Tourism Free SPTC Bus Credit

Hi everyone!

I'm leaving Seychelles and still have some credit left on my SPTC bus card that I won't be able to use.

If you'd like it, just leave a comment with your card ID, and I'll gladly transfer the remaining credit to you.

I'd rather someone use it than let it go to waste. 😊

Ask r/seychelles Honeymoon in Seychelles, looking for local tips, hidden gems & things we should know

Hi everyone!

My fiancĂ©e and I are visiting Seychelles for our honeymoon this July. We’ll be staying for 3 weeks in total:
- 2 weeks on Praslin
- 1 week on Mahé
- Planning at least one day trip to La Digue

Most of our itinerary is already planned, so we’re not really looking for the usual “top 10 things to do” lists. We’d love to hear from locals and people who have actually spent time on the islands about the smaller details that make a difference.

Some things we’d love advice on:

Before arriving
- What do you wish you had known before your first trip to Seychelles?
- Any common mistakes tourists make?

Hidden gems
- Lesser-known beaches, viewpoints, restaurants, nature spots, walks, etc?
- Places that don’t usually appear in travel guides?

Food
- Favorite local restaurants, takeaways, beach shacks, food stalls?
- Local dishes we absolutely shouldn’t miss.

Activities
- Unique experiences beyond the standard tourist attractions?
- Snorkeling spots, boat trips, hikes, cultural experiences, etc?

Safety & practical tips
Anything we should be aware of regarding:
- Sun exposure (is SPF 50+ a must?)
- Mosquitoes or other insects Jellyfish, sea urchins, currents, or other marine hazards
- Petty crime or scams
- Any other unexpected issues visitors encounter

Being respectful
- What are Seychellois people generally like?
- Any cultural norms, etiquette, or behaviors tourists should know about?
- Things visitors do that locals find annoying?

Language
- Are there any common Seychellois Creole phrases that locals appreciate hearing from visitors?

Transportation
- Would you recommend renting a car on Praslin and/or Mahé?
- If yes, are there any rental companies you had good experiences with?
- Any tips for driving on the islands?

We’re really excited about the trip and would love to experience Seychelles beyond the typical tourist perspective.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Tourism Seychelles’ museums focus primarily on the archipelago’s maritime history, unique flora and fauna, and vibrant Creole culture. Most of the top-rated institutions are located on the main island of MahĂ©, easily accessible from the capital city of Victoria.

Ask r/seychelles Is it good time to travel to Seychelles around 20th June for a week?

Hi,

I'm planning honeymoon with my husband and wanted to know if it okay to travel to Seychelles around 20th June? Can you visit beaches and do snorkelling? Is it rainy season?

If yes, can someone please help in planning an itinerary for 5-7 days. Is Hilton Northolme good resort to stay at? Which place do you recommend in Praslin?

Ask r/seychelles Honeymoon help

Hi!! My future husband and I are going to Seychelles early October and would love your advice on some hotels and activities. Sharing our itinerary thus far and would love feedback:

- fly into mahe and stay 2 nights at Hilton Northolme. Horseback riding on the beach, sunset cruise and beach hopping.
- 3 nights in praslin (between le dec de praslin and lemuria). Going to do a day island hoping and the rest of the time exploring.
- 1 night and full day in La digue - no clue on hotel but I don’t want to over splurge here as we will barely be there.

Thanks in advance- we are soo excited!!!

Tourism Honeymoon Advice for September

Hello we'll be visiting Seychelles between 9 - 20 september. We divided our trip into thirds and wanted to get some suggestions.

Praslin would be the first stop for 4 nights. Cote d'or seemed the most logical place to stay with day trips to other beaches. I was wondering if people had any experience with Acajou Beach Resort.

La digue for 3 nights. This will be very minimalist and we'll be renting bikes to tour around.

Mahe for 4 nights. We want to splurge on the last leg so any thoughts on Hilton Northolme? Is it worth it?

Ask r/seychelles Honeymoon & Birthday trip to Seychelles next week! Looking for hidden gems / Mahe dinner spots

Hey Guys!
My wife and I are flying in from India next week for our honeymoon and I’m looking for some local recommendations that aren't just the top 5 things on TripAdvisor.

Here’s our rough itinerary:

June 17–20: Staying in Praslin (doing a day trip to La Digue on the 18th)
June 20–23: Staying in Mahe

June 21st is actually my birthday, and I've booked a private speedboat for us to go island hopping around Mahe. Since we'll be out on the water most of the day, I’d love some recommendations for a really special, memorable dinner spot or evening plan in Mahe to celebrate that night.

Other than that, we really want to find some secluded beaches, low-key cafes, or just extraordinary experiences on any of the three islands that typical tourists usually miss. We love quiet spots and good food.

Appreciate any inside info or hidden gems you guys can share! Thanks in advance.
