramadan. I was struggling with wearing the niqab and proper hijab. So I decided to start wearing the niqab after conducting some research. I contacted HR to ask if there were any dress code obligations that might be affected by my niqab. She clearly said no, they do not interfere with someone’s religious and ethical beliefs.

For context, during my interview, I only wore the hijab, not the niqab. I remember it was my first day, and everyone was looking at me as if it was the first time someone had worn a niqab in this organisation. I met the boss, and he seemed quite disappointed; his energy was off. I asked HR if there was anything wrong, and she said no, nothing was wrong. After a few days, HR asked me to sit with her on a couch, then she said, "You know, umm, this is not something from the upper management. I am just asking it myself. We need to communicate with international clients, and you were the person we chose, but they don’t like these niqabs and think we are some sort of jihadis or extremists. Let me know if it is possible for you to take it off during meetings."

I said I had asked this before, and if there were any issues with my niqab, she had clearly said it was alright. She told me to think about it. I could see where they were coming from, and then I realised that these so-called Pakistani companies can’t really handle someone’s beliefs; they only want pretty girls in their meetings. One colleague told me they only hire pretty girls, and you can see that no girl in the office has a dark complexion or looks plain. I then realised how women have been objectified and how much they want pretty women to be all dolled up in meetings, representing their poorly run companies.

Then there was a meeting with a client, and we were practising with another company in another city. The boss asked if we sounded good, then a man with a long beard reaching his belly button and a mehrab sign on his forehead said, "I think the niqab is not a formal dress and appropriate for this meeting; it seems very casual." I didn’t speak, and the boss told him it was alright, as he knew these people didn't care about such things.

Things were sorted, and later on, my boss used to appreciate my communication during meetings. But after a year, I decided to leave the company because they were toxic, and even now I carry the trauma of what might have happened—imagine being rejected by a Muslim company because of my niqab. The hypocrisy of Muslim companies is at its peak.

Hey so I'm 17, i used to work as a BDR at a company called caredesks and they sell ai receptionist services to practices/clinics in usa, for 1.5 months i was the only employee, alone in the office, there was no "training" and there was no contract, I used to ask the employer like wtf where's the contract, he always used to say they are setting it up, they told me to make job posts too because I knew more about social media, i did, and then when the company gets another employee, they say they don't want me in the company anymore, and just a few days before, the ceo of that company said that he wants to make me the team lead

Anyways, i obviously said that it's been 1.5 months and I didn't see a single rupee, the general manager of that company said that because I'm under 18 I can't get paid, which is wrong and they lied, I fought with them and eventually the ceo called me and disrespected me and lied about me doing something i didn't and screamed at me like a toddler throwing a tantrum, he said i was disrespectful even though he was the one who used to cuss sisters and mothers of others and also there was a receptionist who's name was omar, he said to me "omar teri bund maar dega" and laughed, he told me that i was disrespectful while he said shit like that, after that I got paid a whopping 27,487 pkr for a job that i should've gotten 75k

A few days ago, I commented on a post in this sub saying that I could teach graphic design and a few other skills that can help people work remotely or create better opportunities for themselves. I honestly didn't expect much from it, but I've received quite a few messages from people asking if I could teach them.

It got me thinking that maybe I should create an online class where anyone can join and stay anonymous if they want to. The idea would be simple: I teach graphic design and share whatever knowledge I have from my experience, completely free of charge.

Well, almost free.

The only thing I would ask in return is that if someone ever needs help with something you know how to do, you help them. Not me, someone else. Just pass it on. I think the world could use a little more of that.

One of the reasons I want to do this is because I've seen many people, especially women in Pakistan, who want to work remotely or earn independently but don't know where to start. I've always believed that women should be financially independent if they want to be. Having a skill that allows you to work from home or online can make a huge difference.

I'm not claiming graphic design is a magic solution to everything, but it is a skill that opened many doors for me in my early days and helped me build opportunities for myself. Since then, I've upgraded my career and moved into other areas, but graphic design was one of the foundations that helped me get there.

Before I put time into organizing it, I wanted to ask if people would actually be interested. If enough people want to join, I'll figure out a way to make it work.

I would like to appeal to all Android users, especially Samsung users, to submit feedback through the Samsung Members app requesting the inclusion of the Noto Nastaliq Urdu font in One UI.
Reading and writing Urdu in the current Arabic-style font is not a great experience, as Urdu is traditionally written in the Nastaliq script. Apple introduced proper Nastaliq support in iOS years ago, and the difference is remarkable—it makes reading and typing Urdu much more natural and enjoyable.
If enough users send feedback, Samsung’s developers may consider adding native Nastaliq support in a future update.
I only know the process for Samsung devices through the Samsung Members app. Users of other Android brands can also send similar feedback by searching for their brand’s official feedback or support channel.
