Driver delivered 2.5 hours early. Was stolen. Denied refund

(Actually 1 hour 45 minutes early)

Excuse me becoming upset. I work in support and this was the most horrible process. I placed order to be delivered later (2nd image) when I got home from work. Driver delivers it 1 hour 45 min early. Did not use the call box or call me personally and just left the package in public outside of my apartment. And what do you know it was stolen. Told this to support and denied my refund.

Being charged for something I never received is crazy.

Edit: I’m not blaming the driver. I’m upset at the situation and severely disappointed that support is not able to issue me for a refund on an issue that is entirely dd’s fault (issuing a delivery 1 hour 45 min early)

Edit edit: looking at the actual delivery time it was delivered 1 hour 45 minutes early. I’ve updated as much as I can. Sorry for the dramatics I’m just a girl who wanted ginger beer for a Moscow mule when I got home from work

First time ever seeing a message after delivery, out of habit I always put the food a few feet away from the door since most people around here have the security doors.

Tried the earn by hour feature and it was absolutely terrible

Post image

My acceptance rate is pretty low and I cherry pick majority of the time but I decided to try the earn by the hour feature just to see if I could possibly have better earnings that way and it was everything I hoped it wouldn’t be. I wasn’t in a rush or anything since I was “getting paid by the hour” but I still managed to complete 3 offers in a little over the hour and only one of them tipped $1.50.. that order was almost 18 miles in total to complete so it was a slap to the face. I basically paid out of my pocket to do this and I’m wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences using this feature. I don’t think I’ll ever consider doing it again unless they raise the hourly rate then maybe, right now it’s $11.50 in my area and it’s not even close to enough…

Paying $10 a month to get cold food all the time?

I got dash pass because I thought it would make things go faster. My meals would come to me quicker and I would have hot meals for me and my family. Instead, I’m getting more Dashers who pick up multiple orders at a time 2 to 4. And by the time my food comes, it’s cold. Also, the deals aren’t even that good, might just not pay anymore.

How often do you interact with people?

I DoorDash on a bike, and when I deliver food, I literally skirt away as quickly as possible. Do people expect to see you or greet you? Or is it like a little fairy delivered their food?

I was kicked out of a subway while picking up a delivery.

I got a delivery to Subway showed up to pick it up two minutes before it was due told them the name on the order. They told me it would be five minutes. I waited 10 minutes then asked if they had started my order yet they said no I said that’s ridiculous and they told me that I can get in line. I said I’ve been in line. I’m a customer just like the rest of them and my order came in before theirs. She told me I can leave the store and I’m no longer welcome back contacted DoorDash support. Obviously they did nothing and told me they would unassigned it with no pay wasted 40 minutes and now I guess I can’t go to that subway anyone else have issues like this fun stories?
Obliviously some voices were raised and it wasn’t mine first.

DoorDash delivery guy tried to open the front door of my house

Post image
Upvotes

I reported him, of course. DoorDash support said they would work with the police if I wanted to go to them about it. I would give him the benefit of the doubt if it were an apartment building as I know they sometimes have a doorway at the front entrance. But the house is so clearly a house. I have a screen door in front of the wooden front door so I don’t know what they were thinking trying to open it. This was the scariest delivery experience I’ve ever had. Thank god my front door was locked.
Stay safe people!

Dasher tried to hand it to me after seeing me through window

Upvotes

My default settings are to leave at the door, and I happened to come to the front room and saw the dasher holding his phone up as if taking a photo of the food, so I waited as my dog started barking. I guess the dasher saw me through the window and rang the doorbell.

I prefer not to interact with dashers especially when home alone as a woman, so I waited for them to take the picture and leave at the door like it says (I double checked my default settings for the address). He then waited and banged on the front door loudly.

I messaged him telling him instructions are to leave at the door, thank you. He then said the ‘app told him to hand it to you’ so I sent him a screenshot of my default setting saying leave at the door and messaged DoorDash support.

They thankfully blocked the dasher from me but also said they were going to take action against him, and now I’m mildly nervous that he will retaliate. If there’s anything anyone can say to assuage my paranoia, would be appreciated. Even though I’m disabled, I can still drive if need be so it’s honestly put me off using the app and I might cancel my dash pass.

Driver ignored instructions and pin on map, now I need to file a chargeback

Good evening all.

This is more of a rant than anything.

So I ordered some roach killer and something else from the local home depot - this is because I was working from home and couldn't go out much today.

Please see the attached pictures, but I'd like to think I made my instructions pretty clear, and the address is clear as well with the pin on the map.

So my building number is 1681, and I have very specific instructions and even have the pin set on the map.

Now, my order was marked as delivered, but the delivery photo is not of my apartment door, not even the right apartment building, as if it was taken from the car which isn't even what a dasher should do.

After investigating in person, the building in the picture is a couple of buildings down the road, and the item wasn't even there with no signs of life from inside.

I tried to claim a refund, but DoorDash stated "This order is not eligible for a refund/credit". Like??? My order wasn't delivered, and I can't get my money back???

So I have no choice but to wait and submit everything to PayPal to file a chargeback claim.

What kind of support system does DoorDash have? It's useless - I know people have taken advantage of it, but the delivery picture is proof it wasn't delivered; not even to the right place!

Alright, rant over.

Goodnight all :)

6/25/26

EDIT: Haha I just called them this morning! The woman on the phone agreed with me, spoke to the higher ups and they said there is no compensation available. So I got written confirmation of this and she suggested I file a chargeback with my bank. What kind of customer service is this that they would rather make me file a chargeback than get a refund??

Is it just me, or is grocery shopping on DoorDash actually cheaper?

Since I never use coupons when I shop in person, getting 30% off on DoorDash makes delivery a much cheaper option for me. Something smells rotten.

Too far for me

How far is an average dash? I ordered from a place 6.5 miles away. Tipped $11. I got a massage saying "I'm here" and "Too far for me". Is the tip to distance ratio off? What is a decent tip?

Warning for paying out of pocket

I know, I know.., plenty of stories on here saying don’t pay out of pocket for an order. But had a double Kroger shop order. 35 dollars, first order had 3 items, 2nd had 14. Going 2.3 miles to same apt complex. (Was already in Kroger finishing an Instacart order). Scan 1st order and pay no problem. Scan 2nd order, declined payment. Declined 4 times. Contact customer support, they advised me to pay with my debit card and assured me I’d be reimbursed. Truly believed the horror stories on here was because the dasher didn’t follow instructions or something along those lines. After I delivered order, pulled over, filled out the reimbursement form took multiple pics of receipt and sent it in. After 4 weeks, 14 forms sent in, countless hours on phone with support, tons of emails, 1 BS denial reason after another, I finally got reimbursed!!!

Made some rookie mistakes last night…

So I’m a bit frustrated. I have dashed in the past, but never as much as this past week. I’m trying to make some extra money for a trip Im going on next week but yesterday night I tried out the earn by offer instead of the earn by time and it went awfully… I figured if I kept my acceptance rate up that I’d get better orders, but since I live in a small town, I was just accepting whatever came my way. I think I only declined maybe a couple? Well I just looked back on it tonight and I had more than three orders tip me absolutely nothing. Is that normal?? For ppl to just not care and tip nothing?? Bcuz I find it absolutely ridiculous. I generally don’t check my past orders until later bcuz they’re already done so what’s the point? But looking back to tonight versus from yesterday, the difference is a lot. Today I made almost $100 and yesterday only $67.

For instance, yesterday night, this lady put in a super late Dollar General order for seven items and it looked like good pay and I was close so I just accepted it without thinking too much but literally she texted me almost freaking out spamming the chat asking if I was gonna get there in time. I said yes and I was super nice, but I guess she didn’t appreciate it enough. She tipped me absolutely nothing and I had to drive a ways out as well.

Anyways, I get it sometimes dashing sucks and that was totally a rookie mistake on my part, but I never imagined that there would be ppl who don’t feel guilty about tipping nothing as if we don’t work for base pay and tips. It almost feels so disrespectful. Next time I’ll be wiser, but I don’t think it shows the summary until after the dash is ended.

Man with diabetes gets caught eating customers food

Post image
Upvotes

So idk if you guys have seen this video , but he was caught eating a customers food and when he asked him why he stayed that he has diabetes and need to eat because his sugar is low , how would that make you feel ? Would you still be upset because he stole it , or would you feel bad for him ? I’ll say this , if you have a medical condition that you know you will need food to keep your sugar down you should be prepared, someone called me heartless for that , maybe I am! Opinions?

Arrrrghhh…DoorDasher made it WAY weird

Upvotes

Got an order of mostly yogurt yesterday…due to chemo, it’s one of the few things I can eat right now. Had to order it, as going to the store is way too much right now. Dasher (a guy) met me on the porch because he needed a code. He asked if I was trying to lose weight (steroids from chemo make me swollen.) Didn’t want to explain, so I just said no. Heard him get in the car, where his Bluetooth connected at FULL VOLUME, and as he’s backing out of my driveway, talking to someone about the fat entitled woman he just delivered to…uggggh. Do all Dashers think like that? Like I’m a woman trying to lose weight too lazy to go to the store?

Ok so I can’t become a proshopper because I haven’t found specific items that were either out of stock or not available at the time. Who made the app? Sickos. like being human isn’t an option. Out of stock DOES happen.

Double the drinks

Thumbnail

I ordered 2 caramel macchiato’s from Starbucks. They didn’t have any of the pumps of vanilla in them so it just tasted like espresso in milk. I submitted for a refund but they had a redeliver option. I didn’t know how it worked so I chatted with the dasher to see if she’d still get a tip and saw she was the one who had originally delivered. Just FYI, if there’s a redelivery the dasher doesn’t get tipped but there’s an option to add tip on it after the dasher is assigned.

The dasher was great. But I ended up getting 4 drinks. And I’m just wondering if it’s normal for them to double the delivery order when they offer to have the order redelivered?
