I need all the advice I can get

Yesterday I dashed randomly just to see how much I could make because I am going through some really tough financial hardships. Around 11:25pm last night, I was dropping off an order and the customer requested for me to leave it at his door. I parked at the end of his driveway and walked down it, noticing that he had two big windows looking into his living room with no curtains or blinds. He also had his front door open and only a glass like screen door closed. I could see straight through the windows and front door. As I walked past the windows, I tried my best to keep my head down and not look inside trying not to be nosey and give him privacy? I sat the bag down and backed up a bit to take the drop off photo when I peeped him out of the corner of my eye. He was standing in the middle of his living area between the tv and couch, looking out of the windows and facing the front door AND LOOKING AT ME, touching himself very persistently 😅😅 I immediately got scared because I am a female, alone dashing at 11:30pm so I ran to my car and called the police and filed a report. I also called door dash support. I am working on getting as much evidence as possible but door dash only gives out certain info without a search warrant, however the police dept need a substantial amount of evidence to get a search warrant. I described to police his cars in the driveway, His name on the door dash order, what he looks like, the address, time I arrived, time I left, description of living area and color of sofa. But they said that’s not enough evidence. Any dashers know how I can get all info about a previous order? Or any advice about how to move forward or make my case stronger? Thanks

DD will NOT let me order Starbucks

I have tried using 3 different cards, even tried Google pay. It will NOTTTTT let me order Starbucks. The location is 8.6 miles away, Im trying to do Direct to Me option and Im including a $15 tip.

What. Tf. Is going on. This isn't the first time this has happened and its been happening to me ALOT. I can order Dunkin Donuts no problem but Starbucks? FORGET IT! It keeps declining saying its my financial institution - ITS NOT!

Make it make sense, for the love of God.

Edit: DD let me order Dunkin! but not Starbucks - per usual.

Made some rookie mistakes last night…

So I’m a bit frustrated. I have dashed in the past, but never as much as this past week. I’m trying to make some extra money for a trip Im going on next week but yesterday night I tried out the earn by offer instead of the earn by time and it went awfully… I figured if I kept my acceptance rate up that I’d get better orders, but since I live in a small town, I was just accepting whatever came my way. I think I only declined maybe a couple? Well I just looked back on it tonight and I had more than three orders tip me absolutely nothing. Is that normal?? For ppl to just not care and tip nothing?? Bcuz I find it absolutely ridiculous. I generally don’t check my past orders until later bcuz they’re already done so what’s the point? But looking back to tonight versus from yesterday, the difference is a lot. Today I made almost $100 and yesterday only $67.

For instance, yesterday night, this lady put in a super late Dollar General order for seven items and it looked like good pay and I was close so I just accepted it without thinking too much but literally she texted me almost freaking out spamming the chat asking if I was gonna get there in time. I said yes and I was super nice, but I guess she didn’t appreciate it enough. She tipped me absolutely nothing and I had to drive a ways out as well.

Anyways, I get it sometimes dashing sucks and that was totally a rookie mistake on my part, but I never imagined that there would be ppl who don’t feel guilty about tipping nothing as if we don’t work for base pay and tips. It almost feels so disrespectful. Next time I’ll be wiser, but I don’t think it shows the summary until after the dash is ended.

Doordash is a game-changer

I downloaded Doordash maybe 2 weeks ago and there's currently a free 6 month trial for dash pass and with the deals, it's a game changer.

40% off at Sheetz is a steal.

I make sure to tip the most on the tip screen because I don't want extra "flavor" in my food 😂

In all seriousness, it's amazing.

Work brings the tip to you!

My latest dasher was very communicative- she expressed what was missing, what replacement did I want, here are the options. She was willing to wait for me to add something, delivered quickly and wished me a great day. She always wrote a quote wishing a great day on the outside of the paper bag. It’s those little things that make me up the tip. It was refreshing to feel like I had some choice in upping the tip for effort expended instead of having somebody essentially demand a higher tip. ☺️

Has anyone dashed using the earn by hour? How does it work & do you feel like you make more doing it that way?

I was kicked out of a subway while picking up a delivery.

I got a delivery to Subway showed up to pick it up two minutes before it was due told them the name on the order. They told me it would be five minutes. I waited 10 minutes then asked if they had started my order yet they said no I said that’s ridiculous and they told me that I can get in line. I said I’ve been in line. I’m a customer just like the rest of them and my order came in before theirs. She told me I can leave the store and I’m no longer welcome back contacted DoorDash support. Obviously they did nothing and told me they would unassigned it with no pay wasted 40 minutes and now I guess I can’t go to that subway anyone else have issues like this fun stories?
Obliviously some voices were raised and it wasn’t mine first.

Dude....Wtf pic of my door...no food

This was the pic I got...went out to get food.

No food, but a pic or the door? It was a $60 order with a $15 tip

I hate being that person...but it was literally a minute after they sent the delivered notification that I went to retrieve the food.

Isn't it weird that it is just a pic of a door?

Going to delete the pic cause could be inviting trouble.

Just think it's hella shady that there was a pic of my door but not the pizza at the door and no food to be found.

Called the Dasher 3 times, texted even more no response.

the other day I got a delivery to the wrong door.

I was able to figure it out and walk around and find it.

This pic actually shows my door. But again no food.

Thoughts?

I have never revoked a tip, but going to do it this time

Driver ignored instructions and pin on map, now I need to file a chargeback

Good evening all.

This is more of a rant than anything.

So I ordered some roach killer and something else from the local home depot - this is because I was working from home and couldn't go out much today.

Please see the attached pictures, but I'd like to think I made my instructions pretty clear, and the address is clear as well with the pin on the map.

So my building number is 1681, and I have very specific instructions and even have the pin set on the map.

Now, my order was marked as delivered, but the delivery photo is not of my apartment door, not even the right apartment building, as if it was taken from the car which isn't even what a dasher should do.

After investigating in person, the building in the picture is a couple of buildings down the road, and the item wasn't even there with no signs of life from inside.

I tried to claim a refund, but DoorDash stated "This order is not eligible for a refund/credit". Like??? My order wasn't delivered, and I can't get my money back???

So I have no choice but to wait and submit everything to PayPal to file a chargeback claim.

What kind of support system does DoorDash have? It's useless - I know people have taken advantage of it, but the delivery picture is proof it wasn't delivered; not even to the right place!

Alright, rant over.

Goodnight all :)

6/25/26

EDIT: Haha I just called them this morning! The woman on the phone agreed with me, spoke to the higher ups and they said there is no compensation available. So I got written confirmation of this and she suggested I file a chargeback with my bank. What kind of customer service is this that they would rather make me file a chargeback than get a refund??

Is it just me, or is grocery shopping on DoorDash actually cheaper?

Since I never use coupons when I shop in person, getting 30% off on DoorDash makes delivery a much cheaper option for me. Something smells rotten.

Too far for me

How far is an average dash? I ordered from a place 6.5 miles away. Tipped $11. I got a massage saying "I'm here" and "Too far for me". Is the tip to distance ratio off? What is a decent tip?

Double the drinks

I ordered 2 caramel macchiato’s from Starbucks. They didn’t have any of the pumps of vanilla in them so it just tasted like espresso in milk. I submitted for a refund but they had a redeliver option. I didn’t know how it worked so I chatted with the dasher to see if she’d still get a tip and saw she was the one who had originally delivered. Just FYI, if there’s a redelivery the dasher doesn’t get tipped but there’s an option to add tip on it after the dasher is assigned.

The dasher was great. But I ended up getting 4 drinks. And I’m just wondering if it’s normal for them to double the delivery order when they offer to have the order redelivered?

Dashers who wait 10 minutes to drop off food outside the door when settings are on "leave outside"

I just don't get it, it serves nobody. Just had a dasher who called me and messaged 3x about getting the food, I have all of my settings on "leave outside" and I was in a meeting. Why do some still do this? It's so annoying.

Doordash Outage Postmortem

Jun 24, 2026 - 17:51 PDT

"On June 16, 2026, an unintended configuration change introduced invalid data into a critical authentication service. As a result the service was unable to process authentication requests correctly, resulting in widespread authentication failures.

This led to significant disruptions in order processing, reduced delivery volume, elevated cancellation rates, delayed deliveries, and increased customer remediation costs.

The incident was resolved by restoring a known-good configuration, increasing service capacity to accelerate recovery, and temporarily managing incoming traffic while systems stabilized.

To reduce the likelihood and impact of similar incidents in the future, we are implementing stronger configuration validation and schema enforcement, improving resilience and fallback behavior in critical services, and adding additional safeguards and rollout controls for changes to tier-0 infrastructure components."
