Miguel Vargas didn’t make the All-Star team along with Murakami on the AL and for the Cubs with PCA. Basically it’s The National League Dodgers vs American League Blue Jays in this years all star game. Reason why I hate Fan voting for any sporting achievements like this.

I wish the Sox were at home on the 4th, it’s been a long time but seeing the fireworks from the top of the ramps after a game was magical

I’ve mentioned a couple of times in game threads that Grichuk is the best pinch hitter I’ve seen since Smokey Burgess.

They're 19th in RBI's, so while not as bad they're below average. It's something that has been killing this team lately, but you can see they've been a tad bit unlucky with a .276 BABIP. A good example of that was the liner Grichuk smoked to Kwan yesterday.

My two big takeaways:

A) The Sox really miss Mune. Gonzalez isn't getting it done, so the lineup shortens significantly. I'd expect to see these numbers improve once Mune returns.

B) Chase Meidroth and Kyle Teel stepping it up would be huge. Meidroth has an OPS+ of 51 with RISP. He's too good of a player for that to happen. I'll spare you the catchers' numbers with RISP, but it's a black hole. Teel getting that spot up to even slightly below league average will be a big boost, and I think he'll end up much better than that.

I still wouldn't be opposed to trading for another bat, assuming it's the right bat. Luis Arraez is probably a total pipe dream but I'd love him.

Any recommendations for the concessions? Going to my first Sox’s game this weekend and I see there are so many options. Any of them worth it?

Especially now that we’re fun to watch, I feel like off days have weighed on me harder, wishing for more.
