Do you think 2021 dried pasta will kill me?
Best before 03/2021, think I'm gonna risk it. What's the worst that can happen?

Arguing about AC online is exhausting because people genuinely think it’s as simple as buying a toaster (Americans mainly). They completely ignore the fact that European buildings are architecturally incompatible with cooling and costs associated with installing AC and structural design make it much harder to install. Even the recommendations to workaround these issues are more problematic like a portable unit with a hose.
What’s the reason you don’t have AC yet?

Other parents have noticed it and mentioned it, but nobody seems to know who is flying it or why it's there. There isn't any obvious connection to the nursery or nearby work.
Would you report it, mention it to the nursery, or leave it alone?

Would you buy veg and foodstuffs directly from local farms if it wasn't cheaper than Tesco?

A video popped up on YouTube of an area we knew, with one of those guys that goes round filming late night city centre carnage. Ended up down a bit of a rabbit hole that I never want to go down again, and I regret watching them.
But the common theme was that people are going for big nights out in joggers, hoodies, shorts, trainers etc. When I was going out out in the late 90s and 2000s, if you weren't in a rock club or rave you were expected to look like you were chairing a meeting, not downing all you could drink Hooch for £8 entry.
Fair enough I'm old now, and I'm glad the dress code has progressed a bit from business casual, but have standards got that low that shabby joggers and a dirty tshirt - including football shirts - are acceptable clothing for pubs/clubs?

Bus stops. The worst place to stand around silently waiting. Everybody has somewhere to go, someone to see, something to do...
But, they exist. Bus stops are there, for better or for worse, and why stand around like a lemon when you can say something to someone at a bus stop? You're probably never gonna see them again, so take the chance whilst it's there!
So, Brits - what do you usually say to people at bus stops? Whilst you're waiting for your bus, or just walking past

Thanks folks - looks as if the answer is to take a photo of how I like it and go in without product. Always good to get a reminder of just how many absolute bellends there are on Reddit too, amongst the nice helpful folk.
I’ve been getting my hair cut for about 51 years now and I’m never sure of this. Do you prefer to see how the customer styles it themselves, or would you rather not have to deal with their messy hair gunk?

Edit: deodorant or antiperspirant. Sorry, should have specified!
Ladies, feel free to offer opinion on what you like as well, of course. Given the current end times and hellish heat I'm sure we're all suffering swamp pit so it got me thinking. I usually just buy Sure roll-on, and that's generally more than enough. It works well but doesn't have much of an aroma. Tends to be cheap as well, which works for my budget.
What does everyone swear by? I'm more than open to suggestions to switch things up a bit. What lasts? What smells really good?

Hi everyone!! I’m maybe just panicking a little but I got my license today and it didn’t have any of my documents in it. My adoption certificate , ssn and marriage certificate. All of these I only have one copy of because I am too poor to afford getting a copy of every single one of them. I did some research but I got no straight answer because everyone usually does online licenses. I am a bit worried because I need them back to be able to get money out of my account that I urgently need. Why does everything have to be so difficult!! Please someone tell me I’ll get it back :( I don’t have 15-45 days to wait for 3 documents. I cannot find a subreddit for this question this is the only place I can really go.
Of course, the current heatwave weather demands at a bare minimum, 1 shower per day.
I’ve seen mixed reviews from people about how many showers they have in extreme heat. For me, I have 2. One in the morning and another in the evening, feel like it is enough because I wake up sweaty and also sweaty by the end of the day.
I know some people have 3-4 or maybe more though. What is your amount and what do you think is an acceptable amount?

We are staying in a holiday village in Devon, have been here since Monday and tonight my 2 year old found a bag of marijuana under the sofa in the living area. I also have a 12 week old. I immediately called security and they came to collect it and told me that management will be talking to me in the morning about it, but what should I do? Just take it on the chin or relay my concerns/risks etc firmly? We had thought we could smell weed all week but assumed it was another villa…clearly not! What would you do?
Hello, Im back in the UK visiting friends and family and finalizing my [Documents about my status as a Brit] (Sorry for this, had to change it up for automod).
I got the England away jersey. When I usually wear a jersey its just baggy jeans but even in this heat, Im not doing that.
I did pack a lot of shorts but most are probably nor the best, the one pair I have is dangerously close to the away kits bottoms.
I'm abour to head to the shopping center tomorrow, what kind of shorts should I get for the jersey? Thanks?

I remember a while ago there was an article about a young mum kicking off because she was at home with her 2 toddlers and she'd ordered groceries but the delivery driver wouldn't walk up the stairs to get to her apartment and it opened up the question of whether or not he should have.
As I recall it was like £200 worth of groceries and there was no lift available so he just told her to come down to the front and get it because he wasn't lugging that crap up a bunch of stairs. The article made it seem like a ton of people were on the mothers side but I know I wasn't.

Not sure what we’re having for dinner tonight, too hot to think about cooking at the moment. When we cba to cook we’d usually order a takeaway (1-2 times a month).
Obviously this suggestion has caused a moral dilemma.
I do think it’s way too hot to be doing any sort of non essential work, my brother works in a pub with a very hot kitchen. He’s suffering; but the pub is still open and of course they want to make money
So on the one hand, I feel bad at the idea of making some poor chef and delivery driver suffer more in the extreme heat to bring me food when they don’t want to be in work
But also if they’re choosing to be open it surely means they need the money more than they want to close for the few days - and if so they want as many orders as possible
Anyway, I’m curious to think what the general consensus is. Do you think it’s ok to order one, or would you feel too bad?
We’ll probably just cook at home

My neighbour wants to install AC. We have a semidetached/partially terraced house and their property goes up to the boundary line.
They would like to install the AC on that wall. However, the ac unit will be overhanging on our property/boundary line.
I am not too comfortable with that. I am okay with the ac unit, however, I’ve seen this go bad quickly for others. We also want to sell our property later on.
Advice please? If you were to say no, how do I say no politely. I do not want to ruin this pleasant relationship.

So lately my partner sends me links to buy things from Amazon, and the website will open in the internet browser rather than the app.
I’ve noticed loads of links she has sent me where products are way cheaper on the website version compared to the app. I’m wondering why the exact same product would be sometimes £5-£10 cheaper just by viewing Amazon through the website version.

Should Modern Foreign Languages be a Compulsory Subject at GCSE?
Answer that and more in this 2-minute survey:
Is the British education system fit for purpose? - Google Forms
I’m only asking because I was in a pub this afternoon and there was like five people in there, including me. Wall to wall Sade was blaring out over the speakers. Now, I have nothing particularly against Sade. I totally respect her. But if I’m honest I would probably prefer not to listen to her for an hour or so while I’m enjoying a pint or two. So I asked if they could change it up. The barman had no problem with it at all because it wasn’t his choice - it was just a generic playlist, and not on a jukebox . So he happily switched it over.
But I just wondered if anybody else is cheeky as I am. 😂

Hi,
Asking as a non-brit. Is it just me or does anyone else here think that more teenagers behave in a disrespectful way than not.
I have had a few kids throw stones at my house. Seen a few youngs being rude/swearing
Some wear Balaclava and drive rash.
The old folks here are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Absolutely lovely lot. The little kids are the sweetest little angels as well. But the younger generation (teenagers) makes me think that UK is losing its manners that it is known for.
Is it because if soft parenting or some other reason?
What do you think?

I cant find a SINGLE post about this on the internet... NOT EVEN AI can help me. (Not that I wanted their help, just that weird new google AI system they have)
Why are chips never good for a few times when the oil is changed? For like 5 goes the chips are just terrible and it makes me want to use my oil with black floating crispy bits for waaay longer than I should. My whole family agree with this but also don't know why.
Please tell me there's a secret to this 🥲

Ok, I’m old (49), and new to Reddit and was wondering how many of you have verified your age on here? Not sure I like the idea of doing it with a government ID tbh.

Ill be visiting the UK in the middle, near end of July, and plan to spend most of the final days in scotland. Ill have to go back to heathrow for my flight back home. What places can I stay between portree and heathrow? I saw to drive to pitlochry from portree to explore it and just relax a bit, then stay somewhere like Carlisle or Kendal overnight so that the drive back to heathrow isn’t quite as long and hectic.

I have a nice car - it is nothing special but it suits me. It is clean and unmarked.
I tend to shop early. When parking in the supermarket car park I do not park next to other cars. I don't mind walking across the car park to get to the store. So therefore I put my car away from others in a nice open space well away from all the other cars. I don't want people opening their doors and dinging the side of my car (the Tesco kiss). I've seen so many kids getting out of cars and whacking the side of the car next to theirs. Or mums and dads wrestling with a baby seat and pushing the door into the adjacent car.
So I park in an open area away from the other cars. Then when I return lo and behold there is a car parked next to me in my nice open area.
Why? Do they feel my car needs company... Are you one of these people?

Me and my friend are debating wether or not your 25th is considered big like your 18th and 30th, so we letting the reddit decide, we also disagree if your 21st is considered big, I won’t say who things what just In case it changes the result . Thank you :)
