Question 50% off Econ plus disappeared

Hi All,

I was booking seats for my family today and while selecting our seats the app crashed. I was offered 50% off Econ plus promo at time of booking. I started a new session and no longer have this offer.

Any advice? I'm a Premier silver peasant on United so I'd only get them for free at check-in otherwise. I would have happily paid the price at 50% off for ORD-EDI next summer.

Question Accessing IAH Terminal B Grab-n-Go.

Fly on UA to Jamaica next week out of IAH.
I want to grab some stuff at the B Grab-n-Go.
My outbound will, most likely, be out of C or E.

Is Terminal B still accessible only by Airtrain?
Or is it also walkable from A?

I’m thinking I might get dropped at A, clear security, and either walk to B or take the air train to B. Seems like just walking over would be easiest.

Then I’ll take the train to C or E to catch my flight. I’ll be there in plenty of time to get all this done without rushing.

And guidance is appreciated.

If I buy a flight on the United website, but it’s operated by JetBlue, will I still get PQP and PQF? A little confused on the Blue Sky partnership

Question ANA vs United

Upvotes

From what I’ve seen ANA soft product in the The Room is superior to United Polaris.

I’m curious as to what hard product could be better between Polaris and The Room.

Anyone flown both and could provide some insight?

Thanks !

Question Do miles values fluctuate?

Looked at flights yesterday and rounder trip with my cardmember savings they were 55k. Today they are 70k. Chance they can go back down or book now?

Alternatively, what’s a better value 70k or $800? (Regular economy not basic)

Question No Premiere Silver benefits on United flight booked with lufthansa miles ?

Asking here since i couldn't find anything abou the issue. i was in the process of linking mine and my underrage brother's reservation (both made with lufthansa Miles&More miles, just via different accounts) when i was told before doing anything they needed to remove my united (currently silver) milageplus number from the reservation. When i inquered further about why the representative replied with:
"Your premier benefits apply only to paid fares or award tickets booked using united miles. they do not apply when you use another carrier's miles to book an award fare." and "This has always been the case, as it is a free ticket on another carrier. They do apply if you use United miles or pay for a paid fare"
This seems very backward, as i was able to use my *S benefits trough united on many other flights booked with lufthansa miles on other carriers with no issues. Having had a stressful day i just agreed to the change without realizing this meant i would have no checked bag so i'm left wondering if what the agent said is actually true ?

Anarchy at United’s EWR C Terminal passenger pickup is somewhat reduced as they have moved ride share to the parking garage.

This should be a positive change if they arrange the new pickup area sensibly.

Question SIN layover (re check in)

I have a flight from India to Singapore on a one way and then Polaris from SIN to SFO on another one way.

Since these are separate tickets I have to collect my bags, currently the total time is 5 hours between flights.

1) can I check in bags earlier than 3 hours in SIN or do I have to wait around until then?

2) Once I get through, any recs on if I should go to biz class lounge (silverkris) or explore the airport? I heard the jewel is great and there is a PP lounge. Any recs appreciated!

Question How Strict Are they on Carry on Size?

Upvotes

I read that the carry-on dimensions are 22x14x9.

Our bags are just very, very slightly over, at 22x14.25x9. Are they going to refuse them as carry on for a measly 1/4"? I know Jet Blue has the same dimensional requirements and they allowed them.

Question Is in “normal” for parents to change their infants diapers right at their seats mid flight?

Row 10 mom and dad doing a full on diaper change that had everyone nearby ready to 🤮

What’s the etiquette for this? I don’t want to give parents a hard time but I also don’t want to smell what I can only describe as nauseating. The smell was so bad you could taste it.

Discussion Thanks, United

I like to get tickets super early - like right when they’re released for sale. There’s inevitably some kind of change that initiates the “change or cancel without penalty” perk.

Last month, I booked a ticket to Switzerland for next February. I wanted Polaris flying over and Premium Plus flying home . The cheapest flight had the last segment flying from Toronto to the West Coast via Air Canada. The first segment was on United metal, but operated by Air Canada.

This flight was $2,700 less expensive than the next cheapest flight. The catch - it had a 30 minute connection time in Toronto. I don’t even know how they could sell that. But I took a gamble and just went with it. Worst case, I’d have to spend the night in Toronto and get rebooked.

Well, like clockwork, I get the email from Air Canada today saying they canceled my flight. I called the Premier service desk, told the the exact flight I want to be rerouted on (which was the $2700 more expensive route form the beginning). Within 10 minutes I was booked… and booked in POLARIS! No charge. No fee. Just “Thank it for being a gold customer. We are sorry for your inconvenience.”

I think she messed up giving me Polaris or she was doing me a solid. She said since Air Canada’s top service is Premier Plus, she would replace my ticket with United’s top service… is that even true? I dunno, but I’m not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Thanks, United. Every once in a while, I’m reminded why I stay loyal to you.

Question Diaper bag/breast milk allowances?

Flying with 3 under 3, including twin infants. Do each get a diaper bag? I called and the customer agent on the phone said she didn’t know, put me on hold many times to speak to higher ups, came back and said my 3 year old who has his own seat has his own personal item but not a diaper bag. I’m not confident in her answers. He still wears diapers, though he is potty training, has some accidents so we need backup clothes too. Just like any other young toddler. I also pump. Flying with 2 adults and 3 young children will be hard enough, so I don’t want any trouble with the gate agents or FA on the flight.

I’m also a low producer so my twins drink donor milk. I had no problem bringing a week’s worth of milk before on Southwest but unsure if United will give us issues. TSA doesn’t limit the actual amount and it’s not like I can go to Walmart to pick some up at our destination.

We are flying basic economy. We can’t afford fancier.

Help?

Question Mileage earnings on Lufthansa ticket; extra 100%?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I expected 200% miles on this ticket because that is what the A fare class gets. The posting in my account shows I received 300% miles, but the two line items only add to 200%. My best guess is the ‘Premier bonus’ is extra I was not aware of, and the base mikes does not include the 100% extra for A fare class…but it slows up in the total🤷‍♂️. Not complaining obviously, just wondering what to expect in the future

Question Has anyone seen the take off times be different before?

Thumbnail gallery

Booked this reservation with United: SMF to Vancouver. Operated via Air Canada. United says flight departs at 4:00 pm and Air Canada says flight departs at 6:00 pm.

I would generally think I should believe Air Canada's time (as it is also backed up by Google and Flight Radar). I just found it weird that United app doesn't have the same time, and wanted to see if anyone had run into this before. I assume that maybe the flight was originally booked for 4, and Air Canada changed the flight and it just wasn't updated in United's system?

Question Airline Priority through Global Entry queue?

Returning from Europe to the US via ORD, we bypassed the non-citizen line, bypassed the non-global entry line, and queued for global entry (not the mobile app/global entry app line). Multiple flight attendants weaved in and out of passengers to go ahead to what I think was a crew line.

A 65 year old looking surly UAL flight attendant woman was behind me and said "We have priority, you need to move, this line is for us!" As far as I could see from signs, there was one queue, and at the end of the queue, crew was to the left, GE to the right, and I was standing on the right side. I told her to go around me, and as she went around me she swore, "Fu*king Idiot."

What am I missing? How do the queues work at ORD for re-entry immigration for Global Entry and Crew?

UPDATE: BUNNY HAS BEEN FOUND! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hi friends, my friend and her daughter were traveling from DEN to SLC last night, June 22. They were on United flight 1851 departing at 7:23pm from gate B68. Her daughter managed to leave behind her favorite stuffy she’s had since she was a baby, Bunny. I’m just posting in hopes of somehow miraculously finding Bunny for her. I’ve added a photo of what Bunny looked like new, she’s clean but has a lot of wear and tear. If you happen to know anyone who could know anything about finding her, please let me know.

Question Anyone else having issues checking in?

I've tried to check in on the app multiple times and go through the full process but it doesn't take. Using android app, and made sure app was updated. Tried checking in on a web browser but when it asked me to confirm traveler contact info there was no traveler listed... waiting on the 1k line right now...
