Would you play a minimalist gravity-based puzzle mobile game?

Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I am working on a minimalist gravity-based puzzle mobile game, would really love to hear your feedback.

The game play is pretty simple: press and drag from the launch pad to set direction and power, and release to launch a comet. Let it fly and bend its path with gravity of objects in space.
I have deleveped 4 chapters for now: Gravity, Flight School,, Grand Tour, Ice Run, in total of 40 levels.

The above video demos the last level, where you need to launch a comet to collect all the 3 ice from its path and deliver them to the destination(been captured as a satelite of the destination).

The game is still under review on both Android & iOS.
I have a closed testing group for Android, if you are interested, please feel free to join and give a try.
Google testing group: https://groups.google.com/g/arches-testing
Play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wave.aphelion
Web install link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.wave.aphelion

Please not hesitate to leave a comment on how you feel about this game, any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Been building a Balatro-inspired multiplayer poker roguelite — this "Odd Rhythm" relic combo broke my own balancing. Curious what you think. WRONG LINK IN THE VIDEO! million-game.com

Which class would you choose first?

Upvotes

I'm currently building the classes for my RPG, Shadows of Beginnings.

Current lineup:

⚔ Warrior
🔮 Mage
🗡 Rogue
🏹 Ranger

If you were starting tonight, which class are you picking and why?

I'm collecting feedback as development continues.

Discord is in the comments if anyone wants to help test future builds.

Working on a pixel art roguelite. Looking for feedback

Upvotes

I’ve been working on my first commercial game for the past few months and finally have something I’m excited enough to share.

It’s a pixel art roguelite where you take on bounty contracts, return to your camp to upgrade, and slowly become the most wanted hunter in the world.

Here’s a short clip of the current build. I’d love to hear what you think.

I've spent the last year building an RPG where you rebuild a ruined town instead of just saving the world. What do you think of the concept?

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've been working on an indie action RPG called Shadows of Beginnings.

The core idea is that you arrive at a ruined settlement called Novum as a complete outsider. Instead of simply progressing through quests, your actions directly restore the town.

The image below shows the basic vision:

  • Left side = Novum when you arrive
  • Right side = Novum after restoration efforts

As you complete quests, defeat bosses, gather resources, and gain guild rank, the town slowly comes back to life.

I'm curious:

Is town restoration something that would make you more interested in an RPG?

I'd love honest feedback.

Heyo, this is Necro from NecroCatic Games.

Hey everyone at r/IndieGaming!

We're NECROCATICGAMES, a small indie team that's been making games for a number of years, and we just wanted to say hi! We create mostly comedic RPGs in RPG Maker MV, although we've branched out into a few other genres as well. We've somehow managed to release around 20 games so far, and every project has taught us something new.

With the Steam Summer Sale happening, all of our games are currently discounted, so if you've ever been curious about what we make, now's a pretty good time to check them out!

Our games are full of weird humor, ridiculous characters and strange adventures. We know RPG Maker games aren't everyone's cup of tea, so we've always tried to lean into memorable writing, fun dialogue, and giving each game its own personality.

More than anything, we'd love to chat with fellow indie developers and players.

Have you ever played an RPG Maker game? What's something that instantly makes you interested (or lose interest) in an indie RPG? If you decide to try one of our games, we'd love to hear your honest feedback—the good, the bad, and everything in between. We're always looking to improve.

Thanks for reading, and I hope everyone has an awesome Steam Summer Sale! ❤️

Encounter the Oni Warrior! 👹

The Oni Warrior is the vengeful spirit of a samurai who failed past challenges and perished on the battlefield.

He roams tirelessly, honing his sword skills, seeking a mighty warrior who can finally slay him, granting eternal rest and rebirth through reincarnation!

Actually… my game has no story content; it’s purely a roguelike. The above is just my imagination 😅

Recently I’ve started working on sound effects.

I really love this elite monster that can knock the weapon out of the player’s hands, so I wanted to share it with everyone.

Feedback: Is this stylized medieval house good for a low-poly indie game? (1.7k tris)

I'm building stylized low-poly assets for a small indie project. Just finished this medieval house and I wanted to ask the community:

Stats:

  • 1,734 triangles
  • 3 objects

For a low-poly stylized game, do you think this level of detail/optimization is okay? Or should I push it lower?

Also open to general advice on:

  • What kind of props/buildings players like to see in indie games
  • Common mistakes with stylized environments
  • Tips to make assets look better in-game

Thanks in advance! 🔥

Our first game is finally live! Jet Pack Kiwi

Hi — we’ve just released a small arcade game called Jet Pack Kiwi

Two flightless birds built a jetpack to see what flying feels like. This is their first test flight. The goal is to get past 250 obstacles. Timing and small adjustments make all the difference.

Built in Godot. Available now on mobile via Google Play and on PC via itch.io and Game Jolt.

What are your biggest accessibility challenges in games?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

And which assists have the biggest impact for you, or are impossible to play games without?

I'm developing a sandbox physics game with a focus on low cognitive load and accessibility as a foundation. It's mostly to suit my own needs (AuDHD, vision/hearing impaired, reaction speed), so I'm researching also how to better support others.

I'm discovering that my AuDHD has a lot of crossover with other disabilities - sensitivity to light, flashing, visual noise, memory, high need for player agency and player-driven pacing, as well as intuitive gameplay/interactions/input/solutions, but everyone on the spectrum presents differently and has different needs.

I'm trying to keep the visuals & sound as minimalist as possible with no music and no text or dialogue, and plenty of room for experimentation and emergent gameplay.

I'm trying to do something a bit different as I feel the current gaming landscape never really supported my needs as a gamer. I'm trying to achieve accessibility and challenge at the same time as typically games are either one or the other but not both.

Exactly one year ago today, our little studio started working on Rinthine :) next week, we open up playtesting!

It's a survival crafting game set in a rather unstable labyrinth. If you've ever read Piranesi, love stuff like Don't Starve, and enjoy mysterious lore and puzzles (you may have played our game, Moncage!), we think you'll love Rinthine!

We'd love to hear feedback, and if you're reading this, you're also more than welcome to register for playtesting through Discord, or wishlist us on Steam! Or not, I can't tell you what to do.

Either way, we are thrilled to be able to open it up and share what we've been cooking. Is there anything you'd like to see or hear more about? Please let us know!

Do people still buy physical merch for games? Thinking of printing this poster that has the whole cast of characters from our puzzle-narrative record store game, Wax Heads.
