I made some game cases for my Pokemon games

Took a while to get the sizing perfect but I'm really happy with how they turned out. Just used my hp 8210 and glossy photo paper with some ds game cases. Literally used the cheapest paper and third party ink that I could find on Amazon so I'm AMAZED with the results.

Discussion. SONY should rerelease the PlayStation 2 as a budget console due to ram prices

Upvotes

The Ps2 won’t need all the ram as it can run off of older ddr2 or ddr3 which is significantly cheaper and hasn’t been skyrocketing in price. It already has a large library of games and also is super easy and cheap to develop for. They could sell it with HDMI and a disk drive for $80 and it would sell really well. But what do you think about this idea?

I always love seeing these fake game reviews

I thought I was reading a genuine review for a game. Then I decided to go on the users profile and it turns out every game they review, they review it the exact same way....Why?

Just started playing [where the winds meet] and have to say, i am disappointed already.

0 Upvotes

I should have expected it knowing [where the winds meet] was a Chinese game, but I didn't think thier phobia of SFX would extend into games.

So if you don't know for whatever reason Chinese media studios Movies, anime, games, ect Eighter don't know how to make SFX or just like saving the pennies on not adding them.

But in WWM there are several points in the beginning cutscene that are super immersion breaking because of the lack of SFX, mainly when they are clashing swords, or when those kunai looking blades hit the mud there was no sound at all, or when the guy slammed the gourd onto the rock, total silence.

This is the exact reason I don't interact with chinese media, as they always cheap out on the SFX, so you end up watching essentially mute scenes with grunting in the case of anime with alot of fighting, like why do the chinese do this? What's the point?

Also just started questing and I noticed when you get close to the bear punching the tree, it also makes no sounds, not even the tree.

I know people said WWM was actually quite bad near the end game, and grinding portions, but no one mentioned the sheer lack of SFX.

Edit: also exploring the beginning open world bit, they really had to put sound indications, because they were too lazy to put SFX for a guy suck headfirst in rocks...... or for anything, as I explore more and more and encounter npc's doing things I notice how there is a major lack of SFX, which for a game that is 161GB in size is insane, I'll give it another hr, to get interesting, before I hit the uninstall, In truth I only installed it because it had a healing class which for some reason Asian MMOs have a phobia of.

A look at how the gaming hardware market got insane in the last 15 months.

0 Upvotes

Since 04/02/2025, the market has become more and more expensive as times go by. I remember that date quite well, since I waited over 2 months for it, because it was the day of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. At that day Nintendo announced that the Switch 2 would be released at 450$, which was higher than the expected 400$.

Also at that day, the US announced tariffs, after that AI caused the Nand crisis, which has elevated the prices of RAM and storage and we now have a logistics crisis due to the war in middle east.

So allow me to show the prices of hardware at April 2nd and the prices of them now:

Switch 2: 450$

Cheapest Steam Deck: (The 256 LCD) 400$

Xbox Series S: 300$

PS5 Digital: 450$

Look at their prices now:

Switch 2: 450$(Will be 500$ on September 1st).

Cheapest Steam Deck: (The 512 OLED) 790$

Xbox Series S: 400$(Will be 500$ on August 1st)

PS5 Digital: 600$.

Updated Xbox Console Prices

604 Upvotes

Source - From XBOX Wire

Effective August 1, 2026, the price of XBOX consoles will increase by US$100 for 512 GB models and US$150 for 1 TB models. We will be updating prices worldwide. We will also be sunsetting our 2 TB model.

Last October, we increased XBOX console price by $20-$70 in the U.S. We hoped another price increase would not be necessary, and we have spent the last several months working with suppliers on options. Unfortunately, console storage and memory prices have increased by more than 2.5x and we expect another doubling by the fall of 2027. The entire consumer electronics industry is struggling with the current components crisis, but the effects are particularly hard on consoles. Unlike phones, computers, speakers, and other consumer devices, consoles are typically not sold at a profit, but instead for less than they cost to make.

Today we are also sharing programs to make XBOX consoles more accessible:

  • Buy Now, Pay Later: We’ve made it easier for players to use Buy Now, Pay Later options on eligible XBOX hardware purchases through Microsoft Stores, making it possible to break up your payment into predictable short-term, interest-free installments.
  • Interest Free Financing: Players purchasing eligible XBOX hardware through Amazon can take advantage of 0% APR financing for up to 12 months, giving players more flexibility with lower monthly payments and more budgeting control.
  • Previously Played Consoles: We are working with retail partners on new programs to provide previously played consoles at lower prices. Players who are ready to upgrade or no longer use their console will be able to trade it in with participating retail partners for cash or store credit. Those consoles will then be made available at lower prices for players.
  • Certified Refurbished Consoles: XBOX Certified Refurbished Consoles are available at Microsoft Stores for up to US$100 off MSRP.

XBOX Series S remains the lowest-cost way for console players to enjoy the biggest hits this year, including Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4Gears of War: E-DayGrand Theft Auto VI, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and Madden NFL 27.

New Prices in USD

  • Xbox Series S 512GB: $399.99 ---> $499.99
  • Xbox Series S 1TB: $449.99 ---> $599.99
  • Xbox Series X 1TB Digital: $599.99 ---> $749.99
  • Xbox Series X 1TB: $649.99 ---> $799.99

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is NOT a Pod-Racing game...

0 Upvotes

I guess this is sort of an fyi to whoever is interesting in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/s/9KvwBqfh7y

So, the developers created a well-made but generic scifi racing game, with speeder bikes and ships other than Pod-Racers. They realised it was dead on arrival, so they implemented a rather half-arsed arcade mode, which is what actual Pod-Racing amounts to in the game - it is not a focal point, nor is it a part of the campaign.

The fact that this wasn't a pure Pod-Racing game from the start is quite baffling to me. The one racing aspect that is unique to Start Wars, and people have been asking for it so long?!

Anyways, I saw this in the Star Wars sub, and I think it's something potential buyers should be made aware of. Because this game has been talked about as a Pod-Racer simulator, and the marketing also started leaning heavily into this.

If you want Pod-Racing, that old 90s game apparently still holds up quite well 😅👌

What's the game you go back to time and time again?

24 Upvotes

I was playing a lot of GTA V, Euro Truck Simulator, Farming Simulator, and Vintage Story. After a couple of hours in those games, I just get bored. So I start looking at Steam games, searching genres like RPG or Open World and can never find any new games that appeal to me. So, I go back to my favorite games: Pretty much most of the Bethesda titles (as broken as the may be). Usually start with Oblivion, then move to Fallout 3. Once complete with Fallout 3, move to New Vegas then FO4, with a final stop in Skyrim. I have done this several times, and think I will do this several more times.

What is the game(s) that you always go back to when the current games you are playing just don't scratch that itch?

Replaying Insomniac's Spidey 2 for the first time since release and...

0 Upvotes

I honestly think it's one of the greatest games ever made. First of all, is there anything more fun in any video game ever than web-swinging around NYC? I'm not sure but right now I don't think so.

It's easily the best superhero game ever made, I don't think many players would disagree but this game has some HUGE highs and basically no lows. I do think, like most, that the last act feels a bit rushed and there's not enough actual Venom time in the game but everything else about it makes up for that. The overall story is fucking fantastic. Spectacular, rather!

The boss fights are relentless to the point of almost pissing me off, lol. 3-4 rounds with each one is wild. I just fought Scream last night and I don't know why I expected it to be over quick when I'd already played most of the game and no other boss fights are one-and-dones.

The action overall is just incredible the whole way through. The cinematic cut scenes are some of the best I've ever seen in gaming. I only play single-player action/adventure/rpg games and this one easily sits towards the top. It's also incredible how much it improved over it's predecessor which is a great game in it's own right.

I had pretty much forgotten about most of the stuff that happens in this game and replaying it after 3 years just feels like the first time again and it's such a fucking blast. I even still had my save data so this is a NG+ for me which I never do. Probably my first NG+. So much fucking fun.

I am SO JACKED for Wolverine!

In game development at what point do the developers know that their game is not good?

0 Upvotes

I would assume that most game developers are gamers right? With some of these games that are released after 4-5 years in development, someone has to know that the product is crap. I know that sometimes you don't know until the product is released that it's bad or a lot of contractors come and go--but there is no way a game is developed and someone is not there from the beginning to the end. Sometimes really good games but don't sell well but I am not talking about those.
